Chapter 1098: Chapter 1098: Win 1 to Get 10
The power of Wind Attribute Magic swept him up again and smashed him heavily onto the unforgiving ground, repeating this cycle a total of ten tis before finally ending.
Elderly Fourth, covered in bruises and wounds, had managed to use his magic power to shield his vital points, preventing serious injuries. However, the ten bouts still successfully left him in considerable pain.
Ten hits for one? Elderly Fourth suddenly found this bizarre phrase flashing across his mind.
A man in red swiftly stepped into the cell. Without so much as glancing at Elderly Fourth, he walked straight over to Qin Sisi, bent down, and scooped her into his arms, his gaze filled with distress.
Qin Sisi struggled to open her eyes, her expression one of shock. "It’s... you?"
Jiu Ge smiled faintly. "It’s ."
Qin Sisi tried to say sothing else but felt her mind grow cloudy, her weariness surging uncontrollably.
"Sleep. I’ll take you out of here. Once you recover, you can speak with
then." Jiu Ge’s voice was soft and reassuring, his eyes fixed intently on Qin Sisi without blinking.
Jiu Ge’s words seed to possess so magical allure. Qin Sisi’s body, which had held itself up for so long, finally gave in, her eyes slowly closing. Yet, unease niggled at her heart. The persistent rumors about Jiu Ge and the missing girls echoed faintly in her ears, making them impossible to ignore.
Thus, she could never fully relax. She wanted to sleep and yet dared not let herself truly drift away, her body instinctively stiff and defensive around Jiu Ge.
Jiu Ge furrowed his brow, carrying Qin Sisi as he strode outside. Elderly Fourth flinched and reflexively tried to block him. "Young Master..."
Jiu Ge halted his steps but didn’t turn around, his voice icy. "Elderly Fourth, do you have an objection?"
A shiver ran down Elderly Fourth’s spine, and he quickly bowed his head. "I wouldn’t dare."
Holding Qin Sisi with a grim expression, Jiu Ge walked off briskly. The black-clad woman trailing behind him shot a cold glance at Elderly Fourth, then stepped further into the cell. Her gaze lingered, complex and unreadable, on the group of imprisoned young girls. She bent down to pick up the poisoned needle Qin Sisi had dropped before turning to follow Jiu Ge out of the cell.
It was only when Jiu Ge disappeared from sight that Elderly Fourth dared to straighten himself. His heart burned with indignation, though he didn’t dare speak it aloud. Instead, he vented his frustrations by kicking a few of his guards, ordering each of them to escort one of the girls from the cell as a sacrificial offering for their master.
Jiu Ge laid Qin Sisi on a luxurious, soft bed. Her rigid posture hinted at her deep wariness toward him. Jiu Ge, well-versed in reading the physical cues of won he’d embraced countless tis, instantly discerned what her body language conveyed.
Pulling a Bodhi Pill from his storage ring, he said softly, "Open your mouth and take this pill."
Qin Sisi remained motionless, neither opening her mouth nor saying a word.
"Do you not trust ?" Jiu Ge’s voice was feather-light, like the graceful fall of a single feather, yet tinged faintly with sorrow and desolation.
He sighed gently, casting a lingering glance at the tightly-shut eyes of Qin Sisi before rising slowly. Turning to the woman behind him, Li Li, he signaled with a slight movent of his chin and walked out of the room.
Li Li watched Jiu Ge leave, then stepped lightly to Qin Sisi’s side. Leaning close, she whispered, "Qin Sisi, it’s , Li Li. The Young Master has left. I’ll be guarding outside the door. Rest assured, no one will disturb you. You saved my life once—this ti, consider it repaid."
Li Li’s voice was so soft that only Qin Sisi, re steps away, could hear it. Upon confirming the familiarity of Li Li’s voice, which she had recognized from their three years as classmates, Qin Sisi finally let her guard down. Her body relaxed fully, and she slipped into a deep sleep.
Qin Sisi didn’t know how long she’d slept. When she groggily regained consciousness, her injuries still throbbed painfully in the absence of any pill-induced healing. The barrier within her magic power seed slightly looser but only just barely.
She slowly descended from the bed, taking in her surroundings.
The room was expansive, its interior impeccably lavish. The bed was layered with soft goose-down blankets, its edges frad by pink gauze drapes. White cabinets and tea tables dotted the space, adorned with intricately designed vases. Glistening crystal strands swayed ever so slightly. In one corner, a vibrant screen stood, its panels drawing her attention.
Her breath caught as she saw the designs on the screen, her cheeks flaming with a heat so intense it felt like burning. The pictures depicted scenes of explicit intimacy between n and won—erotic spring palace illustrations.
The screen was divided into four panels, each showcasing a different pose of a couple in passionate embrace.
Qin Sisi’s blushing face turned sharply away from the sight.
But even as the initial stirrings of embarrassnt subsided, a deep sadness gradually welled up within her heart.
Jiu Ge... Are you truly the mastermind behind the missing girls?
Standing in place for a long mont, lost in thought, Qin Sisi eventually walked to the door and extended her hand to pull it open.
As expected, Li Li was stationed outside. Hearing the sound, she imdiately turned to face Qin Sisi. "You’re awake."
Qin Sisi gave a brief nod. "How long did I sleep?"
Li Li’s tone remained calm as she replied, "About a day and a night."
Qin Sisi understood. Her injuries weren’t severe this ti—her bodily weakness stemd chiefly from the poison.
"Didn’t you take a pill? You don’t look any better," Li Li asked, slightly puzzled. Ye You was an alchemist; there should’ve been pills on Qin Sisi’s person.
Qin Sisi smiled bitterly at herself. "I traded it to buy my life, and in the end, I failed."
"Bought your life? Who wanted you dead?" The question didn’t co from Li Li but the voice of Jiu Ge suddenly interjecting. He hadn’t gone far at all—just remained hidden in a quiet corner, silently observing Qin Sisi. Seeing her erge, he imdiately arrived in ti to catch her words.
Qin Sisi didn’t answer. She turned to face Jiu Ge, the young master of Changkong, whose face was as fine as white jade, his eyes shimring like autumn waters. His slightly narrower brows added a touch of fragile beauty, lending his gaze a tender, lingering charm no matter what expression he wore.
Jiu Ge also stared back at her. Purely based on appearance, she wasn’t an unparalleled beauty. So, what drew him to her? Was it the stubborn tilt of her lips, or the haunting stillness in those too-serene eyes?
Taking a deep breath, Qin Sisi finally said, "Jiu Ge, I want to ask you sothing."
Jiu Ge did not respond directly. Instead, he retrieved a Bodhi Pill and a Spirit Revitalizing Pill from his storage ring—both Level Five pills, just right for Qin Sisi.
"Take these pills first," Jiu Ge said, extending his hand toward her.
Qin Sisi glanced down at the valuable pills in his palm but didn’t reach for them. Her gaze returned to him, and she persisted with her question. "The missing girls from Midair City—does that have anything to do with you?"
Jiu Ge’s composure didn’t waver as he raised an eyebrow. "Take the pills, and I’ll tell you."
Qin Sisi paused montarily before replying, "I want a Jade lting Pill."
She still couldn’t summon her magic power, knowing the poison within her lingered. Only the Jade lting Pill could cleanse her system.
"I don’t have it." Jiu Ge rejected her request without hesitation.
He knew that if she regained her magic power, she would leave without looking back.
