Chapter 1224: Chapter 1224 Ghost Illusion Maze

Three people were walking through the lush and shady forest, encountering quite a few Demonic Beasts along the way, but none attacked them anymore.

Huan bounced along cheerfully, constantly greeting various Demonic Beasts she encountered.

"Hi, Rainbow Tailed Sparrow!"

"Hi, Frost Fla Bird!"

"Hi, Knotty-tailed Lemur!"

...

So Demonic Beasts eyed them warily or lazily without responding; others made gentle, harmonious sounds as if replying to Huan’s greetings.

Qin Sisi walked behind Huan, observing her quietly. The little girl had cute pigtails, bright and lively eyes, and a pure gaze. When she looked at the Demonic Beasts, there was genuine tenderness in her eyes.

If Huan truly is the daughter of Phantom Spirit Lian Yue, to bring up a daughter like this, she must be a very kind and gentle mother!

About an hour later, Huan suddenly stopped, turned, smiled at Qin Sisi and Xiao ng, and said crisply, "Sisters, we’ve reached my ho where my mother is. Follow !"

Qin Sisi was just about to respond when she suddenly noticed a sly glint in Huan’s eyes. Then she saw Huan turn and walk forward, and as she passed a large tree, Huan’s figure suddenly disappeared.

She was slightly startled and quickly ran a few steps forward to check around the large tree, but after searching everywhere for a long ti, she still couldn’t find Huan’s figure.

Suddenly rembering sothing, Qin Sisi quickly looked back in the direction she ca from. Sure enough, Xiao ng was also gone, even though she had left Xiao ng’s side less than a minute ago without hearing any unusual sounds.

Looking up, the lush branches and leaves of the large trees blocked out the sky, allowing only sporadic sunlight to scatter through. The surroundings were filled with mottled, large trunks that seed to have weathered much over ti.

However, there were no Demonic Beasts around, not a sound could be heard, a silence that made one’s heart uneasy.

It required no guesswork for Qin Sisi to conclude that she had entered an illusion place created by soone using Illusion Technique magic; no wonder Huan had been so straightforward in leading them here. Lian Yue had hidden away for so many years, how could she easily see outsiders?

Illusion Technique can create inner demons through direct gaze. If the power of Illusion Attribute magic is strong enough, it can set up illusion scenes within a certain area, like a maze that traps people inside.

Qin Sisi knew there was a skill in Illusion Technique magic called Ghost Illusion Maze, capable of transforming a scene into a maze-like view, with an unchanging sky and similar trees all around, creating a picturesque maze.

She thought briefly, then opened her palm to begin gathering Thunder Attribute Magic power. Thunder magic also has the effect of breaking through illusions; she decided to try it.

The Dingze Thunder magic skill was released by Qin Sisi, and with a "crack," a lightning bolt streaked across the sky like a branch. She clearly saw the forest scene around her quiver noticeably but it didn’t shatter; after a mont, it returned to normal.

Qin Sisi was slightly amazed; this Ghost Illusion Maze has high defensive power, indicating that the person who set it up is very skilled in Illusion Technique.

However, she did not worry; Thunder magic is not one of her strongest magic skills. Since Thunder magic is ineffective, she’ll have to use her secret weapon.

With a flick of her hand, the Half Moon zither appeared in her palm. She glanced at the Half Moon zither briefly before putting it into her storage ring, opting instead to take out the Fairy Snow Zither given by Jiu Ge.

If this illusion scene is so tough to deal with, she should give it her all. The Fairy Snow Zither is of much higher grade than the earlier-acquired Half Moon zither and can enhance her Music Magic effects.

Made with Immortal Gold Thread for strings and Thousand-year snow Pine Wood for the zither fra, it is considered a top-tier instrunt.

Qin Sisi grasped the Fairy Snow Zither, deeply inhaled, and began to pluck its strings, unleashing the lody of the Heartbreak tune which floated out with crisp and pleasing notes, stirring ripples in the air.

Magic power was gradually released; her fingers glowed faint purple. The Heartbreak tune’s lody grew more vibrant, becoming seemingly irresistible.

Amidst the alternating deep and bright musical sounds, the surrounding scenery began to blur, as if a vibrant painting was fading with ti’s erosion.

Qin Sisi gritted her teeth, continuously channeling magic power to her fingers. This scene’s Illusion Technique was stronger than any she’d encountered before. If it was truly set by Lian Yue, she could conclude that Lian Yue’s magic source wasn’t truly destroyed.

About an hour later, a "crash" was heard; the surrounding scene shattered like scattered glass, followed by a few crisp birds’ cries.

Qin Sisi stopped playing, gazing around. It was still deep within the dense forest, but clouds shifted in the sky, trees varied in height and size, and a clear path snaked into the distance.

"Sister Sisi!" A jubilant shout rang out, and Xiao ng happily ran towards Qin Sisi.

Qin Sisi realized then that she and Xiao ng had actually been very close the entire ti, rely a few dozen ters apart. Yet, due to being within the illusion scene, they couldn’t see each other.

"Xiao ng, are you okay?" Qin Sisi asked concernedly.

Xiao ng shook her head and replied, "I’m fine; in a blink, you both disappeared. I found it strange and called out while walking, but received no response. After wandering for ages and still seemingly in place, I suspected I’d entered an illusion. I tried using Thunder magic but nothing happened, so I decided to wait for you to break the illusion."

Qin Sisi laughed, "You’re really composed."

Xiao ng also laughed, "Of course, I know you can certainly do it."

A sense of gratitude rose in Qin Sisi’s heart, making her genuinely happy. Trust from a friend is a very fulfilling experience.

From this, she could also deduce that Lian Yue and Huan were not hostile towards them, let alone intended harm. Otherwise, she wouldn’t let Xiao ng stay safely within the illusion for so long.

Perhaps they truly don’t want to be disturbed!

But for Qin Sisi, having co this far, she couldn’t give up when so close to finding them.

Her gaze fell upon a clear path, vaguely seeing a corner of a house in the distance, surrounded by a faint mist.

Lian Yue wouldn’t waste so much ti and magic power setting up an illusion scene far from their residence. This place must be close to where she and her daughter live.

"Let’s go," Qin Sisi called to Xiao ng and set off along the winding path toward the distant house corner.
