Chapter 1097: Chapter 1097: Life-saving Poison Needle

"Crack!" The iron bars of the prison cell were flung open as Elderly Fourth led several guards inside.

Qin Sisi raised her head and scrutinized his appearance: dark skin, two small pea-like eyes embedded in his face, and a dense beard encircling his chin.

She gritted her teeth. If it weren’t for this man, her escape plan would have succeeded. Aside from the Jiu Hua Divine Cauldron, the Level Four Pill and high-grade Magic Crystal Stones in her storage ring had all been handed over to the man in black to buy ti for her escape.

Without pills, without Magic Crystal Stones, and unable to harness magic power, Qin Sisi felt utterly trapped, as if both heaven and earth had turned their backs on her.

Elderly Fourth strode into the prison cell, glaring at Qin Sisi with his small eyes, then pointed at her and gave orders to the guards behind him: "Take her outside."

One of the guards imdiately stepped forward, grabbing Qin Sisi by her arm. Qin Sisi stood up effortlessly, her other hand lightly brushing across the back of the guard’s hand that was gripping her.

"Ah!" The guard let out a surprised cry and looked down to see a small bead of blood oozing from the back of his hand, as though pierced by sothing sharp, perhaps an embroidery needle.

Enraged, the guard fud. These weak, condemned won locked in here—who would dare to behave so insolently?

"How dare you!" The guard raised his hand to slap Qin Sisi across the face.

Just as the raised hand was about to strike Qin Sisi, the guard suddenly felt his body stiffen. He stopped mid-motion, rotated his hand slightly, and realized his entire hand had turned black—a deep, inky blackness that was rapidly spreading up his arm.

"Poison!" The guard’s face twisted with fear as the deadly toxin overwheld him. He collapsed to the ground, crawling desperately toward Elderly Fourth: "El... Elderly Fourth, s-save... save ..."

Before he could utter the word "life," the poison had reached his organs. He died on the spot.

Qin Sisi’s face paled slightly. The venom’s potency was far stronger than she had anticipated. Though the snake venom had saved her life once before, it hadn’t managed to kill the man in black who had been hunting her, making her underestimate its lethality.

Now it was clear—the black-clothed pursuer had only survived because of his strong magic power and the Jade lting Pill he had consud.

These ordinary guards, re magic apprentices without storage rings or expensive pills, stood no chance against the snake venom. Death was their only outco.

Teacher Yirou once said that refined snake venom created the world’s best skincare products, but if it entered the bloodstream, it beca the deadliest toxin imaginable.

Faced with her current hopeless circumstances—a situation not unlike being hunted by the man in black—Qin Sisi once again thought of the snake venom.

She retrieved a needle she had forged during her past forging practice. Coating its tip with snake venom, she chose this short, fine needle, hidden between her fingers where it would be hard to notice.

When that ill-fated guard approached to grab her, Qin Sisi had used it to lightly prick the back of his hand. The snake venom quickly entered his bloodstream, leading to his death, his body blackened and blood streaming from all seven openings.

All of this happened in an instant. Even Elderly Fourth, despite his comparatively stronger magic power, hadn’t had ti to react.

The guard’s grueso death caused everyone present to gasp audibly, their fear driving them to retreat. They cast terrified glances at Qin Sisi, unable to believe that this seemingly frail young woman possessed such devastating power.

Elderly Fourth, being bold and skilled, was not intimidated by the guard’s ghastly demise. Instead, he shouted furiously, "How dare you use poison! You’re courting death!"

With that, he flipped his palm, summoning a surge of powerful magic energy into his hand.

Qin Sisi quickly sidestepped, positioning herself in the center of the prison cell, behind which were all the young won imprisoned here.

"Elderly Fourth, I learned how to use poison from you. Do you really plan to kill everyone here? How will you explain this to your master afterward?" Qin Sisi’s voice was cold and detached.

But inwardly, she was nowhere near calm—she was, in fact, exceedingly nervous. This was a gamble: wagering her and the lives of dozens of young won against Elderly Fourth’s fear of his master.

Elderly Fourth was rely an errand boy. The individual who needed these won for sacrificial purposes was soone else—soone of higher rank and authority than Elderly Fourth.

Sure enough, upon hearing Qin Sisi’s words, Elderly Fourth hesitated. Though he could end Qin Sisi’s life with a single magic skill, the magic would also kill the young won behind her. He absolutely couldn’t afford to kill all the won—their master needed them for a ritual, and if he destroyed the master’s offerings, he wouldn’t live long enough to regret it.

Deeply frustrated, Elderly Fourth suppressed his anger, gradually retracting his magic power.

"You foul girl. I’ll give you credit for having guts. Dare to co out with ?" Elderly Fourth glared at her with his small, pea-like eyes and roared in anger.

"Why should I go out with you?" Qin Sisi retorted mockingly. Right now, staying inside the prison cell was the safest choice. Elderly Fourth wouldn’t dare harm the young won, nor damage the cell itself.

"You!" Elderly Fourth was seething with rage. He swiftly unleashed a trace of Wind Attribute Magic Power, aiming it at Qin Sisi.

The power Elderly Fourth released wasn’t strong, but Qin Sisi’s body had been weakened, her magic power suppressed by the lingering poison. She was as feeble as a normal person now.

Struck by the magic energy, Qin Sisi felt as though she was swept up by a strong gale, only to be slamd back down heavily. The young won nearby were terrified, scurrying to the corners of the cell. None dared to help her, let alone resist Elderly Fourth.

The prison floor was cold and hard. Unable to move, half of Qin Sisi’s body throbbed with numb pain. Struggling to rise, she found that her strength had abandoned her; her body refused to obey.

"Take her out!" Elderly Fourth ordered his guards upon seeing Qin Sisi collapse.

The guards exchanged uneasy glances, none daring to approach.

There was no hope—the venomous trick Qin Sisi had pulled earlier was terrifying. They hadn’t even seen how it happened, yet one of their comrades had died so horrifically. None of them wanted to risk it.

"Useless trash!" Elderly Fourth roared, cursing them furiously. He raised his hand again, prepared to punish Qin Sisi until she passed out completely, losing all capacity for resistance.

Just as he unleashed another surge of Wind Attribute Magic Power, a stronger, more formidable force of Wind Attribute Magic Power surged forth, dispersing his attack instantly.

Before Elderly Fourth could comprehend what had occurred, his sturdy body was swept up by the powerful magic force and slamd heavily onto the ground—exactly as Qin Sisi had been monts earlier.

"Who’s there?" Elderly Fourth roared, glaring toward the entrance. His gaze shifted suddenly, shrinking as he caught sight of the person outside. Instantly, his bravado faded, and he slowly lowered his head.
