Chapter 80: Chapter 80: Goodbye_1

The waitress looked skeptically at Qin Sisi and Gao Liang, politely advising, "Take care of yourselves, don’t overeat."

Qin Sisi quickly responded with courtesy, "Alright, alright! Thank you!"

After the waitress left, Qin Sisi breathed a sigh of relief. Gao Liang, of course, didn’t care about the waitress’s opinion and quickly resud eating his noodles, albeit at a more normal pace this ti.

Ye You cast a glance at Qin Sisi, his eyes seemingly full of amusent.

Qin Sisi understood his implication and purposefully turned her head just to look at Gao Liang, avoiding Ye You’s gaze. Despite her efforts, her cheeks uncontrollably heated up.

When the two bowls of zhajiang noodles disappeared into Gao Liang’s stomach again, he let out a loud, satisfied burp.

Resigned to her defeat, Qin Sisi cald down and asked softly, "How do you feel? Want more?"

Gao Liang patted his now round belly, ditating for a mont before saying, "I feel full, but I think I want one more bowl."

As Gao Liang spoke, he looked at Qin Sisi with pleading eyes, as if seeking her approval.

Qin Sisi gave a small smile, reached up to ruffle Gao Liang’s hair, and then briskly stood up to order one more bowl of zhajiang noodles from the front counter.

The waitress, now used to the shock, said nothing when she served the noodles, only giving Gao Liang a aningful glance.

"Eat up." Qin Sisi pushed the noodles in front of Gao Liang and said gently.

Gao Liang nodded gratefully, shot Qin Sisi a thankful glance, and began to eat his final bowl of noodles.

He ate this bowl of noodles slowly, almost one noodle at a ti.

Qin Sisi found this strange and was about to ask him about it when two big tear drops fell from his bright eyes and splashed noisily into the bowl of zhajiang noodles.

Qin Sisi was startled and imdiately asked, "Gao Liang, what’s wrong?"

Gao Liang looked up at her, tears still glistening at the corner of his eyes, but he was smiling happily, "Sister Sisi, thank you. I’ve never been as happy as I am today."

Aching at his words, Qin Sisi responded sowhat sadly, "You don’t have to thank , this is just a transaction."

Gao Liang declared loudly, "No, I want to thank you. If it wasn’t for you, I could not have experienced such happiness. If...if in the next life I et you again, I will surely repay you."

A warm feeling spread in Qin Sisi’s heart. This was the first ti a ghost had promised to repay her.

Qin Sisi smiled warmly, caressed Gao Liang’s hair, and softly said, "I don’t need repaynt from you. I just hope that in every lifeti, whether you are wealthy or poor, you can find simple joy as you have today."

"Alright." Gao Liang nodded vigorously, and then picked up the bowl and swiftly finished off the last of the zhajiang noodles.

Gao Liang put the empty bowl onto the table vigorously, wiped his mouth with his sleeve, and exhaled a gratified sigh. The eighteen bowls of zhajiang noodles were really satisfying.

"Sister Sisi, co on, I’m ready."

Gao Liang looked at Qin Sisi with determination, his posture straight, yet his ballooning belly made him look rather comical.

But Qin Sisi was not laughing. Instead, she felt a prickling sensation in her eyes.

Ye You flicked his claw, and the beautifully white Spirit Conversion Bottle floated out of his hand, gently twirling in the air.

Gao Liang looked astounded at Ye You and the mysteriously appearing tiny bottle, saying in admiration, "Sister Sisi, your cat is really..."

Before he could finish his words, Gao Liang’s body turned into a clump of twinkling silver light and then gradually stretched into a silver stream. Silently, it flowed into the Spirit Conversion Bottle.

Ye You stretched out his paw. Obeying his command, the Spirit Conversion Bottle leisurely landed on Ye You’s claw, then disappeared into thin air.

Qin Sisi lowered her eyes in sorrow. Gao Liang’s bright eyes seed still to be blinking at her, and his ringing voice echoed in her ears....

Ye You softly said, "It’s ti to go ho. You should start thinking about how you’re going to explain your brother’s disappearance to the waitress outside."

Hearing Ye You’s words, Qin Sisi rubbed her eyes, sniffed, cast a listless glance at Ye You, and said, "What’s there to think about? It’s easy."

Ye You was taken aback. Before he could say anything else, Qin Sisi had already grabbed her bag, scooped him up, and walked out the door.

After paying the bill, a waitress ca up and asked Qin Sisi, "Where’s your little brother? I haven’t seen him around."

Qin Sisi answered indifferently, "He had sothing to do, he left first."

"Oh," the waitress replied without pressing further. There were always people coming and going; it wasn’t a big deal for one person to leave early.

Witnessing this, Ye You appeared sowhat disgruntled. Had he thought too much? Or had Qin Sisi beco smarter?

After returning to their accommodation, Qin Sisi and Ye You briefly discussed their next steps. Now that they had resolved the situations with the ghosts Tan Ke and Gao Liang, it was ti for them to go out and find Mrs. Wang Luo’s husband and son.

Having exchanged a few words, both Sisi and Ye You felt their eyelids becoming heavy. They had stayed up all night because of Gao Liang. They were sleepy and could hardly keep their eyes open.

So, one human and one cat fell asleep on the bed to make up for their lack of rest from the night before, and they slept soundly.

As a result of sleeping during the day, Qin Sisi was lying on the bed that night wide awake, not feeling any sleepiness.

Qin Sisi sighed frustratedly. Little did she expect the night to be so boring without any ghosts to catch.

As a result, she started to replay in her mind the experiences of the past few days. Ever since the fifteenth of August when she discovered the truth about Ye You and agreed to help him collect Soul Power, less than twenty days had passed. Yet, the impact it had on Qin Sisi was even greater than all her previous experiences.

Ghosts are incarnations of people either before death or after. Like people, they have their own personalities. So are beautiful, others are ugly. So are kind, others are wicked.

They all have their own stories, so may be sorrowful, so may be thrilling, and so may fill you with despair.

Ye You, who was leaning against Qin Sisi’s head, asked softly, "Can’t sleep?"

"Hmm." Qin Sisi responded quietly in affirmation, seemingly rembered sothing and awkwardly turned her face away.

"Are you thinking about Gao Liang?" Ye You inquired softly without moving.

After a brief pause, Qin Sisi replied, "I am thinking about all the ghosts I have encountered."

Ye You extended his claw, retracted his sharp claw into his pad, and grabbed hold of Qin Sisi’s delicate chin, making her face him.

Qin Sisi felt a bit flustered, "You..."

Ye You moved closer, his voice was low, "Stop thinking about anything else now. Isn’t it ti you repaid your gambling debt to ?"

Qin Sisi’s face flushed and she was about to say sothing, but Ye You’s mouth was already covering her soft lips, and he didn’t let go for a long ti...
