Manhunt
I quickly ca to regret that as when I arrived at the city I discovered that Koga had packed up his base and fled the city en mass without caring about his secret being exposed. Soon my communication device started ringing and with a sigh I answered it knowing that this conversation wasn't going to be fun. "This is about Koga's escape isn't it?" I asked calmly and the one on the other end took a mont before answering. "Not entirely, you likely haven't heard yet since we are keeping it quiet but Koga wasn't the only one who fled after this most recent strike against rocket." Oak said seriously.-
I growled in annoyance before spitting out a na that clearly caught Oak off guard "Giovanni"! "You knew he was rocket?" Oak asked with a very stern tone. I sighed in frustration "Yeah I knew, I've known for a long ti now. Until recently however I lacked the strength needed to clash with him and dismantle Rocket. I admit that I hadn't thought he would be so decisive in fleeing when he's been so careful at hiding his involvent with the group."-
"Surge, Koga and Sabrina all left plenty of breadcrumbs that damned them in their branches of the group but Giovanni never left his full signature on anything. Instead he rely left a large capital G which could an so many different nas it's not even funny. The only flaw he left was how Viridian city was almost untouched by Rockets cris but that could be explained away by his power easily enough." I explained frankly. "If this is true how did you discover his true identity?" Oak asked curiously. "Well actually his subordinates kinda ousted him on accident."-
"See once you know that Koga, Surge and Sabrina were the executives of rocket you rely need to see who they are most respectful of and it's not very hard to imagine that person is at least an accomplice of theirs. They were more respectful of him than they were of even you so that's one thing but when you also consider the reach he has in the league it also makes it clear he's one of the few people able to keep the league running in circles when trying to deal with Rocket." I said bluntly.-
"Hmmm, now that I look back on it I feel ashad of not spotting such obvious clues." Oak said with a self depreciating tone. "It's not anyone's fault. Nobody wants to consider that people they've considered friends and companions for years were really their enemies the whole ti. A sort of ntal avoidance really, not sothing anyone can be blad for. It's easier on the mind to simply look over even the most blatant evidence if it leads to such a devastating place. Humans are social creatures after all and naturally seek to trust those around us until taught otherwise, you've just gotten that lesson rather painfully." I said a little sympathetic.-
"Indeed. The league was created in the hope of mankind working together and hopefully preventing any further wars through a shared sense of belonging." he said with a tired tone. "Regardless we now have both an opportunity and a problem at the sa ti. With both Koga and Giovanni having exposed their selves as Rocket we can nip this problem by getting rid of both of them. The grunts and so higher up mbers might try and revive the group after that but without the masterminds influence they will likely fail. The problem is that we have to find those two first." I said seriously.-
"Besides their flight from the cities there have been no reports as to any sightings of any Rocket mbers. They've likely disguised themselves or fled the region entirely." Oak said seriously and I nodded in agreent. "I thought the similarly. After knowing that I had access to two of their branches servers only an idiot would stay in a place that was likely compromised. Keep an eye on Johto's border and the personnel in the leagues headquarters, those spies will likely slip up when they are activated." I said seriously before ending the call.-
I didn't leave Fushia however as by leaving in such a hurry Koga no doubt left behind so things that he deed not vital. Much like Surge his branches base was located under the gym though much better hidden. Not surprising really given his clans ninja heritage making him understand concealnt much better. I wasn't surprised at all when I found the place trashed upon entering it. Koga had ruthlessly broke anything not being taken with him using pokemon attacks. Even worse the prick had the audacity to booby trap the place as well which proved annoying to deal with.-
Not dangerous exactly as my aura and near godhood prevented from taking damage from these traps but for anyone else they'd have likely died several tis over. Koga's traps seed almost childish at points such as the tripwire that triggered a burst of itching powder but I easily understood these particular traps were ant to make the victims distracted and careless so the actually lethal ones could get them. It was for this reason that besides myself only Hades was out as I looked through the place.-
As I had thought however Koga had been in a rush and hadn't completely ruined everything here. I found a few server towers heavily damaged but not to the point of data destruction as the storage drives were intact. The sa was true of the desks that the grunts used for their jobs. Not much survived admittedly but sothing was always better than nothing. Once I was done with the base I warped myself back to my property to wait for word from the good professor. I more than anyone understood how hard it would be to find soone who didn't want to be found in the wilderness and thus didn't bother even trying.-
That said I wasn't idle at all as while I waited I slowly but firmly pushed myself ever closer to divinity. While I did that I taught the little pixie about cooking, plant care and even about aura. The thing was without a doubt incredibly talented even in comparison to my own long ti pokemon. It easily picked up new concepts and expanded it's capabilities in that field as a result. The only true struggle it had learning cooking was that it was an herbivore and thus couldn't taste any at dishes for the correct flavor profiles.
