Chapter 472: Chapter 472: The Sneak Attack of the Water Ghost _1
Qin Sisi took control of the Wings of Rainbow, flying low over the sea towards the depths of the ocean.
Moonlight, the sea, a girl in black, a black cat, and the luminous wings.
The combination of these elents created an unforgettable sight of striking visual impact.
Even many years later, having witnessed even more awe-inspiring vistas of mountains and oceans, Qin Sisi could still recall the first ti she saw the sea with Ye You by her side.
Apart from the awe-inspiring sea under the moonlight, the most significant reason was that it was her first experience of the sensation of her soul leaving her body. Unconscious, she was on the brink of death.
Ye You perched on Qin Sisi’s shoulder, his purple eyes darting around alertly in search of any abnormal essences.
All that t his gaze, however, was a vast and desolate divine-sea region.
They continued their flight for a long ti without encountering anything.
They didn’t mind the lack of discovery or feel any regret. They were simply accompanying Qin Sisi as she observed the sea under the moonlight.
Ye You had anticipated this outco. The sea was ruthless, taking countless lives.
But the power of nature was not sothing that a few insignificant humans could contend with.
Even if one’s life was claid by the sea, it was simply fate, and no one would harbor thoughts of revenge against the sea.
The myth of Jingwei trying to fill up the sea was just a legend after all.
Therefore, although many people have died at sea, there should be no wild ghosts wandering about.
As the horizon grew fainter, Ye You decided to turn back.
But Qin Sisi suddenly suggested, "Why not remove the Invisible Bubble?"
"Why?" Ye You was puzzled.
Remove the Invisible Bubble? Expose the brilliant Wings of Rainbow?
Qin Sisi explained, "We have clear visibility over the sea, and we can’t find any ghosts, but if we expose ourselves, we may be able to lure the ghosts to us. Besides, there’s nobody around here, so we don’t need to worry about being seen."
An amused smile appeared in Ye You’s eyes, and he answered in his clear, gentle voice, "Good idea, let’s try it. But I must warn you, the possibility of ghosts in the sea is very slim, don’t get your hopes up."
Qin Sisi blinked, puzzled, "The possibility of ghosts is very slim? Then why did you co here?"
If he knew there were possibly no ghosts here, why did he bother coming?
Ye You remained silent with a smile.
But Qin Sisi suddenly understood. It was for her.
They had co to the sea to accompany her since she had never seen the sea before.
A touch of emotion welled up inside Qin Sisi, but before she could say anything, Ye You had already retracted the Invisible Bubble and chuckled, "Now, any creatures in the vicinity will be able to see us, let’s hope we don’t draw any strange animals."
"Ah?" Upon hearing Ye You’s words, Qin Sisi couldn’t help but feel a little scared. That was indeed a possibility.
Without any delay, she flapped the Wings of Rainbow and flew towards the horizon.
Since Ye You said that there probably wouldn’t be any ghosts, Qin Sisi was able to relax a bit.
Initially, she was slightly concerned that so marine creatures might be attracted by the glow of the Wings of Rainbow and co to bother her. However, after flying for a while without anything unusual happening, Qin Sisi felt relieved.
The horizon was getting closer, and Qin Sisi could already see the lights emanating from so beach villas.
She breathed a sigh of relief unconsciously. The presence of light always brings unexplained warmth and comfort.
Suddenly, Ye You cried out, "Watch out!"
Qin Sisi’s heart skipped a beat as she heard a whooshing sound from behind. Before she could turn to see what it was, a giant wave had crashed into her and Ye You, engulfing them both into the sea.
So cold!
Qin Sisi’s consciousness blurred. Half-conscious, she opened her eyes to a dim world filled with vague, swaying shadows.
Where was Ye You?
Qin Sisi widened her eyes, struggling to search in the icy sea, when she suddenly noticed so light from above.
She quickly looked up, hoping it was Ye You coming toward her.
But when she saw what was above her, she was stunned, her hands and feet turning cold. A feeling of hopeless fear consud her from head to toe, robbing her of the strength to struggle.
Close to her, Ye You had one claw ignited with Ziwei Heaven Fire, illuminating a portion of the surrounding space.
This was the first ti Qin Sisi realized that the Ziwei Heaven Fire was unaffected by water.
What terrified her was that Ye You was pulling a person by the hand, desperately swimming upwards, as if trying to escape from this dreadful sea with that person.
That person was dressed in black and wore a pointed witch’s hat. Why was her clothing identical to Qin Sisi’s?
As Qin Sisi was in a state of horror, the person being pulled by Ye You suddenly lowered her head to look at Qin Sisi, revealing a profound smile.
Qin Sisi almost scread. That face was identical to hers.
Suddenly, a thought flashed across her mind.
No, it wasn’t just identical. It was her.
The person being held by Ye You was her!
To be precise, it was her body.
Then who was she at this mont?
Just as she had this thought, a fish swam by. Qin Sisi imdiately reached out for it.
The fish seed completely oblivious to any danger and continued swimming leisurely ahead.
Qin Sisi’s hand, however, passed right through the fish as though it wasn’t there.
Watching the fish leave as if nothing had happened, Qin Sisi finally realized the truth. She was currently a disembodied soul.
Her soul had left her body, and her body was still moving. That ant another soul had possessed her body.
Ye You had said that there was a slim possibility of ghosts in the sea, not that it was completely impossible.
In the instant she fell into the water, a lurking ghost had driven Qin Sisi’s soul out of her body and then seized it for itself.
Looking at Ye You, who was desperately pulling her possessed body farther and farther away, Qin Sisi was engulfed by a sense of urgency.
What to do?
Ye You was oblivious to the change in the soul within her body. How could she let him know?
Qin Sisi opened her mouth to shout, but the tumultuous sea water made it impossible for her freshly disembodied soul to make any sound.
In the heart of autumn, the leaves turned yellow. Forced away from the trees they grew on, they were left at the rcy of the cold winds. The leaves withered and ultimately turned into dust.
Qin Sisi felt that she was like a helpless autumn leaf. She had no power to defend herself, and the relentless sea was pushing and rolling her, slowly dragging her into the depths of the ocean.
