Chapter 191: Chapter 191: Fire Magic Upgrade_1

The two of them sat on opposite sides of the dining table. However, while Qin Sisi sat on the chair, Ye You chose to sit directly on the table.

Ye You gazed at Qin Sisi and said solemnly, "Happy Birthday."

Qin Sisi’s pink cheeks brightened with a smile as she gently replied, "Thank you."

The pair laughed together, warmth spreading through the air. Qin Sisi was feeling as sweet and delightful as the birthday cake she held in her hands.

After finishing the cake, Ye You unexpectantly discovered the birthday candles in the cake box. Puzzled, he asked Qin Sisi, "What’s this?"

Qin Sisi glanced at it and explained, "These are birthday candles—you light as many as your age and stick them on the cake."

Ye You was taken aback. Finally realizing his mistake, he apologetically said, "I didn’t know about this step. I made a blunder."

Qin Sisi gently laughed and said, "It’s fine, it isn’t a big deal."

Despite Qin Sisi’s reassurance, Ye You was still a little upset and asked, "Can we light them now?"

Qin Sisi hesitated before replying, "Usually, the candles are lit before the cake is cut."

Ye You sighed regretfully and apologized, "Alright, I’ll rember that for the next ti."

Qin Sisi nodded in response, a smile tugging at her lips. She then invited Ye You to begin eating.

Looking at the sumptuous spread on the table, Qin Sisi jested, "You spent quite a fortune again, didn’t you?"

Ye You winked and replied, "Are we out of money? We can go round the antique market again tomorrow."

Qin Sisi shook her head and laughed, "No need. The money we have is enough to last us a year. We aren’t purchasing anything expensive."

The string of Buddha Beads and the blue and white porcelain altogether were sold for 180,000 yuan. They gave Lin Shan 20,000 yuan, and in order to appease the ghost of Tan Ke, they gave his parents 50,000 yuan. There was still 110,000 yuan left with Qin Sisi.

While this amount of money may not be much for the wealthy, for Qin Sisi, who grew up in an ordinary family, it was enough to sustain her for a year.

Ye You’s eyes shimred as he said, "Sisi, feel free to buy anything you want. We can always earn more money."

After so thought, Qin Sisi replied, "But, I really can’t co up with anything that I need to buy."

Ye You chuckled and said, "Well then, tell

when you think of sothing."

Qin Sisi pressed her lips together and nodded lightly.

The two of them couldn’t finish all the food on the table, so they planned to reheat and eat the leftovers.

During dinner, Qin Sisi received another call from Ning Hao.

Ning Hao seed a bit hesitant as he said, "Sisi, I was wondering... do you have any updates on that matter?"

Qin Sisi replied, "Not yet, I will inform you as soon as I get any news."

Ning Hao simply replied, "Oh," then added, "If you need financial assistance, just let

know."

Qin Sisi paused briefly before denying, "No need for that, don’t worry."

After a mont of silence, Ning Hao said, "Have you had dinner? I’d like to take you out to eat as a token of my appreciation."

Qin Sisi slightly frowned before declining, "No need for that, I’m eating right now."

He was once again refused by Qin Sisi, leaving Ning Hao feeling more disappointed than before. Not wanting to press any further, he casually spoke a few more words and then ended the call.

After putting down her phone, Qin Sisi subconsciously glanced at Ye You.

Ye You showed no signs of being upset. Noticing Qin Sisi looking his way, he humorously said, "I didn’t realize my Sisi is so popular. It seems I have to work harder!"

"Stop talking nonsense." Qin Sisi retorted, playfully giving Ye You a stern look.

Ye You smiled and chose to stay silent. Since Qin Sisi had made a promise, he chose to trust her.

After dinner, Ye You started teaching Qin Sisi a new Fire Magic skill. The new skill was slightly more complex than Fire Ignition Skill, known as Fireball Technique. As the na suggests, it is a technique in which Fire Magic is used to conjure a fireball to attack opponents.

In recent tis, Qin Sisi had been practicing the Fire Ignition Skill diligently and was now able to successfully perform it every ti. Fireball Technique followed the sa principles, but required more Magical Power.

Fire Ignition Skill was a basic Fire Magic skill and was generally safe to practice. But since Fireball Technique was a little advanced, to ensure the safety of their house, Ye You had deliberately set up a magical barrier for Qin Sisi to practice within. This way, no matter what happened during the practice, their house would be safe from damage.

Inside the barrier, Ye You placed a small wooden log on the table and told Qin Sisi, "Let’s start with a small goal: try to char this log."

Qin Sisi stood about three ters away from the log, pulled herself together, summoned her inner Magical Power, ntally chanting the incantation for the Fireball Technique, and swiftly thrust her palm towards the log.

Of course, the first attempt wasn’t successful.

Just like the Fire Ignition Skill, the initiation phase of a new skill training was always filled with continuous failures.

Due to insufficient cohesion of Magical Power, she wasn’t able to summon enough power from the fire spirit, and thus couldn’t form a Fireball.

After a few hours, Qin Sisi’s success rate was still at zero.

The last few hours of Qin Sisi’s 23rd birthday passed amidst repeated attempts and failures.

Although she didn’t succeed even once, Qin Sisi had given her all. After hours of rigorous practice, she was now pale and completely drained.

Seeing that Qin Sisi had reached her limit, Ye You took the log away, removed the barrier, and said to her, "Take a break now. We’ll continue tomorrow."

Qin Sisi felt thoroughly exhausted. Understanding the futility of pushing herself further, she conceded. After washing her face, she rested on the couch.

Half an hour later, when she had recovered a bit, her phone ’dinged’ with a new text notification.

Assuming that the ssage might be from Lan Di, Qin Sisi quickly checked her phone—sure enough, Lan Di had so news regarding the matter he was tracing for Ning Hao.

According to the information gathered by Lan Di, after the death of Ning Hao’s parents, their spirits had followed the ssenger of Death to the Underworld. After waiting in line for a certain period, they got reincarnated.

Lan Di did not elaborate on what happened after their reincarnation. Prior to this, he had already made a pact with Qin Sisi, that he would not disclose the situations of the deceased souls’ reincarnations to their living relatives as it could create unnecessary complications.

Qin Sisi had agreed to this, promising to not put Lan Di in a difficult position.

As for Ning Hao’s sister, Ning Yue, Lan Di said there was no record in the Underworld of her spirit returning and being reincarnated. Hence, her spirit was probably still wandering in the human world as a wild ghost.

After reading the ssage, Qin Sisi texted Lan Di a simple "thank you."

Checking the ti, Qin Sisi noticed that it was close to one in the morning. After so hesitation, and after discussing with Ye You, she decided to call Ning Hao. She had promised him that she would notify him as soon as she had any news.
