Chapter 304: Chapter 304 - The Strange Occurrence in the Villa_1

Gold floral wallpaper, gold-rimd dark flower floor tiles, a colossal transparent crystal lamp...

In the northeast corner of the living room, there was a golden Valiant Soldier statue about one ter long. The Valiant Soldier perches on a black marble platform, facing in the direction of the window.

Qin Sisi glanced at the statue a few tis before shifting her gaze towards Boss Zheng.

Boss Zheng, understanding her unspoken question, nodded slightly, indicating that indeed Mr. Ding purchased the Valiant Soldier from his Ju Ya Zhai.

Realization dawned in Qin Sisi’s mind. Such a large Valiant Soldier ornant must indeed carry quite a price tag, no wonder Boss Zheng was so concerned.

Considering this, if she managed to handle this situation well, she was sure to earn a tidy sum in the process.

Although Qin Sisi was not particularly money-hungry, the idea of being able to collect ghosts and earn money at the sa ti brought her great joy.

Mr. & Mrs. Ding greeted Boss Zheng and Qin Sisi to sit on the sofa, each serving them a cup of tea; their attitude neither too cold nor too warm.

Qin Sisi didn’t mind, she directly asked, "Mr. Ding, has anything strange happened in your ho recently?"

Mr. Ding glanced at Boss Zheng, then counter questioned, "Didn’t Boss Zheng tell you?"

Qin Sisi pursed her lips and calmly responded, "He did. I’m asking if there’s anything else besides the crying."

Mr. Ding pondered for a mont and replied, "No."

Mrs. Ding also chid in, "No."

"Yes!" A crisp voice suddenly rang out and startled everyone sitting on the sofa.

Qin Sisi turned her head to see a fifteen-year-old girl with a ponytail approaching them with light footsteps. The young girl said, "I’ve encountered sothing strange."

Mrs. Ding scolded in a displeased tone, "Yuan Yuan, the adults are having a serious conversation. Don’t make a fuss."

But the girl known as "Yuan Yuan" answered, "Mom, I am not making a fuss. I really did encounter sothing strange."

Looking helpless, Mrs. Ding turned to her husband for support. However, Mr. Ding, maintaining a stern face, said, "Yuan Yuan, this doesn’t involve you. Go back to your room imdiately."

Qin Sisi raised her brows, turning to the young girl and asked, "Young lady, what strange thing have you encountered?"

Mr. Ding shot Qin Sisi a dissatisfied look, scoffing, "What would a child know?"

Out of everyone present, besides their daughter, Qin Sisi was the youngest. So, this comnt could be interpreted as a veiled insult directed at her.

Boss Zheng quickly tried to diate with a laugh, "Since the young lady insists, why don’t we just listen? After all, ’heroes erge from youth’, right? Perhaps she can provide us with so clues."

The saying ’heroes erge from youth’ was also ant to include Qin Sisi.

The young girl flashed an appreciative grin at Boss Zheng and then settled herself next to Mrs. Ding, repeating with certainty, "I really did encounter sothing."

In a sowhat helpless tone, Mrs. Ding introduced Qin Sisi and Boss Zheng to her daughter, "This is our daughter, Ding Jiayuan. She is currently a high school freshman."

Boss Zheng imdiately greeted her with a cordial smile and lavished complints on Ding Jiayuan, praising her for being beautiful, intelligent, and promising.

After hearing Boss Zheng’s flattering words, Mr. and Mrs. Ding’s expressions softened considerably.

Finding the newly introduced girl quite adorable and unconcerned with the casual attitude of Mr. and Mrs. Ding, Qin Sisi asked Ding Jiayuan directly, "Yuan Yuan, could you tell us about the strange incidents you experienced?"

Ding Jiayuan was initially upset and angry that her parents did not believe her, but seeing Qin Sisi asking her so seriously — a clear sign of trust — she beca quite fond of Qin Sisi.

Ding Jiayuan blinked her shining eyes inquisitively, tilting her head as she said, "In recent days, every morning when I wake up, my schoolbag is neatly arranged. The clothes left on the sofa are also neatly folded.

I thought it must be mom who did it, but later I found out it wasn’t."

The expressions on Mr. and Mrs. Ding’s faces imdiately turned tense, they hurriedly asked, "Has anyone entered your room at night?"

Ding Jiayuan, satisfied with her parents’ concerned reactions, shrugged her shoulders and said, "When I sleep, I always lock the door. Only mom has the key."

Mr. Ding looked at Mrs. Ding questioningly and she quickly explained, "I didn’t dare to go in at night for fear of disturbing her sleep, so I always wake her up every morning at half past six."

Hearing this, Mr. Ding seed a bit panicked. If it had only been about the creepy crying with no other incidents, he wouldn’t have been too concerned.

But now, his daughter was involved. Mr. Ding’s calm shattered, and he looked anxiously at Qin Sisi, asking, "Master Qin, what do you think..."

This was the first ti Mr. Ding addressed Qin Sisi fully.

Qin Sisi gave Mr. Ding a reassuring smile then turned back to Ding Jiayuan and asked, "Is there anything else?"

Feeling even more excited at Qin Sisi’s obvious trust in her, Ding Jiayuan lowered her voice and added mysteriously, "I also heard from Uncle Chen that recently dad’s car tires have been mysteriously deflating."

Mr. Ding turned to his daughter with a puzzled look and asked, "Is that so? Why have I not heard about this?"

Ding Jiayuan grimaced and responded, "Maybe Uncle Chen was afraid to tell you — worried that you would dock his pay."

Caught off guard by his daughter’s words, Mr. Ding slapped his leg and stood up, announcing, "I will go and ask him."

Having said this, Mr. Ding headed towards the door, intending to inquire with his driver, Uncle Chen.

Ding Jiayuan shot a grin at Qin Sisi then gracefully rose from her seat, following behind her father to enjoy the unfolding drama.

Left with no choice, Mrs. Ding politely invited Boss Zheng and Qin Sisi to enjoy more tea.

About ten minutes later, Mr. Ding and Ding Jiayuan returned.

Before Qin Sisi could question them, Mrs. Ding had already asked anxiously, "How’d it go?"

The expression on Mr. Ding’s face did not seem very good as he nodded slightly in confirmation.

Settling back into his seat on the sofa, Mr. Ding turned to Qin Sisi and explained, "Master Qin, Old Chen is my driver. He said that during the first week after we moved in, everything was normal. However, in the second week, my car had two unexplained flat tires.

Every morning, he’d wake up to find the air in all four tires almost entirely gone. He was able to fix the tires quickly since we had tools at ho, so it wasn’t too cumberso.

Since I’ve been busy lately, he didn’t ntion it."

Qin Sisi and Boss Zheng exchanged glances. More unusual events had indeed taken place in the villa than they’d originally believed.

The mysterious crying in the night, a locked room where school bags arrange themselves and clothes fold themselves, inexplicably deflating car tires...

After thinking for a mont, Qin Sisi looked at Mr. Ding and suggested, "Mr. Ding, I’d like to have a look in the basent."

Pausing for a mont, Mr. Ding conceded, "Alright, I’ll fetch the keys. But honestly, we didn’t find anything down there."

Recalling the dark, chilling atmosphere of the empty basent, Mr. Ding felt a creeping fear. Determined, he decided that if the opportunity arose, he would definitely have the basent filled in.
