Chapter 33: Chapter 33: Silent Like a Scholar, Ferocious Like a Tiger_1
Suddenly, Qin Sisi posed another question, "Xiao Hei, you’re not from here. How co you know so much about the human world?"
Ye You fell silent for a mont, then said, "The human world may not know of the Demon Sacred Realm, but the Sacred Realm certainly knows the human world."
Qin Sisi widened her eyes in surprise. Before she t Xiao Hei, she had no idea that other worlds existed. Although there were many legends about aliens, there was no concrete evidence until now. Qin Sisi always treated those rumors as re stories.
However, the Demon Sacred Realm that Xiao Hei was from not only truly exists but also has an intricate understanding of the human world. Had she not really t him, Qin Sisi would never have believed it.
Ye You continued, "The deity created different worlds on different planes and gave the magic powers to the people who originally lived there. The oldest ancestors in the human world could actually use magic. However, due to a disagreent between the two rulers at that ti, a large-scale war took place. They employed magic powerful enough to destroy the world, causing countless deaths and massive environntal damage. In order to protect this world, the deity took back the magic powers of the human world. Since then, humans were left with their ager strength."
Although Ye You’s words seed like a far-fetched tale, Qin Sisi found them fascinating. She couldn’t resist comnting, "Despite losing magic powers, humans didn’t perish. Instead, they continued to evolve using their own strength."
Ye You nodded and replied, "Yes, after millions of years of reproduction, humans have managed to create a fairly stable world."
Qin Sisi shared her view, "So, the presence or absence of magic powers isn’t all that important."
Ye You pondered and replied, "If nobody possesses magic powers, then there will be a balance of strength."
At this point, Sisi couldn’t help but ask, "What is the situation like in your Demon Sacred Realm?"
Ye You paused for a mont, complex emotions displayed in his purple eyes. He then finally said, "The first ruler of the Demon Sacred Realm has always been the Jiuxi Family, whose totem is the phoenix. The other families have always bowed down to them. Although there are minor frictions from ti to ti, there has never been a large-scale war. As such, magic powers have naturally been passed down."
A touch of admiration appeared on Qin Sisi’s face as she said, "From what you’re saying, the Demon Sacred Realm should be a peaceful and beautiful place, right?"
Ye You shook his head, his face growing serious, "In any world, the law of the jungle prevails. Peace and beauty can only be achieved to a certain extent under the iron-handed managent of the ruler."
After saying this, Ye You fell into deep thought. The Demon Sacred Realm must have gone through drastic changes, yet he was trapped here, powerless to do anything.
Noticing the change in Ye You’s deanor, Qin Sisi guessed that he was probably hosick. She softly reassured him, "Don’t worry, we will definitely collect eighty-one ghost energy within a year. Then you can go ho."
Like a tiny fla that suddenly ignited a glowing night sky.
Ye You’s purple eyes were radiant as he silently stared at Qin Sisi’s fair face. A trace of tenderness graced his eyes, along with a hint of youthful na??veté.
Unable to help himself, Ye You slowly leaned closer. Startled, Qin Sisi quickly averted her gaze, her face flush with embarrassnt, creating an awkward atmosphere.
Falling silent, Qin Sisi bit her lip, hoping to break the awkward silence. She found a topic and asked, "Didn’t you say, you’re going to release the ghost in your space tonight?"
Ye You saw her blushing cheeks and evasive eyes, her extrely shy behavior, and decided not to push her. He went along with her diversion and replied, "Yes, but it’s still early, so you rest for a while."
Thanks to the previous night’s experience, Qin Sisi knew that dealing with ghosts in the middle of the night was tiring. With her day job, she had to utilize her spare ti at ho for resting.
So, Qin Sisi obediently lay on the bed, but couldn’t resist stealing another glance at Ye You. She softly asked, "What about you? What are you going to do?"
With a graceful leap, Ye You landed on the tall bookshelf, answering indifferently, "I’ll find a book to read."
Qin Sisi was sowhat surprised. She had not expected Ye You to enjoy reading.
However, it turned out that her ho, despite not being rich, had quite a number of books, many of which were left by her late father. Similarly influenced by her father, Qin Sisi often read books to pass the ti when alone.
After her father’s passing, Qin Sisi kept all his books with her as ntos. She also bought a variety of new books, which she kept on a multiple-layered wooden bookshelf.
Ye You scanned the books on the shelf, finally picking a thick one with his claw and jumped onto the table with the book in his possession.
Qin Sisi extended her neck to get a glimpse of what he was reading – it was "Around Five Thousand Years". So, Ye You liked history.
At this mont, Ye You had already started reading. With a calm deanor and focused gaze, he read attentively.
Lying on her side, facing outward, Qin Sisi watched Ye You as he read.
An old saying describes the two markedly different states of an army during an ambush and an attack as "still as a virgin, quick as a hare".
Qin Sisi thought this phrase was apt for Ye You as well. He had been fierce and brave when fighting Master Hong Bo last night. But sitting quietly under the lamp reading, he was the picture of elegance and serenity.
Maybe the saying could be modified slightly to "still as a scholar, quick as a tiger".
While Qin Sisi was lost in her thoughts, Ye You suddenly turned towards her and said, "Sisi, get so sleep. Stop looking at ."
The blush that had just faded from Qin Sisi’s cheeks rushed back. She was at a loss. She quickly turned her back to Ye You and closed her eyes. Her heart was pounding like a frightened deer.
Seeing the delicate form of Qin Sisi’s back, a faint smile graced Ye You’s face.
The night was still; all was quiet.
After waking up, Qin Sisi splashed so cold water on her face to freshen up. Then she stood by the table, took a deep breath, and said to Ye You, "Let’s start."
Ye You nodded. With a light flick of his claw, a red figure gradually materialized in mid-air. At first, it was a faint phantom; then it solidified into the shape of a person dressed in red.
