Chapter 560: Subjugation

The two battles are happening simultaneously, but at different intensities. One side has only the life of Mier on the line, while the other side has the adventurers staking their lives on the line. One vs. Many. Yet, the stakes are still high enough that it is considered sothing very hard to deal with. And the thing that is causing this issue is none other than the sa monster that the two sides are fighting, the serpent Leviathan.

Right now, Elaina is still pouring the water coming out from the blessed watering can to the leaf-covered arm of Mier that is sohow showing signs of fighting back by forcibly controlling Mier herself. Mier shows signs of fighting back, but since Mier is still a child, against a monster caliber of the Leviathan, Mier is no more than an ant that is struggling against a giant enemy.

"The curse is fighting back. Even if the curse is slowly being cured, it is also trying to reclaim the parts of Mier’s arm that have been purified!" the Harvest Goddess exclaid as she observed the situation.

"You can see the cursed arm beneath the leaves?" Elaina was surprised since she couldn’t see what was beneath the leaf and all the movents that Mier had been doing.

"I am the Harvest Goddess, and I govern a bit of the authority that the God of Farming has; of course, I can see beneath the leaves with my eyes. Don’t stop what you are doing. We are slowly purifying her arm. If you stop even just for a few seconds, the curse might imdiately start its work again." The Harvest Goddess is totally determined to keep Mier safe.

"Ugh... this curse is so persistent! I didn’t sign up for this!" Elaina silently complained, but she didn’t stop what she was doing.

The other kids are also worried about Mier, but all they can do is watch as the situation continues to escalate.

BOOOM!

Even though the explosion did not occur near the farm, the shockwave was enough to cause huge waves of wind all over the town. Despite that, Elaina did not stop and continued to pour water on the cursed arm.

"Looks like the battle is also getting more intense on the sea. It has been a while since the battle started, and it seems that the situation has yet to fully calm down." Elaina’s face turned serious.

"You worried about your grandparents risking their lives?" the Harvest Goddess asked.

"Not in the slightest. They have survived many dangerous enemies in the past, doubt a single monster like the Leviathan is enough to have them kick the bucket," Elaina chuckled.

More explosions occur again and this ti, the ground shook violently once more. The tremors are clearly coming from the fight, but the frequent shaking is enough to collapse a few houses that are not built strongly, and even Elaina is worried that her house will also do the sa. Of course, there are no signs that are happening, but she just can’t help it.

Not too long after the explosions happened, Mier stopped resisting the vines and cald down. The killing intent that Elaina has been detecting since earlier has also died down. It was like she had simred down after everything.

"Looks like the curse is weakening! The purification is ramping up steadily!" the Harvest Goddess exclaid, excited at the progress.

"If that is the case, those explosions that have been happening since earlier might be about the battle drawing to a foregone conclusion. Hope the curse is fully gone after this," Elaina smiled and is more determined to have Mier’s arm purified fully from the curse.

"Is Mier alright now?" Raye asked, worried.

"Not yet, Raye. But it is looking good; you kids no longer need to worry. She is healing fine," Elaina smiled at them and reassured them.

"That is good to hear, Mom. You are truly the best, Mom!" Arthur said and is ready to praise Elaina more by hugging her, but Adelaide stops him.

"Don’t bother Mother just yet, Arthy. I know that Mother is the best,, but rember that she is not yet done with the treatnt. Look, they aren’t done just yet, so keep your hands off just yet. We can’t afford to ss up the healing process of Mier. Her life is on the line, and if we ss this up, Mother’s efforts might be wasted because you disturbed her.

The other kids nodded as well, causing Arthur to scratch his head in embarrassnt. Elaina smiled before returning her focus to Mier’s arm. She can still feel the killing intent, but it is much fainter and much weaker compared to before. It hasn’t fully disappeared, but it’s not as intense as before.

"The curse has to end. And besides, Mier is not your property, serpent! Begone and never bother her again!"

The treatnt continued alongside the battle under the sea. Many people might not know about the incidents and what caused the chaos, but one thing is for sure.

A tyrant beast terrorizing the depths of the sea and acting as a god has finally ended its reign and has been dethroned.

...

...

...

Mier slowly opens her eyes. Her whole body is aching all over like she has been beaten multiple tis, especially her arms. She can’t rember what happened nor what transpired these past few days. It was like her mories had been completely wiped out from her mind.

She tried to stand up from the bed, but even a slight movent was enough to cause her whole body to ache.

"Mier? Mier! You are finally awake! Thank the gods you are safe and finally conscious!" Alessa, who is carrying a few blankets, dropped them in a hurry and went straight to Mier, who is still feeling pained.

"M-mom? What is going on? Ah!" Mier winced in pain when Alessa hugged her.

"Ah! Sorry, Mier. Are you alright? Do you feel pain in your body?"

"Yeah, my whole body is painful, and it feels like my whole body has been beaten up. What happened to ? I don’t rember what happened for so unknown reason, and I can’t even rember what caused

to feel this."

Alessa is about to say sothing when the Harvest Goddess appears, floating in the air and is currently eating a few ripe strawberries.

"You don’t need to worry about it, Mier. One thing we can say is that you are finally free from the pain and trouble as well. You are now free from the grasp of a certain monster."

"W-what?" Mier frowned, confused about what the Harvest Goddess had said.

Before she can fully question the Harvest Goddess, the latter tosses sothing her way, which she catches.

"Eat that. It’s a small pill I created with my powers. It should allow you to recover the lost energy in your body and also to help with lessening the pain you are feeling right now. Of course, it won’t fully remove that pain, but at the very least, it will alleviate it for a bit. For now, you should continue to rest for a few more days. It’s been 3 days since the incident, and you have slept through it like you are not gonna wake up again. A good sleep should help."

Mier is totally surprised and looked at Alessa with questions, but the latter smiled and helped her settle much better on her bed.

"We can talk later about what happened to you. For now, just follow the Harvest Goddess’s words. You should rest for a while instead of moving around for now. That should help with your recovery at the very least."

As much as Mier still feels like she is in the dark, she has decided to follow their suggestions. And besides, her body is aching all over; resting would be a bit better for her than forcing everyone to answer her questions.

...

...

...

"Mier has finally awakened. It seems that she didn’t rember the ordeal she suffered from the Leviathan curse, which is a good thing considering that she suffered quite a lot from that. I don’t think she will like it if she rembers the experience and how hard we have to restrain her since she is trying to berserk he way out just to stop the purification," the Harvest Goddess said as she reported to Elaina, who is carrying a basket full of strawberries.

"That must have taken too much of a toll on her body for her to sleep for a full three days after the purification. The energy that the curse drained from her must be too much. But you don’t plan to hide what happened to her, right?" Elaina put down the basket and looked at the nonchalant goddess.

"Not at all. She deserves to know. And besides, she needed to harness her new power after her body practically did sothing to the Leviathan, which caused the ultimate defeat of the monster. I don’t know what happened, but it is neither the adventurers nor us who are fighting the real body of Leviathan that has subjugated the massive serpent. It’s none other than Mier herself."
