Chapter 79: Chapter 79: Making a Bet_1
Soon, two servers entered with trays, placing seven bowls of fried sauce noodles, along with various side dishes, carefully on the table.
Before the servers could leave, Gao Liang’s eyes straightened, fixed on the brightly colored, appetizing fried sauce noodles, saliva almost dripping from his mouth.
Upon seeing the look on Gao Liang’s face, Qin Sisi hurried to help the servers arrange the side dishes and told them,"You can step out now, I’ll call you if needed."
The servers left the room beaming. As soon as they closed the door, Gao Liang lunged onto a bowl of noodles, wolfing it down.
Shaking her head in amusent, Qin Sisi handed a bowl to Ye You, placed another in front of herself, and had barely taken a few bites when Gao Liang pushed an empty bowl onto the table.
Before Qin Sisi could react, Gao Liang was already devouring the second bowl.
Oh my, he eats incredibly fast!
Qin Sisi watched, gobsmacked, as Gao Liang feasted like the Windy Disruption, hardly believing her eyes.
While Qin Sisi was still in shock, Gao Liang finished his second bowl, and swiftly started on the third.
Upon noticing her own hunger, Qin Sisi turned to look at Ye You, who was also munching on his noodles, albeit much more elegantly.
Qin Sisi pressed her lips together, retracted her gaze and started to focus on her own bowl.
Midway through her al, Gao Liang broke the silence, "Sister Sisi, I’m finished."
Startled, Qin Sisi shot up and gasped, "You finished five bowls already?!"
"Yes, look." Gao Liang affird, nodding hard while pointing at the five empty bowls on the table to prove his point to Qin Sisi.
Qin Sisi took a deep breath, "Are you full?"
Gao Liang shook his head chuckling, "Not yet."
Having witnessed his earlier feats, Qin Sisi wasn’t too surprised and straightforwardly asked, "How many more bowls can you eat?"
Gao Liang considered this for a mont and finally said, "Let’s go with five more."
She had told herself not to be surprised again, but at this mont, Qin Sisi can’t help but gape, finally replying, "Alright, I’ll order."
Qin Sisi ordered five more bowls of fried sauce noodles at the counter. After the server brought them up, Gao Liang consud them like a storm, cheeks bulging noticeably.
Qin Sisi and Ye You stopped eating, watching Gao Liang instead.
Seizing the opportunity while Gao Liang was intent on his noodles, Qin Sisi asked Ye You in a faint whisper, "How much do you think he can eat?"
Ye You gave Qin Sisi a conspiratorial glance, a sly glint flashing in his purplish eyes, "Want to make a bet?"
"Bet on what?" Qin Sisi asked curiously.
"Fifteen bowls, you pick over or under?" was Ye You’s reply.
Fifteen bowls?
After so thought, Qin Sisi decided that ten bowls including those five, was already a lot; two or three more would be more than enough.
So, she responded, "I choose under."
There was a hint of a smile in Ye You’s eyes, "Then I’ll pick over. If I win, you have to let
kiss you. If you win, you get to kiss ."
Taken aback, Qin Sisi snapped, "Dream on!"
Ye You chuckled lightly, "Then what do you propose we bet?"
After so thought, Qin Sisi responded earnestly, "If I win, you have to teach
a new spell."
Ye You’s eyes sparkled, as he said without hesitation, "Okay, I agree. My terms, however, remain the sa. If I win, you have to let
kiss you."
Two spots of colour flushed Qin Sisi’s cheeks, she turned her head shyly saying in a low voice, "I... I won’t lose."
"We’ll see," replied Ye You, his tone sportive and confident.
Not long after, the newly served five bowls of fried sauce noodles found their way into Gao Liang’s stomach.
Qin Sisi, who was full of hope, asked expectantly, "Are you full now?"
Corners of Gao Liang’s mouth still sared with sauce, he coyly said, "I guess, not quite."
Qin Sisi paused, and then with so apprehension said, "Okay, that’s fine. Order so more then. How many more can you eat?"
Gao Liang rubbed his belly and said, "Five more."
"Huh?" Qin Sisi exclaid involuntarily. Five more would an fifteen in total!
Seeing Qin Sisi’s expression, Gao Liang apologised awkwardly, "Sister Sisi, if you don’t have enough money, I can stop eating."
"No, no, it’s not about the money. It’s just surprising that you with your small fra can eat so much!" Qin Sisi quickly replied.
Gao Liang chuckled, "I’m a hungry ghost after all. I’ve always felt hungry for the past few decades. That’s why I want to continue eating."
Qin Sisi voiced her concern, "But there must be a limit, right? You can’t keep eating indefinitely, what if it ruins your stomach?"
Gao Liang quickly responded, "Oh yes, I am starting to feel a little full. Maybe five more bowls should be enough."
Qin Sisi was taken aback, then said, "Alright, I’ll order."
Qin Sisi again went up to the counter to order five bowls of fried sauce noodles. When the server arrived, they looked at the group strangely.
Ignoring the server’s astonished gaze, Qin Sisi turned to look out of the window, while Gao Liang’s eyes lit up again at the sight of the new bowls of fried sauce noodles.
The server left and Gao Liang started eating again, though Qin Sisi took note that he ate slower this ti.
Qin Sisi whispered to Ye You, "If it’s exactly fifteen bowls, who wins?"
Ye You quickly responded, "You do."
Qin Sisi bluntly said, "Good, I’ll thank you in advance."
Ye You remained silent, his purplish eyes unperturbed.
The inevitable finally happened that disappointed Qin Sisi; when Gao Liang finished the additional five bowls, he said he was almost full and needed just two more bowls.
Qin Sisi opened her mouth wide, visibly accusing Gao Liang.
Gao Liang was feeling a little awkward under Qin Sisi’s gaze and stamred, "Sister Sisi, if it’s not okay, then let’s skip it."
Qin Sisi ca right back to her senses and quickly said, "No, no, it’s okay. Why won’t it be?!"
Having said that, she ran to the counter to order two more bowls of fried sauce noodles. A bet was a bet and she had promised to let Gao Liang have a hearty al, how could she go back on her word?
This ti around, the young server who brought the noodles couldn’t help but ask, "Miss, are you two eating all of these noodles?"
Qin Sisi turned her eyes briefly and responded, "It’s mainly my little brother who’s eating. He’s just co back from military training and he’s starving."
Qin Sisi knew she couldn’t fully convince anyone, but this was the best excuse she could co up with.
