Chapter 78: Chapter 78: The Small Wish of the Hungry Ghost_1

Gao Liang laughed heartily, then said expectantly, "Sister Sisi, you said you would grant

a wish."

Qin Sisi nodded assertively, "Yes, tell

what your wish is."

Gao Liang said earnestly, "As a hungry ghost, my wish is naturally to have a proper al."

Qin Sisi was not surprised by this; she imdiately responded cheerfully, "Sure, what do you want to eat?"

Gao Liang thought for a mont and said with an air of reminiscence, "For all the years I’ve been a ghost, I’ve tasted a lot of nice things. But to be honest, none of the exotic delicacies appealed to . I still love eating jajangmyeon (fried sauce noodles) the most."

The last three words were emphasized by Gao Liang as if he was stating a very important fact.

Gao Liang, of course, never had the chance to dine at a dining table. He would always search for leftovers in the kitchen late at night, but occasionally, he would co across so culinary treasures.

"Jajangmyeon?" Qin Sisi repeated, recalling her father’s fondness for jajangmyeon. He would make it himself, and though he was an average cook, his jajangmyeon was always superb.

Gao Liang nodded in agreent, "I rember when I was alive, I once saw soone eating it outside a restaurant. The white noodles, red sauce, green cucumber strips, yellow bean sprouts... rely the sight of it made my mouth water."

As he spoke, Gao Liang smacked his lips as if he was about to salivate

Seeing Gao Liang’s enthusiastic expression, Qin Sisi chuckled, patted his shoulder, and said in a cheerful tone, "Alright, I’ll take you to have jajangmyeon once the sun cos up."

Jajangmyeon, a traditional specialty noodle dish, originated in Beijing. It is listed as one of the "Top Ten Chinese noodles" - savory, smooth, and refreshing.

Many, especially those from northern China, consider jajangmyeon their favorite dish. "Old Beijing Jajangmyeon" has beco the most famous brand and has branches in many places.

"Really?" Gao Liang exclaid joyfully, but his excitent faded quickly, "Are you out of your mind, Sister Sisi? I’m a ghost, rember? How can I be seen in sunlight?"

Without seeming perturbed, Qin Sisi blinked her eyes that resembled a clear brook, hung a genial smile on her face, and turned to Ye You.

Ye You instantly understood her implication. With a flick of his claw, a shiny pill appeared in Qin Sisi’s open palm.

Curiously, Gao Liang asked, "What’s this?"

Qin Sisi replied with a light smile, "This is the Revealing Soul Pill, which will temporarily transform you back into a human form. This way, you can enjoy your jajangmyeon in broad daylight."

Gao Liang was so surprised that his mouth hung open, "Oh my! You actually... I an, your cat has such a miraculous thing!"

Showing a bright gleam in her eyes, Qin Sisi shot a glance at Ye You and said, "As I told you before, my cat is extraordinary."

Gao Liang paid little attention to what Qin Sisi said, nor did he ponder much about that miraculous black cat. His mind was completely centered on the pill.

Upon seeing the shiny pill, Gao Liang couldn’t help swallowing a mouthful of saliva. Then, he swiftly stretched out his hand and grabbed the pill from Qin Sisi’s palm.

Before Qin Sisi could react, Gao Liang had already swallowed the pill.

Gao Liang smacked his lips a few tis, rolled his eyes, and then tilted his head to say, "It doesn’t taste like anything!"

Qin Sisi couldn’t help but chuckle, saying, "It’s a pill, not candy, how could it have a taste?"

Soon, Gao Liang’s body began to change, from a ghost with a virtual body to a substantial human form.

Gao Liang looked at his transford self in surprise. He was patting his body incredulously when he suddenly let out a "wow" in exultation. He then sprang onto the sofa and started jumping around in an ecstatic spree.

Qin Sisi watched this in fear, hurriedly saying, "Hey, get off the sofa. It belongs to the landlord, don’t break it."

"Ha, ha... Sister Sisi, I’m so ecstatic!"

Gao Liang leaped down from the sofa and started running around the small room. He bumped into things here and there, grimacing with pain, but he remained undeterred, his laughter echoed delightfully.

Exhausted, Qin Sisi put a hand on her forehead and said dejectedly, "You continue, I’m going to sleep."

Qin Sisi threw her tired body onto the bed and Ye You jumped up as well, curling up by the edge of the bed.

However, they were unable to fall asleep amid Gao Liang’s laughter and commotion.

Fearing Gao Liang might suspect sothing, Qin Sisi didn’t dare to communicate with Ye You in front of him. She spent the remaining ti tossing and turning, her eyes sore and dry.

The next day, Qin Sisi, now with a pair of panda eyes, took Ye You and Gao Liang out to eat jajangmyeon.

Before they left, Qin Sisi had Gao Liang take a bath and then dressed him in her clothes. A white t-shirt, a pair of jeans, and a pair of sneakers; the style was sowhat neutral. Otherwise, Gao Liang appearing on the street in his ragged clothes and bare feet would undoubtedly draw attention.

The clothes were a bit large, but style allows for individual expression, it doesn’t matter whether the clothes are large or small, loose or tight.

Once he was dressed, Gao Liang instantly transford into a sunny and handso guy. The only downside was his ssy, long hair.

Qin Sisi wanted to take Gao Liang to the barbershop, but he insisted that she cut his hair for him.

At Gao Liang’s insistence, Qin Sisi reluctantly picked up a pair of scissors and trimd his hair. Although it was not perfect, it was decent enough to go outside now.

Just next to the street where Qin Sisi previous company was located, there was a "Old Beijing Jajangmyeon" noodle house. Qin Sisi and Lin Shan had eaten there once, and the taste was quite good, so she decided to take Gao Liang to that store.

On the way, Gao Liang was very excited, hopping and skipping as he walked.

Upon arriving at the noodle shop, Qin Sisi requested a private room. After they settled, she turned to Gao Liang and asked, "Will two bowls of jajangmyeon be enough for you?"

Gao Liang scratched his head a little awkwardly and replied, "I want to eat more."

Observing Gao Liang’s scrawny physique, Qin Sisi couldn’t believe he could eat much—even for a hungry ghost.

So Qin Sisi ventured, "Then three bowls?"

Gao Liang shook his head, his lips tightly pursed.

Finally, Qin Sisi proposed, "How many bowls do you want to order? Just tell , don’t be embarrassed."

After hesitating for a mont, Gao Liang muttered, "Let’s start with five bowls."

Qin Sisi was so surprised that her mouth fell open. She glanced at Gao Liang’s stomach instinctively. Though she had reservations about Gao Liang biting off more than he could chew, she ordered five bowls of jajangmyeon for him anyway, plus one for herself and another for Ye You.
