Seeing the contract, Sunwoo's face beca filled with shock.

"How did this end up with you?"

He had assud that if the contract had been with Chairman Kang, then Kang Jinwook wouldn’t know about it. So when the words ca out of Kang Jinwook’s mouth, he was already taken aback, but the fact that the contract was in his hands was even more surprising.

"Did you secretly search my house?"

Normally, such things would be stored at ho, Sunwoo thought, questioning him. Kang Jinwook imdiately frowned.

"Do I look like that kind of person?"

"Yes."

Of course. He totally looked like that kind of person.

In the original story, Kang Jinwook had never hesitated to do whatever was necessary when it ca to his decisions. No, there was no need to even reference the original story.

"When I went to another city for a short while, you broke into my house, rember?"

He hadn’t touched anything and had tried to leave without leaving a trace, but Sunwoo had noticed.

The cushions on the living room sofa had been moved ever so slightly from where Sunwoo had originally placed them.

"It makes sense, since you were trying to run away. But it wasn’t

who went to the house that ti, it was Secretary Gwak."

Sunwoo, who had responded confidently, now looked at Kang Jinwook with disbelief.

"What about Secretary Gwak? Either way, it was you who ordered it. You did all this and now you’re acting innocent? What do you an by ‘running away’? I already submitted my resignation and said I was quitting. Why are you chasing

like I’m a criminal?"

"It was running away. You left in a taxi before I could even finish speaking."

"Well, you followed

like you were going to kill !"

Who wouldn't be scared with those terrifying eyes coming at them?

Besides, Sunwoo knew exactly what kind of person Kang Jinwook was. He could bet that if caught, he would have been killed. Even if he hadn’t been, at least one of his legs would have been broken.

"Why would I kill you?"

Kang Jinwook asked, looking at Sunwoo as if it was absurd.

"The way you looked at

was exactly like that."

Sunwoo retorted, clearly frustrated, as if saying, "Isn’t that obvious?"

"No, it wasn’t like that!"

"Yes, it was!"

"No, it wasn’t!"

"Yes, it was!"

"No, it wasn’t!"

"Yes, it was!"

Their conversation quickly descended into a ridiculous argunt that felt more like sothing you’d hear from elentary school students. Sunwoo, realizing this, blushed in embarrassnt and huffed.

He didn't know why fighting with Kang Jinwook always made him act so childish. He wasn’t the type of person who acted like this.

But then again, neither was Kang Jinwook. He wasn’t a cool, collected figure—he was more like a petty child, causing Sunwoo to lose his mind.

Sunwoo shot a glare at Kang Jinwook and muttered inwardly.

"And you said I was on a ti limit."

It was Kang Jinwook who spoke first after a mont, and the tone sounded almost concerned, causing Sunwoo's expression to soften slightly.

"So what?"

Of course, his tone still had a sharpness to it. Kang Jinwook had opened his mouth, but then paused, seemingly hesitant.

This made Sunwoo curious about what he was about to say. Then, suddenly, he noticed sothing strange in Kang Jinwook’s expression.

It was as if… as if Kang Jinwook was sowhat embarrassed. No, more accurately, it seed like he was shy.

"What’s this?"

Sunwoo muttered without realizing it. Why was he making that face? It seed so out of place.

"What do you an?"

"No, why...?"

Why was Kang Jinwook looking at him like that? He was about to ask, but sothing told Sunwoo that he shouldn’t.

Kang Jinwook, noticing Sunwoo looking away, raised an eyebrow. He had no idea what was bothering him this ti.

On the other hand, he was also relieved that the atmosphere had shifted, making it easier to avoid answering Sunwoo’s question. He had been unsure how to respond to it.

The reason Kang Jinwook had asked Secretary Gwak to find Sunwoo had initially seed like a response to Sunwoo’s spontaneous escape. He had believed that at first.

But when he had seen Sunwoo precariously standing on the edge of the Kang family’s property, his surprise at grabbing him was because he realized he was worried.

Worried that Sunwoo, who had a ti limit, had suddenly disappeared and might have planned to die sowhere unknown without telling him.

"Anyway, that’s not the main issue right now. The key thing is this contract, right?"

"Ah..."

Sunwoo was too startled by Kang Jinwook’s sudden shift in focus to realize that he had changed the topic intentionally. Of course, there, right in front of him, was the contract between Subusoo and Chairman Kang.

How had it ended up in Kang Jinwook’s hands? That was a mystery, but more pressing was the content of the contract.

He had to address the most urgent matter first. So Sunwoo took the paper from the envelope and unfolded it.

As Sunwoo read the contract, his eyes quickly shook with disbelief.

The Contract between Mr. Kang Cheol-gyu (Party A) and Choi Sunwoo (Party B) is as follows:

The marriage of Party B and Kang Jinwook (hereinafter referred to as the “Subject”) will be contingent upon Party B’s manifestation as an Oga. The detailed terms of the marriage will be adjusted after Party B’s manifestation and mutually agreed upon by both Party A and Party B.

