Chapter 305: Chapter 305: The Strange Marble Platform_1

Mr. Ding picked up the key, called for his driver, Old Chen, and alongside Boss Zheng and Qin Sisi, they descended the stairs to the basent.

Mrs. Ding, being timid, did not dare to follow.

Ding Jiayuan, on the other hand, seed eager to join, but was stopped by Mrs. Ding.

As a mother, she was naturally concerned for her child. Unfortunately, Jiayuan didn’t realize her concern as she puffed her cheeks, resembling a bird wanting to take off but shackled by its wings.

With a "clang," the heavy iron lock was opened. The large security door was pushed open, revealing the dark, sinister basent.

Mr. Ding switched on the lights near the door, illuminating the basent with few bright daylight bulbs.

An icy-cold, damp presence rushed towards them.

Qin Sisi wrapped her shoulders, saying with deep implications, "It’s quite cold here."

Mr. Ding dismissed her comnt lightly, saying, "Basents rarely see sunshine, of course they would be cold."

Qin Sisi glanced at Mr. Ding indifferently, choosing not to respond.

The chill of low temperatures and the cold from ghosts trigger different sensations, but ordinary people usually cannot detect it. Even if they feel the difference, they rarely pay it any mind.

Based on this eerie feeling, the presence of a ghost in this basent seed plausible.

While examining the surroundings carefully, Qin Sisi took a few steps deeper into the basent.

As Mr. Ding had described to Boss Zheng earlier, the basent was indeed empty, except for a few tall mahogany racks, ford as grids, probably ant for storing valuable collectibles.

If this basent was indeed the haunt of a ghost, then logically, the person should have died here, or their body was stored here.

Qin Sisi walked until she reached the furthest point in the basent, her gaze sweeping across every corner.

Mr. Ding had initially looked down upon Qin Sisi, but upon seeing her leading the way, with no signs of panic, he felt admiration for her.

Even he, as a grown man, was terrified in the company of others.

Qin Sisi, being a young woman, remained calm in such an environnt, showing signs of genuine capability.

Apart from the few tall mahogany racks, there was nothing else in the basent, except for a platform paved with black marble, which was probably used to place items.

Qin Sisi felt slightly disappointed at not finding any aningful clues, but it didn’t affect her mood. According to Mr. Ding, the ghost would appear at night, so she would naturally find out its hiding spot then.

Just as she was about to turn around and leave, Ye You, resting on her arm, suddenly grasped her slightly.

Qin Sisi paused. Ye You wouldn’t make such a motion without reason when they were on a mission.

Looking down at Ye You, Qin Sisi saw that he was staring back at her.

When their gazes t, Ye You slightly turned his head, shifting his gaze elsewhere.

Understanding Ye You’s hint, Qin Sisi followed his gaze and noticed the black marble platform.

Qin Sisi slightly furrowed her brows and walked over.

From the outside, there was nothing special about this platform. It was just a cent structure, about two ters long and one ter wide and high.

Black marble was embedded on both the surface and sides. Under the light, it reflected a shimring glow, dark one mont and bright the next.

At this point, Mr. Ding and the others also walked over. Seeing Qin Sisi staring at the marble platform, they asked curiously, "Master Qin, is there a problem?"

Qin Sisi observed the platform, and asked in a serious tone, "Why would there be such a platform in the basent?"

Mr. Ding hesitated for a mont before replying, "I’m not sure. It was already there when I bought the place. I didn’t give it much thought."

Looking at the platform, Boss Zheng said thoughtfully, "It seems unsuitable for storage."

With the tall wooden racks already in place, was there any need to place the valuable collectibles on this platform?

Old Chen speculatively suggested, "Could it be because it’s cool here? This platform reminds

of a bed. In our hotown, many people sleep in their basents during sumr. It’s cooler there."

Qin Sisi looked at Old Chen while shaking her head without a word.

Ordinary people might do as such. But for Mr. Ding, a well-off man living in a villa, wouldn’t sleep in the basent just to save on air conditioning costs.

Clearly, Mr. Ding didn’t agree with Old Chen’s theory either. He just glanced at him contemptuously without a word.

Ye You looked at the marble-bound platform, his eyes sparkled. Nestled within Qin Sisi’s embrace, he let out a low "ow" twice, "Let us leave for now, we will co back at night."

Qin Sisi subtly nodded her head and turned to tell the others, "All right, let’s head up for now."

They left the basent and made their way upstairs to the living room.

Mrs. Ding and Jiayuan were anxiously waiting at the top of the stairs. Seeing the group co up, they asked eagerly.

Mr. Ding, catching their eyes, made a subtle gesture, hinting for them to remain silent.

Old Chen left for the courtyard while the rest seated themselves on the sofa.

Mr. Ding hesitated before asking Qin Sisi, "Master Qin, have you discovered sothing?"

Mrs. Ding and Jiayuan were also intently staring at Qin Sisi, anticipating her response.

Mrs. Ding’s gaze was filled with worry, while Jiayuan appeared more curious.

Qin Sisi reflected briefly, "I did find sothing, but it’s too early to conclude. This evening, I need to stay here. Would that be all right?"

Qin Sisi looked to Mr. Ding as she asked. Mr. Ding hurriedly replied, "That’s perfectly fine. I’ll prepare a room for you, Master Qin."

Qin Sisi waved her hand dismissively, "There’s no need. I’ll be in the basent."

Mr. Ding asked dubiously, "You plan on spending the night in the basent?"

Qin Sisi simply nodded, "Yes."

Mr. and Mrs. Ding sucked in a breath of cold air. The dark, damp, and cold basent was terrifying to visit even during dayti, yet Qin Sisi planned to stay there overnight!

Looking at Qin Sisi’s calm deanor, Mr. Ding began to comprehend. There’s no engagent without capability. It seed this young woman in front of him indeed had so real abilities.

Mr. Ding’s attitude beca respectful. Cautiously, he asked, "Master Qin, should I arrange for so helpers?"

Qin Sisi shook her head, answering calmly, "Too many people might get in the way. I can handle this alone."

The Ding family stared at Qin Sisi in disbelief, unable to trust their own ears.
