Chapter 264: Chapter 264: Eyes Without Eyelids_1

In the end, the helpless Qin Sisi took a deep breath and, putting on a bold face, vaguely stated: "The thing is, the final result depends on many factors, such as luck, physical health, psychological state, and so on. As long as the child studies hard, maintains a healthy body and a good mindset, they should be able to get into their desired school."

Ms. Wang wasn’t very educated; she didn’t fully comprehend Qin Sisi’s words, but when she heard that her child should be able to enroll, she imdiately broke into a broad smile and thanked Qin Sisi several tis.

Seeing Qin Sisi had not accepted the hundred yuan, Ms. Wang hastily ca forward and forcefully stuffed the hundred-yuan note into Qin Sisi’s pocket. Then, she ran back to her bedroom and took out a pair of hand-woven cross-stitch shoe pads and warmly handed them to Qin Sisi.

Given Ms. Wang’s enthusiasm, Qin Sisi felt it inappropriate to refuse and grudgingly accepted the money and shoe pads.

After they finished their al, Ms. Wang called out for Teacher Yang to co and eat.

After several instances of persistent persuasion from Ms. Wang, Teacher Yang, displaying a great deal of reluctance to leave her child, finally sat down at the dinner table and took a few sips of soup.

Ti trickled by, and by eleven o’clock at night, Qin Sisi, with Ye You in her arms, entered the bedroom where Teacher Yang and her child were. She said to Teacher Yang, "The ti is almost right; please leave the room."

The anxiety and concern on Teacher Yang’s face were readily apparent. She hesitated and sought Qin Sisi’s opinion, "Ms. Qin, may I stay here? I will simply stand aside and won’t interfere or disturb you in any way."

The love of a mother is as vast as the sea, looking at the peacefully sleeping baby, Teacher Yang felt waves of pain in her heart; the idea of leaving was unbearable.

Even though she understood Teacher Yang’s feeling, Qin Sisi still shook her head quite decisively, refusing, "Teacher Yang, this kind of situation is not sothing ordinary people can partake in. If you stay here, it will likely complicate things."

Ye You had already ntioned the child is entangled with a very vicious ghost; this, in itself, is potentially troubleso.

If an ordinary person was present, Qin Sisi would be even more on guard for fear of causing unpleasantness, hampering the task at hand and making it increasingly complex.

If by any chance, the ghost is endowed with significant spiritual powers and can possess or hypnotize others, the situation would worsen.

Suppose it manages to escape tonight; an experienced ghost would make matters worse in the long run.

It might avoid Qin Sisi when she’s around, but erge to tornt the child when she’s not, causing constant distress, deteriorating the child’s health over ti.

"But..." Teacher Yang, a sensible person, was thrown into a state of disarray due to her worry for her child. After all, how could a mother willingly leave her child?

Qin Sisi hard-heartedly replied, "Teacher Yang, Xie Kexin’s parents also waited outside the ward all night last night, only then could I treat Kexin successfully. It’s really late now, if you continue to stay, I am not sure I can sort things out. You’ll have to rember, if I fail, the one to suffer will be your child."

Teacher Yang’s face paled, and with no other option, she stood up, her eyes brimming with tears, as she took one last look at her child. Choking up, she told Qin Sisi, "Ms. Qin, I am entrusting my child to you. Please save him, I beg you."

Qin Sisi nodded, and said as calmly as she could, "I will do my best. But rember, no matter what you hear, you mustn’t co in; otherwise, you will harm him."

Teacher Yang gritted her teeth and nodded fiercely. Then, with a heavy heart, she turned around and left the room.

Qin Sisi followed and locked the door not because she didn’t trust Teacher Yang, but because people often lose control over their actions under extre tension and worry.

As the night grew deeper, the yang energy in the air continued to weaken. Those ghosts that fear sunlight and dare not show themselves during the day were starting their activities in the increasingly dense yin energy, at their most spirited.

The small infant was lying flat on the bed, a peaceful expression on his face, his eyes tightly shut. His long eyelashes casting a faint shadow, his gentle breathing could be heard if you got close enough.

Qin Sisi sat beside the baby, glancing at him now and then, while also looking around the room - her right hand clutching the jet-black Divine Dog’s Fury.

Ye You snuggled in Qin Sisi’s arms. He seed lazy, but his profound, sharp, purple eyes revealed a bright alertness.

At midnight, the light in the room suddenly dimd significantly.

Looking up, Qin Sisi saw the light was still on and there was no change in the doors and windows, yet it was visibly darker.

Looking down, Qin Sisi exchanged a glance with Ye You. Her face was calm, but her body was on high alert.

He, or she, must have arrived.

Feigning indifference, Qin Sisi curved her lips slightly and began stroking Ye You’s fur while holding him.

Her head drooped slightly, eyes no longer darting around; she was intently listening for minute sounds in the room. At the sa ti, she used her skin to sense the chilling aura when the ghost manifested itself.

However, Ye You closed his eyes; he was quietly releasing magic to sense the ghost’s presence.

A mont later, Qin Sisi could increasingly feel the chilly aura, particularly above her head, as if gusts of cold wind were intermittently blowing down, making her scalp tingle.

Qin Sisi’s head was originally lowered, but feeling the discomfort, she tilted her head slightly in puzzlent.

Suddenly, as if sothing had crossed her mind, she abruptly looked up towards the ceiling.

Following that, Qin Sisi sharply inhaled.

She saw a pair of eyes, eyes that were unwaveringly staring back at Qin Sisi.

What kind of eyes were they?

Big and round, lacking eyelids, half of the eyeballs protruded outward, surrounded by a chillingly white sclera enclosing the dark pupils.

The pupils were dark but seed fixed in place, completely devoid of life.

As for the body possessing those eyes, it hardly counted as a body, rely resembling an irregular clump of flesh.

Shivering with fear, Qin Sisi tried hard to suppress her scream, but her grip around Ye You noticeably tightened.

Ye You worriedly looked at Qin Sisi, rose from her arms, rested his head on her neck, and whispered, "Don’t be afraid, I am here."

Hearing Ye You’s comforting words, Qin Sisi strived to calm herself down, and continued to look upwards.

The contour of the flesh mass appeared blurry, she couldn’t tell if it was employing its spiritual power to disrupt her sight or if it was its natural appearance.

Qin Sisi squinted to see, only barely making out limbs that hadn’t yet separated from the body.

"Hee hee..."

Realizing Qin Sisi had spotted him, the flesh mass chuckled sinisterly.

In the deathly silence of midnight, the laugh sounded especially eerie, making the hairs on Qin Sisi’s skin stand on end.
