Chapter 186: Chapter 186: Ning Hao’s Experience_1

Qin Sisi and Ye You had arranged to go out together the following night to look for ghosts, yet, once again, their plans had changed.

She spent the day resting, practicing magic, and by evening ti, cooking dinner in the kitchen. While having dinner with Ye You, her cell phone rang. Qin Sisi picked up the phone and saw Ning Hao’s na on the screen.

"Hello, Ning Hao." Qin Sisi put down her chopsticks, answered the call, and cheerfully greeted him. After the incident at the beauty salon, she felt her relationship with Ning Hao had deepened. They were friends now.

"Sisi..." Ning Hao’s voice sounded a little raspy, with a heavy nasal accent.

Qin Sisi sensed sothing was wrong and asked with concern, "What’s the matter?"

There was a pause before Ning Hao spoke, "Sisi, I just got off work. There’s sothing I need to discuss with you. Can you co down?"

Qin Sisi paused for a second, then asked, "Are you downstairs?"

"Yeah." Ning Hao responded softly, seeming a little downhearted.

Qin Sisi felt that Ning Hao must be facing trouble. As a friend, she couldn’t ignore it.

So, Qin Sisi quickly said, "Alright, please wait a mont, I’ll be right down."

Qin Sisi hung up the phone, told Ye You that Ning Hao needed her for sothing and was waiting downstairs, then she began to hurriedly change and put on her shoes.

After tidying up, she turned back and saw Ye You was still casually eating.

Qin Sisi couldn’t help but feel anxious and urged, "Can you please hurry up?"

Ye You glanced at Qin Sisi and said nonchalantly, "I’m not full yet."

"You ..." Qin Sisi gritted her teeth and walked over to him, lifted him up, and said, "No more eating for now, Ning Hao is waiting downstairs."

Ye You, looking dissatisfied, glanced at Qin Sisi and said aningfully, "If you don’t let

eat enough, I might eat you in my sleep."

Qin Sisi couldn’t help but blush. She bit her lip and angrily threatened, "Believe it or not, when we return, I will cook you in a stew?"

"Haha... I don’t believe you." Ye You chuckled victoriously.

Qin Sisi glared at Ye You ferociously, gave up arguing with him, and carried him out of the room, and took the elevator downstairs.

Just as she had expected, Ning Hao’s car was indeed parked downstairs. Seeing Qin Sisi coming down, Ning Hao opened the car door for her from inside.

As Qin Sisi settled down in the passenger seat, she turned and noticed that Ning Hao was wearing sunglasses.

She had given Ning Hao glasses imbued with spiritual power that allowed him to see ghosts the other night. She had never seen him wear sunglasses before, and he had previously ntioned that he only occasionally wore them while driving.

Though Qin Sisi was puzzled, she kept her suspicions to herself and didn’t imdiately ask about it.

Looking at the black cat nestled in Qin Sisi’s lap, Ning Hao was no longer surprised by their inseparable duo. He said in a solemn voice, "We can’t park here for long. Let’s go sowhere else."

Ning Hao drove Qin Sisi away from their residential area and parked at a relatively secluded park nearby.

Qin Sisi leaned back in her seat, waiting for Ning Hao to speak. To her surprise, Ning Hao remained silent for a long ti.

Qin Sisi looked at him in confusion, even the normally cold Ye You lifted his head from Qin Sisi’s lap to give Ning Hao a few glances.

Finally, Qin Sisi couldn’t stand it any longer and took the initiative to ask, "Didn’t you say you wanted to see

about sothing?"

Ning Hao paused for a bit longer, but instead of speaking, he took a picture out from his pocket and handed it to Qin Sisi.

Qin Sisi took it with a puzzled look and glanced at it. The picture showed four people, presumably a family portrait, with a peaceful and handso couple in the middle, wearing satisfied smiles of contentnt.

Standing beside the father was a teenage boy dressed in an athletic jersey, his lips slightly pursed with a serene smile. By the mother’s side was a girl of around seven or eight in a white dress, beaming brightly.

The boy seed a bit familiar. Qin Sisi took a closer look and suddenly realized that it was a younger Ning Hao.

Qin Sisi, taken aback, looked up at Ning Hao with a look full of questions.

Under Qin Sisi’s quizzical gaze, Ning Hao finally said, "This is the only family photo we have."

Qin Sisi nodded slightly, she had already guessed this. The question was, why was Ning Hao showing her this picture?

Ning Hao turned his head to look out the car window at the slowly darkening sky. His voice was hoarse and deep as he began to speak, "Soon after this photo was taken, my dad passed away. He too was a cop. He died in the line of duty."

Qin Sisi’s eyes softened with sympathy. So Ning Hao, like her, had lost his father at an early age.

Ning Hao took a breath, then continued, "After Dad passed away, Mom was heartbroken. Between working and taking care of us two and grandma, her health declined. She refused to spend money on dical treatnts and a few years later... she also passed away."

Ning Hao’s voice had grown fainter, and by the end, it was nearly choked with emotion.

Qin Sisi’s heart clenched slightly, causing her eyes to well up with tears. After her own father passed away, her mother had also been devastated, working hard to provide for Sisi’s education, eventually falling sick and passing away.

Ning Hao tried hard to control his emotions, and said softly, "Since then, my sister and I have been living with Grandma. We thought the death of both parents was the peak of our misfortune. But when I was in college, my sister also left us due to an accident."

Qin Sisi looked up at Ning Hao in shock. The young girl from the photo, the one with the bright and radiant smile, had she also passed away?

Ning Hao’s mories were raw wounds. He leaned forward, resting his arms on the steering wheel and bowing his head between them, unable to say another word.

Feeling heartache for Ning Hao, Qin Sisi slowly reached over to pat his shoulder, and softly asked, "Are you okay?"

Ning Hao shook his head slightly. After a mont, he slowly lifted his head, reached into his pocket, and, with a hoarse voice, asked Qin Sisi, "Can I smoke?"

With her permission, Ning Hao lit a cigarette with his lighter and opened the car window to let the smoke float outside.

The wisps of smoke rose leisurely, swirling around Ning Hao. Through the smoke, his figure grew blurry in Qin Sisi’s eyes.

The smoke irritated Ye You’s nose a bit, causing him to frown and glance at the cigarette in Ning Hao’s hand, wondering about it in his heart.

Qin Sisi sat silently by his side, waiting for Ning Hao to regain his composure.
