Chapter 741: Chapter 741: Divine Dog’s Loyalty_1

Ye You looked at Qin Sisi’s movents and chuckled silently. He shifted his gaze away and looked at the screen as he narrated to her, "In the initial days, the Demon Sacred Realm consisted only of the Jiuxi Royal Family and Seven Major Families. The Sage Ruler had a fierce and powerful black dog nad Pan Hu. As loyal as a rock, it protected the Sage Ruler."

At that ti, nothing had been settled; Pan Hu and the Seven Major Families, along with the Sage Ruler, fought battles in the north and south, pacifying most of the Demon Sacred Realm.

In the end, only one great demon nad Rui Qiu remained, entrenched in the northwest of the Demon Sacred Realm. This Rui Qiu was skilled in magic and had a cruel nature, making him hard to deal with.

To inspire the morale of his troops, the Sage Ruler made a promise in front of the army: whoever could slay Rui Qiu, would wed his daughter, Princess Pearl.

Princess Pearl was said to be the most Beautiful woman in the Demon Sacred Realm at that ti, and every man admired her. With the Sage Ruler’s promise, the soldiers indeed fought valiantly in the battle, especially the black dog Pan Hu.

It battled its way through Rui Qiu’s countless minions and finally confronted Rui Qiu. After a tough fight, Pan Hu broke Rui Qiu’s neck and carried his severed head to the Sage Ruler.

At first, people cheered, but soon everyone quieted down, to see how the Sage Ruler would handle the situation.

If the Sage Ruler didn’t fulfil his promise, it would greatly damage his credibility; if he did, he would have to marry his beautiful beloved daughter to a dog.

The Sage Ruler felt this to be tricky. During his hesitation, Princess Pearl stepped forward, expressing her admiration for Pan Hu’s bravery and courage, calling him a true hero. She said that she was willing to be Pan Hu’s wife.

The Sage Ruler was delighted, and right there he settled the marriage between Princess Pearl and Pan Hu. After returning to Wang City, a grand wedding was held for them imdiately.

Pan Hu was moved by the Sage Ruler’s favour and the Princess’s sincerity. It vowed that its descendants would remain as faithful to the Jiuxi Royal Family as it was. Should any of them violate this pact, the whole family would perish and be forever erased from the Demon Sacred Realm.

Because of the Panhu family’s loyalty, they began to gain more trust from the Jiuxi Royal Family. Gradually, they garnered a reputation as equal to the Seven Major Families and beca known as the Eighth Great Family.

After Pan Hu’s death and the extinction of its body and mory, the imnse Magic Source began to shrink and ultimately transford into a powerful black long whip, nad Divine Dog’s Fury.

From then on, the Panhu family beca one of the Eight Great Families. Divine Dog’s Fury was listed as one of the Top Ten Great Divine Artifacts. The black dog Pan Hu beca the totem of the Panhu family and was known as the Divine Dog."

Qin Sisi’s eyes glead brightly as she listened with great interest; indeed the story had a satisfactory ending.

She stared at the beautiful Princess Pearl depicted on the screen and asked, "Could Princess Pearl truly love a dog?"

Ye You smiled and replied, "If you can fall in love with a cat, why can’t she fall in love with a dog?"

Qin Sisi blushed and glared at Ye You in annoyance. She decided not to dwell on this issue any longer. After all, Princess Pearl made her choice and lived with Pan Hu for many years; they must have had genuine feelings for each other!

While Ye You was recounting the history of the Panhu family to Qin Sisi, a serious conversation was happening in the study of the Clan Leader of the Panhu family.

The usually cheerful General Kuiyong had a rare solemn expression on his face as he said in a low voice, "Father, according to Yun Wang, his Highness holds extraordinary feelings for the woman from the Human World."

With an aged face and white hair, Pu Chen sat at his desk, his eyes slightly closed, and his fingers were curled. His fingers gently rapped on the desk a few tis.

Then he slowly opened his eyes and looked at General Kuiyong and ambiguously remarked, "Even you, with a head as thick as a log, have learned to manipulate things?"

A slightly red-faced Kuiyong bowed slightly and responded, "Son always has the Panhu family and the future of the Demon Sacred Realm in mind."

Pu Chen shook his head slightly. Through his bushy white brows, his eyes revealed a penetrating shine. He said seriously, "Son, rember, the existence of the Panhu family is neither for itself nor for the Demon Sacred Realm, but for the Jiuxi Royal Family."

Kuiyong’s face changed and he argued, "I am also doing it for the Jiuxi Royal Family."

With a sarcastic smile, Pu Chen asked, "So, according to you, what should be done?"

Kuiyong lowered his voice and said, "His Highness must not marry a common woman from the Human World. The future Empress must be of pure blood and noble birth. Therefore, we must eliminate her before the Prince falls too deeply for her."

As soon as "whack" was heard, Pu Chen’s large hand slapped down heavily on the desk. He stared harshly at Kuiyong, roaring, "Kuiyong, what role do you play to his Highness?"

Seeing his father’s fury, Kuiyong promptly took a step back and respectfully said, "I am his Highness’s guard."

Pu Chen grunted coldly, "As a guard, you want to decide your master’s destiny. You are truly exceeding your duties."

Pu Chen literally gritted his teeth when he spoke these words.

Kuiyong was surprised and fell to his knees, saying sowhat panic-stricken, "I have no ulterior motives. I am only expressing my true thoughts. If they are unfair, I ask you, my father, for guidance."

Pu Chen sighed. He stood up and began to stroke the painting on the wall behind him, a painting that was identical to what was on the screen in Ye You’s room.

He asked softly, "Kuiyong, what is the purpose of the Divine Dog?"

Kuiyong replied in a rough voice, "To guard, to remain the most faithful guardian."

Pu Chen again asked, "Do you think that killing the woman loved by His Highness is the way to faithfully guard him?"

Kuiyong was struck by those words and fell silent.

Pu Chen’s voice revealed a hint of resolution, "The Panhu family exists to ensure the safety of the Jiuxi Royal Family and to execute every command of the Jiuxi Royal Family unwaveringly."

Kuiyong’s expression was torn as he gathered his courage and asked, "Father, Tian Xiaozi is also a descendant of the Jiuxi Royal Family. Why did we choose to follow Ye You?"

Pu Chen abruptly turned and stared at Kuiyong with his eyes sparkling fiercely.

Kuiyong got frightened and quickly kowtowed, frantically explaining, "I bear no ulterior intentions. I just want to understand the reasons."

Pu Chen slightly angry, said loudly, "Alright, I will give you an explanation. Firstly, Ye You is the son of Sage Ruler Tian Yu, the legitimate blood of the Jiuxi Royal Family. Secondly, Tian Xiaozi murdered his brother to seize power, showcasing his violent and cruel nature. If you follow such a person, there will not be a good outco. Lastly, the Divine Artifacts represent the true heritage of the Jiuxi Royal Family.

Do you understand now?"

Each point was a bombshell in Kuiyong’s confused mind, clearing the fog and letting him see the light of day.
