Chapter 243: Chapter 243 Little Octopus

Archery.

Alexander Foster murmured these two words as a warm breeze hit his face, and his thoughts seed to co to life.

"Help

over there."

"Young Master, you also want to...?"

Ford looked at him.

Alex didn’t say anything, just put his hand on Ford’s arm.

Ford then led him to Chloe Collins’s side, ignoring the sign that read "No Loitering."

The closer they got, the more Alex could sense the Little Girl’s movents while drawing her bow. Listening to it, her technique wasn’t quite there yet.

"Junior, do you want to play too?"

He heard her ask.

Alex said, "You haven’t won against

in chess yet, and you’re calling

Junior?"

As soon as he finished speaking, the girl chuckled softly, "That’s because I was trapped. If we had another ga, the result would be the sa. You’re good at chess, but not better than . I’ve figured out that you can’t beat ."

He gave a faint, amused laugh, "You’re quite arrogant for your age."

"It’s natural that you don’t want to admit defeat. Give

a chance, and I’ll make sure you do."

Just as she finished speaking, Alex heard the sound of an arrow being shot.

"You’re using a bamboo bow and arrows. Don’t overdo it."

"Oh? How did you know it’s made of bamboo? Can you really not see?"

Alex had a feeling that she must have reached out her hand while saying this.

He raised his hand and instinctively grabbed it.

As expected, he caught a soft, slender wrist that was a bit cold.

That hand carried an indescribable fragrance, like a certain perfu.

She moved, but he didn’t loosen his grip.

In his mind, he subconsciously pictured a little octopus struggling before his eyes.

Quite amusing.

"Let

go, I don’t doubt you anymore," she surrendered.

He waited a few seconds, then suddenly loosened his fingers, and the Little Girl withdrew her hand.

He reached out and asked, "Give

the bow and arrows."

"But you can’t see. How can you use them?"

He moved his fingers, motioning for her to hand over the bow and arrows.

The next second, the rough-feeling bow and arrows were placed in his open hand.

He turned to take position, the arrow on the bowstring ready to be shot.

"Take the bamboo stem as the bullseye," he commanded.

Though his eyes were covered, his hearing had improved considerably.

His skill to discern positions by sound alone was getting stronger.

With his last bit of hesitation gone, he released his grip on the arrow.

The crisp sound of the arrow shooting through the air and Ford’s cheers reached his ears.

"Young Master, the arrow hit the bullseye!"

The Little Girl’s voice ca again, "You’re better at this skill than . Have you trained before?"

Ford helped him answer, "Ah, Miss, you guessed right. Our Young Master has been practicing archery since he was a child. His skill could easily put him on the national team. You, girl, better practice hard."

Just as Ford finished speaking, he saw the Little Girl propping her chin up and looking at Alex with an unknown thought in her mind.

Suddenly, she straightened up, took the window’s security bars off, placed them inside the room, and then climbed out.

Ford was dumbfounded, "Girl, what are you...?"

Chloe Collins smiled at him, "Shh, don’t tell my master, okay?"

Alex was a bit confused and asked Ford, "What happened?"

"Oh, the Little Miss has pried open the window’s security bars. She’s very strong."

"It’s not that I’m strong, it’s just that I had opened them before and left them there for show. I didn’t just pry them open now."

——

(Thirteen-year-old Chloe Collins is still very peculiar and adorable since, at this point, she hasn’t experienced many adversities and still retains so innocence~)
