Chapter 263: Chapter 263 Guest Starring as a Fortune Teller_1
Qin Sisi remained silent, not wanting to pass judgnt. Everyone had their own hardships and desperation that others couldn’t comprehend.
But, the life that was extinguished prematurely must be resentful, right?
ntioning this, Teacher Yang’s eyes beca glossy, she choked and said, "After that, we were all heartbroken. We intentionally avoided bringing up the incident. Every ti we rembered, we felt so cruel."
Qin Sisi looked at the sorrowful Teacher Yang and pulled out a tissue from the box on the coffee table to give to her.
"Thank you." Teacher Yang thanked in a low voice, using the tissue to wipe her tears.
The atmosphere quietened for a mont, and Teacher Yang lifted her head, asking Qin Sisi, "Miss Qin, what do you an by asking about this?"
Qin Sisi contemplated for a mont and said, "I can’t tell you right now. I’ll stay here tonight and deal with the unclean thing that’s following the child."
Teacher Yang widened her eyes in shock and exclaid, "Unclean thing? Are you saying..."
Qin Sisi t Teacher Yang’s gaze and nodded, saying, "The sa situation as Xie Kexin."
Teacher Yang weakly slumped onto the sofa, half fearful, half anxious. She murmured, "Why would it be like this? He is just a child, he’s so young."
Seeing the flustered Teacher Yang, Qin Sisi comforted, "Don’t worry too much, children have a weaker Yang energy and are easily scared. It will be better when he grows up."
Teacher Yang gave a sigh of relief and pleaded, "Miss Qin, you must help
drive that thing away, we can’t let it harm my child any longer."
Qin Sisi’s eyes flickered and she responded, "I’ll do my best."
Teacher Yang said sowhat angrily, "These nonsensical things are just too hateful, look at what they’ve done to my child!"
Qin Sisi didn’t respond, but silently sighed in her heart.
If Teacher Yang knew the truth, she probably wouldn’t say that.
Teacher Yang lowered her worried eyes, then suddenly thought of sothing and turned to Qin Sisi, "Miss Qin, have you had dinner yet?"
"Uh... it’s fine, I’m not hungry." Qin Sisi had slept after lunch, and as soon as she was awakened by Teacher Yang’s call, she imdiately rushed over. Indeed, she had not eaten dinner yet, but as she was not very acquainted with Teacher Yang, she felt a little embarrassed to admit it.
Despite Qin Sisi’s reluctance, Teacher Yang promptly asked Wang Jie to go to the kitchen to prepare so food.
Wang Jie crisply agreed and efficiently went into the kitchen to rinse the rice and pick so vegetables.
Teacher Yang forced a smile and said to Qin Sisi, "After being tornted by my child’s situation for a whole day and night, I haven’t eaten much either. Let’s eat together."
Now that the food was already being prepared, there didn’t seem to be a need for any more politeness. Qin Sisi nodded, "Alright."
An hour later, Wang Jie had the table set with four dishes and a soup and called Teacher Yang and Qin Sisi over to eat.
With her mind still occupied with worry, Teacher Yang didn’t have much of an appetite. She told Wang Jie and Qin Sisi to start eating first while she went to the bedroom to check on her child, intending only to have so soup later.
Thus, Wang Jie and Qin Sisi sat down at the dining table. Wang Jie served Qin Sisi so rice and placed it in front of her with courtesy.
"Thank you, Wang Jie." Qin Sisi smiled in appreciation, she placed Ye You on the ground.
Ye You sat quietly at Qin Sisi’s feet, waving his tail tip leisurely.
Out of politeness, it wasn’t appropriate to let Ye You eat at the table in other people’s houses.
While eating, Wang Jie lowered her voice and asked Qin Sisi mysteriously, "Miss Qin, you’ve been accompanied by an immortal, right?"
Qin Sisi was startled for a mont, understanding Wang Jie’s aning. People believed that psychics or mages who could communicate with spirits always had a powerful immortal entity accompanying them, which bestowed them so of the immortal ability. They could summon souls and exorcise ghosts using the power of this entity.
After thinking about it, Qin Sisi lightly nodded--Ye You might as well be considered an immortal.
Upon seeing that she was right, Wang Jie’s excitent grew. She continued addressing Qin Sisi, "Teacher Yang is an educated woman. She didn’t think of this until I reminded her that she could seek soone with an aura of the immortals."
Qin Sisi smiled and didn’t say anything, just kept eating her food silently.
After looking at Qin Sisi, Wang Jie decided to take a chance. She leaned in and whispered, "Miss Qin, could you take a look at
too?"
"Ah?" Qin Sisi stared at Wang Jie, surprised. What was she supposed to look at? Her fortune?
Wang Jie said earnestly, "Here’s the thing. My son is in his senior year preparing for the college entrance exams next year. Could you see if he could get into a good university?"
Qin Sisi didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. She really didn’t know how to do that, Wang Jie truly took her for a fortune teller like those sitting by the bridge wearing sunglasses and holding fans.
While laughing awkwardly, Qin Sisi lowered her head to look at Ye You, her eyes begging him for help.
But Ye You just rolled his eyes, showing a disdaining expression.
Qin Sisi felt a rush of anxiousness, and the quail egg on her chopsticks slipped onto the table.
Qin Sisi quickly recovered, she put down her chopsticks, picked up the quail egg with her hands and said to Ye You, "Xiao Hei, this is for you."
She bent down to place the quail egg in front of Ye You and pinched his small ear.
Ye You lifted his head and stared unhappily at Qin Sisi.
Qin Sisi pouted back at him, her eyes pleading and a bit of a spoiled expression.
Ye You sighed in resignation and owed, "I can’t."
Qin Sisi opened her mouth to say sothing but decided against it. Her hopes were completely crushed.
True, Ye You knew magic, could catch ghosts, and make elixirs. But he apparently didn’t know how to read faces or tell fortunes.
Seeing Qin Sisi’s dilemma and embarrassnt, Ye You suggested, "Why don’t you say he can get in? Don’t people like to hear nice things?"
A smile appeared at the corner of Qin Sisi’s mouth. She quickly thought of a plan in her mind and slowly straightened her back.
Just as Qin Sisi sat back down at the table, Wang Jie respectfully placed a hundred-dollar bill in front of her.
Unconsciously, Qin Sisi jerked backward and asked, "Wang Jie, what are you doing?"
Wang Jie smiled nervously and said, "Don’t panic, Miss Qin. I know the rules, it’s not free. It’s a token of my sincerity, please don’t refuse."
Seeing the hundred-dollar bill, Qin Sisi felt it burn in her hands.
She didn’t feel this way when Director Liu had given her ten thousand. That was because she had genuinely helped him.
But Wang Jie’s request was sothing she didn’t know how to do!
Noticing Qin Sisi’s hesitation, Ye You owed again, "She just wants to buy peace of mind. If you say you can’t see it, she might believe that her son won’t do well in the exams and that you’re too polite to tell her the truth."
Silently, Qin Sisi nodded in agreent. Ye You truly had a good grasp of human nature.
