Chapter 187: Chapter 187 - I am scared_1
Ning Hao took his ti with his cigarette, extinguishing it and tossing it into the car ashtray roughly ten minutes later.
With a long sigh, Ning Hao finally started addressing the matter at hand: "Sisi, as you already know, my parents and sister are all deceased. What I want to know is, have they been reincarnated, or are they wandering as wild ghosts in a place I can’t see? Can you help
with this?"
Ning Hao looked deeply into Qin Sisi’s eyes, and despite his emotions being hidden behind his sunglasses, Qin Sisi could feel his anticipation.
If it was just about finding a ghost, Lan Di should be able to help.
Moreover, aside from voicing his opinion on significant matters, Ye You had been letting Qin Sisi make independent decisions. However, Qin Sisi still liked to consult him on things.
Qin Sisi lowered her gaze slightly, her palm softly sliding over Ye You’s back. Ye You’s ears twitched a little, but he didn’t make any other movents.
So, Ye You didn’t object to this either.
Thus, Qin Sisi told Ning Hao: "I can try."
A look of gratitude appeared on Ning Hao’s face. Although he knew Qin Sisi had special abilities, this matter was so surreal that he dared not hold out too much hope. Now that Qin Sisi had agreed to help, he felt an overwhelming surge of emotion and seized Qin Sisi’s hand, saying, "Sisi, thank you."
Ning Hao’s sudden move startled Qin Sisi. She quickly pulled her hand from Ning Hao’s grip, avoiding his gaze, and replied in a small voice, "It’s nothing, no need to be formal."
Ye You lifted his head, half-squinting his eyes, a cold light flashing within his purple pupils.
Ning Hao didn’t notice Ye You’s hostility, for his eyes only held Qin Sisi’s flustered and shy expression.
After a pause, Ning Hao said awkwardly, "I’m sorry."
Qin Sisi didn’t want this incident to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere between them, so she softened her voice and said, "To find a ghost, you need their exact birth information. Do you know what that is?"
Ning Hao was taken aback and shook his head, saying, "I don’t know, but I’m sure my grandmother does. I’ll ask her when I get back."
Qin Sisi nodded, "Good, when you find out, send
a ssage."
"Okay," Ning Hao responded imdiately.
The atmosphere had inevitably turned awkward and Qin Sisi didn’t want to prolong her stay. She said, "If there’s nothing else, can you take
ho?"
Ning Hao hesitated, then tentatively said, "Have you eaten yet? You’re doing
such a huge favor; why don’t I treat you to dinner?"
Qin Sisi shook her head and replied in a detached tone, "I’ve already eaten. I would like to go ho and rest."
"Alright then." Ning Hao’s response contained a touch of disappointnt, but not wanting to push it, he stepped on the gas and drove Qin Sisi back to their residential compound.
They parked in front of Qin Sisi’s building. She got out of the car, holding Ye You, then turned to wave at Ning Hao, saying, "Goodbye."
"Goodbye," Ning Hao said in a heavy tone, watching Qin Sisi’s figure disappear around the corner of the hallway, a trace of lancholy in his eyes.
Once she returned ho, Qin Sisi found the uneaten al on the dining table had turned cold.
Qin Sisi sighed, picking up Ye You and whispering, "I’ll warm up the food for you. You should eat so more."
"I’m not hungry." Ye You responded dismissively, hopping out of Qin Sisi’s arms onto the sofa, lying down at the edge with his eyes closed.
Qin Sisi looked at Ye You’s indifference, biting her lip. She hadn’t anticipated Ning Hao’s impulsive behavior. She felt sorry for Ye You, yet it wasn’t her fault—why was he being like this towards her?
Feeling slighted, Qin Sisi decided to ignore Ye You and began cleaning up the dishes from the table, throwing the remaining food into the garbage can with a huff.
Ye You opened his eyes to watch Qin Sisi, his eyes filled with complicated emotions.
After cleaning the table and kitchen, Qin Sisi washed a few clothes by hand then thoroughly cleaned the rest of the house, wiping down every corner.
Watching her hustle and bustle around the house, Ye You couldn’t help but feel his anxiety being gradually replaced by worry for Qin Sisi.
After a round of busywork, Qin Sisi finally stopped to rest. However, she continued to ignore Ye You and walked straight into her bedroom, lying on her bed and starting to read a book.
Faltering for a mont, Ye You bit the bullet and rushed into the bedroom, closing the door behind him with a ’bang’.
Qin Sisi’s brow furrowed a little, a hint of satisfaction in her heart. As she gently pursed her lips, her eyes remained on the book in her hands.
Ye You stood in front of Qin Sisi and, seeing that she still wouldn’t raise her head, he jumped onto her book. Lifting his head, he focused his purple eyes on her without blinking.
Qin Sisi moved her gaze away, but she could not stop the flush creeping onto her cheeks. All her earlier irritation had evaporated.
"I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have taken my anger out on you," Ye You apologized to Qin Sisi quietly.
Qin Sisi paused briefly, then replied softly, "Promise never to do that again, and I will forgive you."
Ye You silently contemplated for a mont, then responded, "I promise."
Qin Sisi pressed her lips together and finally reached out to hold Ye You.
Ye You lightly kissed her bare forearm, his voice low and hoarse: "Sisi, I’m a little scared."
Scared?
Qin Sisi stared in bewildernt at Ye You, vaguely recalling his true form reflected in the mirror during the full moon. Even though his image wasn’t clear, she could sense the noble and proud air surrounding him.
And his magical abilities that were mysterious and almost limitless. The man who seed capable of doing just about anything in her eyes was actually saying he was "scared."
Understanding Qin Sisi’s confusion, Ye You slowly explained, "Right now, I’m just a cat. I’m scared that your feelings for
are more pity than love. I’m scared that before you truly fall in love with , another man will enter your heart."
As he spoke, Ye You once again buried his head in Qin Sisi’s embrace, refusing to let her see the feelings of helplessness and despair on his face.
Qin Sisi understood what Ye You wanted to convey. She reached out her hand to softly stroke Ye You’s petite and soft body and murmured, "Xiao Hei, have you already forgotten about the promise I just made to you?"
Ye You looked up at Qin Sisi, his eyes fixed on her. The earlier dimness in his gaze gradually brightened.
He responded softly but firmly, "I haven’t forgotten. Every word is etched in my heart."
Qin Sisi, moved, looked at him, her eyes clear and serene as she said, "Then, you shouldn’t overthink."
The frustration that had stirred him began to subside in the wake of Qin Sisi’s soothing words, and Ye You quickly regained his usual cool composure.