If Party B does not manifest as an Oga within three years of the contract date, the engagent will be canceled, and the contract will be terminated. At this point, Party A is obligated to provide Party B with the promised compensation, and Party B is also expected to fulfill the promised terms of the transaction with Party A.

However, if any unpleasant incidents occur during the contract period, Party B will bear full responsibility and must fulfill all obligations promised to Party A.

At the bottom of the contract, there were conditions and compensations between Chairman Kang and Subusoo. Subusoo had requested that Chairman Kang stop searching for him and increase the annual land rent, which seed to be a land usage fee.

There were so other conditions as well, but it looked like Subusoo had simply listed things off the top of his head.

What caught Sunwoo’s attention more than anything was Chairman Kang’s conditions. When Subusoo manifested as an Oga, he was supposed to fulfill all the promises made. That wasn’t the issue.

What shocked Sunwoo was the last condition. If the contract were broken due to any unpleasant incident, Chairman Kang had requested part of the land assets Subusoo owned.

The list of land assets that Chairman Kang wanted was on the back page. The addresses and areas were listed, but it was hard to identify which land was which just from this.

"Do you know where these are?"

Kang Jinwook asked. Sunwoo shook his head. With only this information, even Subusoo wouldn’t be able to make sense of it.

Looking at Subusoo’s character after Sunwoo’s possession, it didn’t seem like he would have investigated these things before making the contract.

"No, I don’t really know."

But what Sunwoo could understand from the list was that the land Chairman Kang wanted was located in Seoul and the nearby tropolitan area.

The addresses were all in the Seoul and tropolitan areas.

The real issue was why he had specifically targeted that land.

"Right, you said you had mory loss."

Kang Jinwook crossed his arms and lightly tapped his index finger on his bicep, staring at the land assets list Sunwoo had unfolded, seemingly lost in thought.

Sunwoo couldn’t quite understand what Kang Jinwook was so focused on. This was Subusoo and Chairman Kang’s contract, so why was Kang Jinwook giving it so much thought?

Maybe there was sothing related to Kang Jinwook himself in the real estate?

That thought suddenly popped into Sunwoo’s mind, and he scanned the list again.

"Well, based on what I know, this here is Taesung Construction’s headquarters building. And from here, this is land where Taesung Group’s factory was built."

Finally, Kang Jinwook spoke, and Sunwoo gasped.

"That’s right. I can’t believe I didn’t think of that."

Earlier, Subusoo had requested an increase in land rent. That ant the land used by Taesung Group must have belonged to Subusoo.

Naturally, the land Chairman Kang was targeting must have been connected to that. Instead of paying rent every year or month, it would be far better for Chairman Kang to just buy the land outright.

"Chairman Kang is a cunning old man. He wouldn’t just add that kind of condition for no reason."

"Yeah, that makes sense..."

But then, sothing felt off.

"But Chairman Kang doesn’t exactly need money, right? If that were the case, wouldn’t he have just asked

to sell the land to him earlier?"

Ah, maybe Subusoo had refused? That could be it. The land around Taesung Construction was so of the most pri real estate in Seoul.

Sunwoo didn’t know much about real estate, but he figured that land of that size would be worth quite a lot. More importantly, a conglorate was established there.

It wouldn’t be easy to shake Subusoo with re money. After all, he didn’t lack wealth.

But Subusoo wasn’t that smart. If he had been, he never would have gone to Kang Jinwook and gotten pregnant or tried to blackmail him.

"Do you think Chairman Kang didn’t think of that? Maybe he couldn’t do it."

"Why...?"

If you had the money, wouldn’t it be possible? No matter how firm Subusoo was, he couldn’t match Kang Jinwook when it ca to manipulating people.

Even if it was difficult, Chairman Kang could have worn Subusoo down with his persuasion. But why would he include such a condition for an engagent with Kang Jinwook?

While Sunwoo was deep in thought, Kang Jinwook looked at him, clenching and unclenching his fist. It was a strange feeling he couldn’t explain, but it was as if his emotions were in turmoil whenever he looked at Sunwoo.

It wasn’t exactly strange, but rather, it felt unusually unsettling.

"I don’t know exactly, but it seems like there was a deal between your grandfather and Chairman Kang. It probably has to do with the rights to that land."

What could it be? If that’s true, then why did Chairman Kang build his company and factories there? Why not just build them on his own land?

This wasn’t sothing they could figure out right now. It seed like Sunwoo would have to et with the representative he had only spoken to over the phone.

Before that...

"So what’s the problem with the contract?"

"Breaching the contract, of course. Not only did you hide the fact that you're an Oga, but you’re carrying soone else’s child."

Kang Jinwook said, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. And his words didn’t stop there.

"So what do you think will happen when Chairman Kang finds out?"

What will happen? Of course, he would take whatever he wanted.
