Chapter 60: Chapter 60: Self-Destruction_1
As Qin Sisi was still astonished, Ye You chid in from the side, "That’s his ghost."
Qin Sisi ca back to her senses, heaved a deep sigh of relief and found it funny that she wasn’t afraid of ghosts, but was scared of people. Perhaps sotis, humans indeed were more terrifying than ghosts.
Ye You proceeded to say, "I’m going to release the Invisible Bubble. You try and see if you can subdue it."
Qin Sisi furrowed her brows, "You want to subdue his ghost?" Wouldn’t such an unforgivable villain deserve to have his spirit scattered, never to reincarnate?
Ye You gently lowered his head, a struggle flashing in his eyes. He spoke quietly, "Sisi, I understand your concerns, but this is very important to ."
Seeing the dimd eyes of Ye You, Qin Sisi felt her heart ache. She then said, "I understand, I’ll help you, but can we not give him a Spirit Gathering Pill?"
Those who ingest a Spirit Gathering Pill could reform their spirits within a hundred years. Without the pill, the scattered soul fragnts would aimlessly drift in the void for a long period -- several hundreds, or even thousands of years.
"Alright." Ye You answered resolutely.
Qin Sisi nodded, and then Ye You withdrew the Invisible Bubble, their bodies abruptly appearing in the middle of the ssy and cramped room.
The man was startled looking at the young girl who had suddenly appeared, slender and graceful, with refined brows and lips. But her bright and smart eyes shone cold as ice, glaring angrily and disparagingly at him. Seated on the girl’s shoulder was a black cat. What was even more baffling was the cluster of purple flas engulfing the cat’s outstretched claws. Under the flas’ illumination, the black cat’s dark purple eyes emitted an eerie light.
The man couldn’t help but shudder, feigning bravery as he blustered, "Hey! What are you doing here? What are you up to in my room?"
Qin Sisi replied coldly, "I am here to capture ghosts."
"Capture ghosts?" The man stared at Qin Sisi in doubt.
Qin Sisi subtly curled her lips, pointed to the battered corpse on the bed and quietly asked, "What do you think that is?"
The man looked in the direction Qin Sisi pointed, and was imdiately stunned. Shaking all over, he stuttered in disbelief, "Wha... What the... I... "
Qin Sisi spoke coldly, "You’re already dead. What you are now is just a ghost."
The man mutter incredulously, "Dead... Dead? I’m already dead? How? I was clearly just sleeping. It... It can’t be. I don’t believe it. Just who are you?" He refused to believe the scene before him, staring fiercely at Qin Sisi.
This left Qin Sisi speechless. The saying goes ’one won’t shed tears until they see the coffin’, but it was rare to see an individual continue to remain insolent upon seeing their own coffin.
Qin Sisi couldn’t be bothered to argue with the man. She directly said, "I am here to capture ghosts. I currently need Soul Power. Offer
your Soul Power and I can grant you one wish."
"Soul Power?" The man muttered quietly, as if rembering sothing. He loudly declared, "I understand now. I am really dead! But I don’t want to die. I wish to carry on living. As long as you can allow
to continue living, I will agree to anything you want."
Qin Sisi was taken aback. Were you an idiot, or was he treating her like one? It was necessary for a soul and the body to unite to beco life. If he were resurrected, how would he offer her his Soul Power?
Qin Sisi looked helplessly at Ye You. Ye You shook his head slightly, seemingly sidling away from any hopes for the ghost.
Hence, Qin Sisi plainly and decisively responded, "I can’t do that."
The man glared loathingly at Qin Sisi, yelling out in despair, "Can’t do it? Why should I give you my soul power if you can’t do it? Who do you think you are, trying to fool
for nothing? Dream on!"
The man’s insults grew increasingly vile. Qin Sisi’s temper flared. With a swift pull, the Divine Dog’s Fury fell into her palm. Just as she was about to deal a heavy blow to the sullen and ungrateful man, a purple glow flashed beside her. A small cluster of purple flas dropped onto the man’s leg and began to burn rapidly.
The man was startled and hastily tried to pat out the flas on his leg. However, the divine-powered Ziwei Heaven Fire couldn’t be easily extinguished, could it?
Seeing the flas growing more intense, the man finally collapsed from exhaustion with a few painful cries. Suddenly, he stopped taking note of the blazing flas and crawled towards the bed. He lifted the dirty pillow, revealing a string of sandalwood Buddha Beads underneath.
The mont the man saw the Buddha Beads, he seed to have grasped onto a lifeline. His eyes lighted up as he murmured to himself, "My amulet, my amulet..." As he spoke, he reached out to grab the string of beads.
The instant his fingers touched the Buddha Beads, they exploded with an intense gold light so dazzling it was almost blinding. The golden light pierced unresistingly through the man’s ghost. The man scread out as his ghost quickly dissipated under the radiance of the golden light, eventually leaving behind nothing.
Qin Sisi had her mouth slightly ajar, staring in shock at the scene before her. She did not expect such a simple-looking string of Buddha Beads to possess such imnse power.
After the man’s ghost completely vanished, the Ziwei Heaven Fire extinguished and the Buddha Beads’ golden light also faded away. The aged and unadorned sandalwood-colored Buddha Beads quietly sat on the discolored bedsheets, as if the previous thrilling scene had never happened.
It was a while before Qin Sisi snapped back to reality. She bafflingly asked Ye You, "What just happened?"
Ye You squinted his eyes and replied, "Seems like those Buddha Beads are the powerful thing Xiao Dan was talking about. Bring them over for a look."
"Oh." Qin Sisi walked forward. Just as she stretched out her hand to reach for it, the scene from monts ago played in her mind. Her heart montarily crawled with fear as she hesitated to ask, "We won’t end up like him, right?"
Ye You assured her very decisively, "We won’t. This type of magical treasure only affects ghosts. It won’t harm humans."
Qin Sisi felt relieved and picked up the Buddha Beads, placing them in the palm of her hand and holding them up to Ye You.
Ye You scrutinised the beads for a mont before coldly snorting, "As expected, a good item. It’s been consecrated and has symbols drawn with a mage’s blood. No wonder it can vanquish evil and eliminate ghosts."
This powerful? Qin Sisi was also curious as she held it up to take a closer look but, naturally, couldn’t discern anything. However, after so thought, she said, "That man ntioned that this was his amulet. It seems like he committed nurous deeds and was afraid of nightti hauntings, so he got such a powerful magical treasure for protection."
Ye You softly laughed, "What a pity he didn’t realize that it wasn’t a ghost seeking revenge, but a cat."
Qin Sisi added, "In his desperation, he forgot that he was now a ghost and wanted to use the amulet to save his life. In the end, his very own protective charm ultimately destroyed him."
