Chapter 185: Chapter 185: The Last Embrace_1

A mont later, the little boy in the dream slowly opened his eyes.

Seeing his mother, whom he was about to be separated from for a hundred years, lying next to him, Lele couldn’t help but be overtaken by sadness and started to cry.

The slumbering couple were jolted awake instantly. The mother hastily cradled the small boy in her arms and gently comforted him, saying, "Did my baby have a bad dream? Don’t be afraid, Mommy is here."

Lele greedily nestled in his mother’s warm embrace. His tiny, delicate arms clung tightly around his mother’s neck, as if he had been transported back to a ti before the heavy rain five years ago.

Lele’s crying eventually simred down to occasional quiet sobs. As he basked in his mother’s gentle caresses, he gradually closed his eyes again.

Seeing her child calm down, the mother didn’t imdiately fall asleep. Instead, she continued to hug her child, her hand rhythmically patting his back, and began humming a soothing tune in a hushed voice.

Ten minutes later, Ye You went to the head of the little boy. With a slight scratch of his claws, Lele’s ghost was drawn out from the boy’s body.

Ye You’s other claw swiftly swept over the boy’s head, collecting the talisman paper that caused the spirit to fall into a deep sleep.

Qin Sisi couldn’t help but say, "Is it over so quickly?"

With a deep voice, Ye You explained, "The child is too young; enduring ghost possession for too long could have negative effects on his health and luck."

Understanding Ye You’s concern, Qin Sisi reached out and held Lele’s hand in an attempt to comfort him.

Lele stared blankly at the mother and child snuggled together on the bed, his heart lingering in the loving embrace he had just experienced.

"Let’s go," Ye You hopped onto Qin Sisi’s shoulder and said to her.

Qin Sisi nodded and led Lele out of the bedroom.

Under the cover of the Invisible Bubble, everything happened silently. The family of three remained unaware of the extraordinary events that had transpired that night. They still lay peacefully on their bed, calm and blissful.

In the living room, separated by a wall from their bedroom, the five-year-old Lele made his final decision.

"Big sister, I will give you my Soul Power. In a hundred years, you must ensure that I continue to be my mother’s child!"

Lele’s big, luminous eyes were innocent and trusting as he looked at Qin Sisi expectantly.

Qin Sisi squatted down and looked into Lele’s eyes. She promised him solemnly, "I promise you, Lele, that in a hundred years, I will make sure you are your mother’s child again."

Reassured to an extent, Lele cautiously warned, "It must be this mother. I don’t want another mother."

Qin Sisi nodded firmly, "Yes, it will be this mother."

Lele finally breathed a sigh of relief as if he had completed a significant and important task.

Seeing that Lele was ready, Ye You summoned the Spirit Conversion Bottle with a wave of his claw.

The beautifully white bottle hung suspended in mid-air, rotating and shining against the background of pure darkness, emphasizing its elegance and flawlessness.

Lele curiously looked at the Spirit Conversion Bottle, feeling its pull and call to him.

"Goodbye, big sister."

With his last toddler-like voice echoing, Lele’s diminutive figure transford into a faint cloud of white smoke, gradually moving towards the Spirit Conversion Bottle. Eventually, he entered entirely through the slender neck of the bottle.

With a wave of Ye You’ claw, the Spirit Conversion Bottle returned to his claw, then disappeared.

Watching the disappearing Spirit Conversion Bottle, Qin Sisi felt a trace of indefinable lancholy and sighed lightly.

Ye You reminded her from the side, "Let’s go back first. The Invisibility Bubble’s ti is almost up."

"Okay," Qin Sisi agreed before carrying Ye You to the balcony of the house. She jumped out of the open window through which they had entered.

The Wings of Rainbow was summoned once more. In the pitch-black night, under Qin Sisi’s control, they flew back in the direction they had co.

Upon returning ho, the first thing that caught their eyes was the pile of colorful balloons that Lan Di had given Lele the night before.

Qin Sisi looked despondent, and a sense of longing filled her heart.

She reached for the most beautiful pink balloon and gave it a light pat. The balloon fluttered in the air before slowly falling back onto the floor.

Ye You peered at Qin Sisi and said in a serious tone, "This is his wish. He will undoubtedly realize it one day. You should be happy for him."

Qin Sisi fell silent for a mont, then said, "Xiao Hei, I certainly won’t live to see a hundred years from now, but I know you can. You must uphold the promises you made to these spirits."

"Anything I’ve promised will naturally be fulfilled," Ye You assured her with a deep, resonant voice. His eyes, though, were slightly desolate. The magic and cruelty of the Demon Sacred Realm far surpassed Qin Sisi’s understanding, and he couldn’t say much to her about it now.

His lifespan was indeed much longer than that of an ordinary person. If Qin Sisi’s magic could not advance to a certain level, her lifespan would be no different from that of an average human.

If this were the case, would they eventually be unable to avoid the departures brought about by birth, aging, illness, and death?

These thoughts led Ye You to fall silent, a difficult kind of pain spreading at the bottom of his heart, filled with haunting confusion and helplessness.

Qin Sisi noticed the change in Ye You’s emotions and thought he was upset by her lack of trust in him.

She quickly went to Ye You and picked him up, whispering, "I didn’t an anything by it. Don’t overthink. I trust you."

Ye You’s violet eyes flashed a look of complexity as he outstretched his claws to clutch Qin Sisi’s neck, nuzzling his furry little head into her soft neck curve.

Qin Sisi held Ye You more tightly, sensing that he needed her.

After a mont of silence, Qin Sisi pushed Ye You away and looking into his eyes asked softly, "Do you have sothing to tell ?"

Ye You hesitated for a mont before responding, "There’s so much more to say, but not now."

Qin Sisi looked a little puzzled: "Then when will you tell ?"

Ye You replied, word by word, "When we return to the Demon Sacred Realm together."

Ye You’s gaze was both firm and gentle, carrying a sense of mysterious determination.

Qin Sisi bit her lip, choosing not to press any further. She trusted that Ye You must have his reasons.

After a mont of silence, Qin Sisi changed the subject: "We don’t have any leads on other ghosts at the mont. What do you plan to do?"

When they returned to business, Ye You’s confusion dissipated quite a bit, and he replied assertively, "Ghosts won’t co to us willingly. If we don’t have leads, we will go out and find them."

Seeing Ye You’s mood lift, Qin Sisi also managed to shake off so of the doubts and sadness that had been plaguing her. She chirped enthusiastically, "Alright, tomorrow night we will go out and find ghosts."
