Chapter 2167: Chapter 2166: Giant Eagle

Unhurriedly following along, Ling Feng and Amaterasu kept up with the adversary for nearly a hundred kiloters before the opponent slowed down.

Within his Divine Sense, Ling Feng saw a gigantic pit appear in the wasteland ahead.

This pit was so large that circling it would take several kiloters.

Its depth was also quite terrifying, at least two hundred ters.

The group stopped, unloaded their things, and their mounts began munching on the sparse weeds around.

The people then started setting up their gear and busied themselves on the ground.

Ling Feng noticed they were hamring in stakes to anchor ropes, preparing to drop a large bundle down the pit.

Puzzled, his curiosity about them grew, and he scanned the pit’s interior with his Divine Sense, finding nothing.

"Strange!"

Ling Feng murmured, turning to Tian Lian: "Are these people here to mine or what? I’m not doing anything else today until I find out!"

"We’ll know soon enough, don’t rush."

Tian Lian smiled softly and said.

The two gradually approached the huge pit, stopping about a kiloter away, and watched the people’s movents.

Just as Ling Feng predicted, half of the people donned backpacks, grabbed ropes, and began descending into the pit by rappelling.

Nearly two hundred ters isn’t sothing easily descended, so the process was very slow, prompting Ling Feng to ask the Lord of the Blue Sea.

Turns out he didn’t know either, having never heard of such a thing.

Feeling helpless, Ling Feng could only watch, believing it wouldn’t take long to figure out what was happening.

After about half an hour, twenty or so people finally reached the pit bottom, pulling out tools from their backpacks and starting to dig.

Ling Feng saw that these people indeed ca to find sothing!

What it was soon beca clear.

Soone first discovered sothing in the pit soil, shouted in excitent after picking it up.

Everyone gathered around, taking turns to admire it enviously, and then returned to their own tasks.

Seeing the item, Ling Feng was speechless: they were mining diamonds!

"I thought it was sothing valuable...Diamonds are useless!"

Ling Feng said, ready to leave with Amaterasu.

But at that mont, the people above the pit let out cries of alarm.

Ling Feng turned to see a huge figure descending from the sky, powerful talons clutching a mount each and soaring aloft!

It was a bird-like flying creature, but larger than a typical eagle, as large as a 737 airliner.

With such a creature, grabbing two uniquely shaped mounts was no challenge—it was clearly hunting.

Ling Feng watched with interest, guessing that given its size, these two mounts were probably just one al, enough to fill it.

This wasn’t a big deal to Ling Feng, so he planned to leave. Yet the remaining group began to cry out loudly and even chased in the direction the Giant Eagle was flying.

"Is it really worth it? Are these mounts very expensive?" Ling Feng muttered to himself.

"I think it’s not only for the mounts; maybe there’s sothing very precious on them?" Amaterasu suggested.

"Really?"

Ling Feng scanned with his Divine Sense while the Giant Eagle was still within range, checking the mounts it held.

Ling Feng was then stunned, seeing a specially-made cloth bag on one, inside which lay two sleeping babies!

"Oh my god!"

Ling Feng’s eyes widened.

Now he understood why they were so panicked.

If it were his own children, he’d be equally frantic!

Being a new father not long ago, Ling Feng understood well how precious one’s children are.

After a brief pause, he imdiately told Amaterasu: "We can’t let that creature take the children; they’ll surely die."

"But if we use the Ghost Dragon, Lv Wujang will detect our presence!" Amaterasu responded.

"No ti to worry about that!"

Ling Feng squinted, summoned the Ghost Dragon without delay, jumped onto its back with Amaterasu, and commanded it to take off!

The Ghost Dragon soared skyward, heading straight where the Giant Eagle was flying.

The people around the pit saw its massive body, with many collapsing in fright.

The Giant Eagle’s flying speed was swift, unaware of the Ghost Dragon trailing behind, heading toward its nest.

Ling Feng worried it might notice the Ghost Dragon, dropping the mounts if alard, which would be problematic. He instructed the Ghost Dragon to follow from a distance, not to alert the Eagle.

Flying this way for over ten minutes, the Giant Eagle arrived at a mountain range, then landed atop a peak.

Here was an enormous nest, made from the sa Endless Forest wood as before.

Initially thought to have fledglings in the nest, it turned out empty—the creature was solitary!

Ling Feng chuckled, not understanding why it prepared a nest without young.

Quickly seeing the Giant Eagle land inside the nest, Ling Feng commanded the Ghost Dragon to accelerate and pursue, releasing Little Fei as well.

Two broad-shouldered giant beasts appeared in the sky. Just as the Eagle was about to taste its al, it sensed sothing blocking the sun above, looking up to see Little Hei and Little Fei. It let out a sharp cry and soared upward.

Ghost Dragon and Little Fei were tasked to deal with the Eagle while Ling Feng leapt into its nest.

Ling Feng then took out the sleeping babies from the pouch, finally relaxing.

Ling Feng placed the babies into the Jade Token Space, naturally allowing Tian Lian to care for them, feeling relieved. He glanced at the sky where the Giant Eagle was battling Ghost Dragon and Little Fei, pondering.

The creature’s size wasn’t huge but nimble in the sky, even evading Ghost Dragon and others sowhat.

After watching a while, Ling Feng thought capturing it would be great!

Thinking of Tian Lian, he quickly said: "Help

capture this creature!"

"Yes, master."

Tian Lian responded, erging from the Jade Token Space, and imdiately brought out her own Bronze Cauldron.

Ghost Dragon and Little Fei simultaneously dodged as a beam of golden light enveloped the Giant Eagle!
