Chapter 106: Chapter 106: The Fish is Hooked_1
Not knowing how much ti had passed, perhaps it was short, perhaps it was long, the gentle rays of the evening sun fell gently on his forehead, and a gentle breeze stirred a leaf in the corner, and then, Shi Yan heard his clear voice: "Where are you planning to go? Let
take you there."
A cold, smug smile tugged at the corner of Bai Xue’s heart, an astonished look on her face. She examined Shi Yan warily, declining, "No thanks, my best friend will be here soon."
Ironically, Bai Xue’s refusal only reassured Shi Yan more. If she was intentionally getting closer, she would likely have accepted his offer eagerly.
Shi Yan gave a carefree smile, took out a high-end genuine leather wallet, pulled out a business card and handed it to Bai Xue, announcing in a clear voice, "This is my business card, and that building is my company."
As he spoke, he gestured at the skyscraper he had just exited. Being able to establish a company in the busiest part of the city was a clear testant to his strength.
Shi Yan’s ssage was very clear: I am not a bad person. Moreover, I am a person of status, a successful businessman, a wealthy man.
Bai Xue’s expression quickly changed to astonishnt. She glanced at the business card in her hand and then at the skyscraper before her. She asked incredulously, "Are you Shi Yan? The vice president of this company?"
Shi Yan nodded, "As genuine as it gets." His tone was casual, but there was an unmistakable triumph in his eyes.
Bai Xue’s heart was filled with disdain, but her face revealed growing joy. With a little girlish shyness, she revealed, "Actually, I ca to apply for a job at this company, but I was robbed on the way."
Job application? Shi Yan thought for a mont. It seed like one of the departnts was indeed recruiting a few staff mbers, but...
Shi Yan once again sized up Bai Xue and said, "If I’m not mistaken, the interviews are next week."
Bai Xue nodded, her expression calm as she replied, "Yes, I wanted to co early to beco familiar with the local transportation and environnt."
Shi Yan gave a friendly smile, "May I have the honor of taking the beautiful lady ho now?"
A blush spread across Bai Xue’s pale cheeks, her big watery eyes coy and playful. She bashfully responded, "Then...thank you, Mr. Shi."
"You’re welco," Shi Yan responded genteelly, walking over to the other side of the car. He opened the car door for Bai Xue and made an inviting gesture like a true gentleman.
With a shy, bewitching smile playing on her face, Bai Xue walked over, her white skirt swishing like a blooming snow lotus in Shi Yan’s eyes.
Sitting in the luxurious interior of the car, the smile on Bai Xue’s lips blood like a flower. Her eyes, cold as ice, remained hidden behind her lowered eyelashes. After three days of staking out the company entrance, her fish had finally taken the bait.
Shi Yan seated himself in the driver’s seat, and handed Bai Xue his phone, suggesting considerately, "You can call your best friend and tell her not to co."
Bai Xue gracefully took the phone from him, murmuring, "I’ll just send a text."
When Qin Sisi received Bai Xue’s ssage, she had just ignited a piece of paper with fire magic.
After reading the ssage, she sighed and looked out the window. It should already be autumn in the north, but here in the bustling city of the south, everything was still warm and lush. The tall trees on either side of the street never seed to lose their leaves.
However, birth and death, love and hate, kindness and bitterness, continued regardless of the warm springs or the cold autumns. They never stopped.
The fish was hooked. What remained was to see how Bai Xue would eat this fish.
Qin Sisi was always curious. How would Bai Xue exact revenge on Shi Yan while still causing his downfall? A common romantic scandal didn’t seem to have that much destructive power.
Qin Sisi didn’t ponder for too long because her attention returned to Ye You. Today was the 15th of September, another full moon night, a ti she could summon Ye You’s true form in the mirror.
Thinking about seeing Ye You’s true form once again, Qin Sisi felt a mixture of excitent and bashfulness.
The last ti they t, they were strangers. This ti, they could probably be considered lovers.
Looking at Ye You, who was lying on the bed with his eyes closed, a blush rose unbidden on Qin Sisi’s face.
Suppressing the surge of emotion, Qin Sisi went out to buy dinner. After sharing the al with Ye You, she began diligently practicing her fire magic. After a few days of constant practice, she could almost hit the mark every single ti.
As night deepened, Ye You reminded her, "Sisi, have an early rest. There are things to do tonight."
Qin Sisi wore a soft smile, replying, "Don’t worry, I took a nap at noon. After...After your things are done, I’ll sleep."
Seeing that Qin Sisi indeed was not sleepy, Ye You didn’t pressure her, sitting on the bed and watching Qin Sisi practice her fire magic, occasionally offering a tip or two. It was almost midnight before they knew it.
At the stroke of midnight, Qin Sisi changed into a white gown, holding a beeswax candle that Ye You had just taken out from the Portable Space, and carried Ye You into the bathroom.
Once they secured the door, Qin Sisi was about to ignite the candle with a lighter when she suddenly rembered she could try her fire magic. In her practices, she had always used paper. This was a chance to see if she could light the candle with it.
Making up her mind, Qin Sisi placed Ye You on the sink, skillfully channelled the magical energy from the Magic Source, whispered the incantation and pointed her fingers towards the beeswax candle, crisply calling out, "Fire magic, ignite!"
With a faint sound, a small orange fla sparked at the wick of the beeswax candle with Qin Sisi’s call, swayed a few tis, and then stabilized, quietly burning away.
Delighted, Qin Sisi didn’t use the first candle to light the second beeswax candle, instead deciding to use her fire magic again to light the second beeswax candle.
Ye You quietly watched all of Qin Sisi’s actions, his gaze filled with admiration, mixed with a mix of tender care and affection.
Once the preparation was done, Qin Sisi exhaled, placed the candles on both sides of the mirror, and then crossed her hands over her chest and closed her eyes, counting in her heart, "One, two, three, four, five..."
When she counted to thirteen, Qin Sisi slowly opened her eyes.
Just as she had rembered countless tis, the figure that appeared in the mirror was still as stunningly handso as ever, with ssy hair, a tall and sturdy build, a long dark coat, and a wing-shaped diamond belt buckle, and a row of dazzling buttons in front.
Qin Sisi outside the mirror and Ye You inside were looking at each other. Nobody spoke; ti seed to have stopped, save for the two flickering orange flas.
The two stared at each other for a long ti and a tender smile, like the rising sun, slowly spread across their lips.
