Chapter 99: Chapter 99 Do I Seem Like Such A Cunning Person?

Chapter 99

The next day, at Affiliated High School, half an hour before the monthly exam began, Chloe Collins arrived in her classroom.

The Literary Committee mber, clutching her Chinese essay material, turned around with a gossipy look, "Hey Chloe, have you heard about the scandal with Raine Nolan?"

Chloe just looked at her blankly.

The Committee mber said excitedly, "You wouldn’t believe it, she may be the Young Lady of the Collinses. Still, she stooped so low as to steal sothing. Most likely, she has had a falling out with Diego Willis and his gang. She’s not lacking anything, so why would she steal from Willis?"

"Oh, you probably didn’t know. Although her last na is Nolan, her mother married into the Collins family. So, she reached her current status from having a mother who married up. Her behavior has certainly brought sha on the Collinses."

"If there wasn’t a monthly exam today, she probably wouldn’t have co to school at all. Everyone is making s about her. It was the first ti she arrived after the school bell rang and she didn’t dare to revise in the classroom, probably scared soone would question her about the theft. But even so, she still has so die-hard fans trying to argue in her favor."

"This scandal has been good for you. Before it ca out, everyone was targeting you about you changing classes. Now, this news has pushed down your posts to the second place online."

As Chloe flicked open a book, she replied, "I’m not interested."

Disappointed, the Committee mber turned to the student next to her, but that student was one of the top in class and too busy revising to entertain her.

In the end, she turned back to Chloe. "You must be quite tense as well to finally start reading a book. Are you worried that if you don’t do well in the exams, the others will ridicule you?"

Just as she finished talking, she saw the book Chloe was holding – it was a detective comic book.

"Oh...never mind."

The afternoon of the next day, after the last exam, all the students left the Examination Centre.

Whilst everyone around them was discussing the difficulty of the test, Chloe was making a phone call.

Heijii told her the birthday gift for the ’Master’ she had ordered was delivered and currently at the Riverside Villa.

"Boss, do you want

to send it to the Fosters?"

"No need, I’m not going ho tonight."

"Oh? You’re going to the Riverside Villa?"

"Yep, just to relax."

"By the way, boss, that client is spitting gold to place an order. She’s even offered the highest price. Why not yield for once? Let Polita go along. Just put up with it."

Chloe paused for a mont, chuckled. "Do I seem like such a cunning person?"

Heijii laughed but didn’t respond.

Chloe continued: "No need to say more. If it involves Layla Lowell, reject it."

Having given the directive, she ended the call.

Just as she put down the phone, she heard Robert Foster’s voice coming from nearby.

He called out her na from afar, causing the people around to look over.

Suddenly, two girls were whispering, "See, I told you they are together."

Hearing the girls’ comnt, Robert stopped abruptly. He turned back and looked at them earnestly. "Little girl, watch your words; don’t push

into the fire pit."

His elder brother... was not far from them.

Having said that, he walked towards Chloe, smiling. "Why are you always walking alone? Next ti, wait for ."

"What’s up?"

"Oh, my brother ca to pick us up. He’s over there. Let’s go."

Chloe turned around and saw a tall figure under a far-off apricot tree.

"I’m not going ho. I’m staying at a friend’s place tonight."

Having said that, she walked away.

"Oh? Are you? Alright then."

Robert didn’t ask any more questions. He turned around and ran back to his elder brother to report.
