Chapter 107: Chapter 107 Apple and Worm_1
Ye You’s purple eyes flickered with a peculiar light that shone even in the darkness. Under that intense gaze, Qin Sisi shyly lowered her gaze.
Ye You softly chuckled, extending his palm, his fingers spread, slowly approaching the mirror, until it was snugly against the edge.
Qin Sisi hesitated slightly, but seeing the encouraging and expectant anticipation in Ye You’s smiling eyes, she summoned up her courage and reached out towards the mirror until her palm was opposite Ye You’s.
Their hands were perfectly aligned, although what they touched was the cold, hard mirror surface; the feeling in their hearts was as if they were holding hands.
"Do you miss ?" Ye You asked, his voice low and husky, exuding an enticing elegance.
Her heart fluttering, Qin Sisi responded quietly, "No..."
"I don’t believe you," Ye You tilted his head, his eyes, like purple gemstones, examining Qin Sisi’s blush, and a mischievous smirk crossed his face.
Qin Sisi lowered her gaze further, unable to look deep into Ye You’s penetrating eyes, for their intense light felt like it could sear her heart.
The two fell silent again, but the ambiguous atmosphere between them was gradually heating up.
Just as they were in the thick of this tender mont, a hasty shout ca from outside, "Qin Sisi, co out!"
Qin Sisi was startled, and Ye You’s brows furrowed.
After calming herself slightly, Qin Sisi whispered to Ye You, "It’s Bai Xue. She must be here for the Revealing Soul Pill. I’ll go to check."
Ye You gazed at her and softly said: "Okay, I’ll wait for you."
Ye You had given her several Revealing Soul Pills in advance to prevent Bai Xue from suspecting his identity.
Qin Sisi opened the bathroom door and stepped out, with Bai Xue standing in the middle of the room staring at her.
Seeing Qin Sisi erge, Bai Xue abruptly said, "I’m here to get the Revealing Soul Pill."
Without a word, Qin Sisi pulled out a gleaming gold Revealing Soul Pill from her pocket and handed it over.
As for Bai Xue, Qin Sisi felt pity for her, but she didn’t like her personality, not to ntion, she was responsible for the death of four innocent people.
Bai Xue put away the pill and unlike usual, did not leave imdiately. Instead, she glanced at the closed bathroom door. When Qin Sisi had co out, she had seen the flickering candlelight within. A suspicious look crossed her face, "What were you doing inside there?"
Qin Sisi stiffened and imdiately replied, "None of your business."
Bai Xue’s expression cooled. She was proud by nature due to her beauty and found Qin Sisi’s harsh attitude rather infuriating. She moved forward as if intending to barge in without invitation.
Qin Sisi swiftly positioned herself in front of Bai Xue, raising the Divine Dog’s Fury, a weapon as black as ink, in her hand. Her eyes flashed with a cold, ruthless determination as she said, "You’d do well to mind your own business."
Bai Xue hesitated slightly; she was curious about what was happening in the bathroom, but she also harbored a deep wariness of Qin Sisi and the weapon in her hand.
Just as they were at an impasse, a hearty male voice ca from the bathroom, "Sisi, can I co in now?"
Qin Sisi was taken aback, whereas a realization seed to dawn across Bai Xue’s face. She scoffed, declaring scornfully, "So you’re hiding a man in there! I warned you, n are no good. Be careful you don’t end up like ."
Qin Sisi’s brows furrowed deep in annoyance at hearing this.
Bai Xue believed she’d figured out the situation and without waiting for Qin Sisi to respond, she drifted through the wall back to her own room. Despite the elegance of her white skirt, it showed a total lack of warmth, reminding Qin Sisi of the dead butterflies in the late autumn mud.
Qin Sisi stood still for a mont before returning to the bathroom. While she didn’t believe Bai Xue’s words, they undoubtedly affected her mood.
Ye You naturally heard the conversation outside. As he caught sight of Qin Sisi’s slightly downtrodden expression, a faint gloom overtook his eyes. He soothed her: "Don’t pay her any mind. Because she was bitten by a worm in an apple, she’s claiming all the world’s apples are worm-infested."
Qin Sisi paused and then burst into laughter, "That’s quite a fascinating analogy."
Ye You’s lips curled ever so slightly. For Qin Sisi to laugh ant that such words hadn’t left a significant impact on her. He didn’t want their relationship to be affected by such ribald gibberish.
After a mont of contemplation, Qin Sisi asked, "Do you think Bai Xue will willingly offer us her soul power after avenging herself?"
Ye You’s eyes turned forbidding, his voice cold as he responded, "If she is sensible enough, she should honour her promise."
Qin Sisi fell silent. If Bai Xue were to betray her promise, Ye You would undoubtedly not let her off easy. Their efforts from the past days would go to waste while Bai Xue’s soul ets a cruel end.
With a sigh, Qin Sisi hoped that such a lose-lose situation would not occur.
A mont of silence passed, and Qin Sisi looked up at Ye You. She made eye contact with his magnificent purple eyes and involuntarily lowered her head, whispering, "Tell
about the Demon Sacred Realm."
Perhaps, before long, the Demon Sacred Realm would beco her second ho.
Ye You’s purple eyes flickered as he nodded, "Alright, what part of it do you want to hear about?"
After so thought, Qin Sisi said, "Tell
about so interesting things that happened to you when you were young."
Ye You was montarily stiff; his childhood experiences were mostly filled with sadness and loneliness, too painful to ntion or to rember.
After so thought, Ye You began telling Qin Sisi about his process of learning magic. Learning has no shortcuts, and although he was rather talented, he still went through hardships during his practice. Mastering every magic skill was a result of countless practices.
Qin Sisi was fascinated by his story. It appeared that her multiple practices to barely grasp a re fire magic spell was not sothing to feel embarrassed about.
Soul manifestation through objects was a very power-consuming process. About an hour later, Ye You’s magic power was completely depleted.
"Dear Sisi, we’ll et again on the next full moon," Ye You’s voice was low and luxurious, carrying a trace of lancholy. After these words, his figure in the mirror gradually faded until it disappeared.
Qin Sisi sighed and gloomily turned on the light. She looked at her clearly visible reflection in the mirror, holding the tiny Ye You from the sink, and left the bathroom.
Ye You seed to be very tired. Qin Sisi gently put him on the bed, and he imdiately fell asleep.
Qin Sisi lay on her side next to Ye You, looking at his small form, reminiscing about his handso, charming figure in the mirror, and gradually drifted into the dreamland.
