Chapter 187: Chapter 187: All my efforts have been in vain
Chapter 187
Tristan’s fiery aura suddenly cooled: "Hospital?"
The servant nodded: "Yes, young miss returned half an hour ago, crying heartbrokenly. She was out of control and insisted on committing suicide. She passed out after running into a pillar, and was imdiately sent to the hospital. Madam is already there accompanying her."
"Suicide?"
Tristan let out a cold chuckle, his gaze icy.
At the sa ti, in the hospital.
Raine’s forehead was wrapped in gauze, and a small red dot could be faintly seen underneath it.
Rosalind sat on one side, both heartbroken and angry.
"I raised you for eighteen years, and this is how you repay ?" she said, frustrated.
Raine covered her face with a blanket, sobbing quietly: "There were so many people at the banquet, all of them important figures, especially many fragrance industry masters. Everyone was staring at
like I was a monster; I’ll never have the face to see people again in my life!"
"It’s all Chloe Collins’ fault, it’s her! When I die, it will be her fault too! She makes my life miserable every single day, always opposing !"
Rosalind didn’t know the whole story about the banquet, because as soon as her daughter returned, she cried and scread incoherently, and before she could ask what happened, Raine had already run into the pillar.
She knew her daughter well; the girl was quite timid and usually couldn’t even bear to watch Animal Planet, fearing bloody scenes. But now, she was determined to take her own life, which showed that sothing major must have happened at the banquet.
She cald herself down and asked, "Don’t get too emotional; the sky hasn’t fallen yet, and your mother is still here. Don’t cry, and tell
clearly what happened!"
Raine cried out again, utterly distraught.
Thinking about what she experienced today during the whole day, the sense of injustice was too overwhelming, and it instantly broke through her defenses.
Originally, she had eagerly anticipated the banquet, but now she felt utterly humiliated.
Today should have been her mont to shine, but because of Chloe Collins, she made a fool of herself over and over again!
Thinking about this, her crying beca even more heartbroken, hiding under the covers, not wanting even a sliver of light to touch her.
Rosalind got angry: "If you don’t say anything, I’m leaving! Your brother is still lying in my belly, and he needs ti to rest!"
Her sharp tone slightly poked Raine’s nerves.
She opened the cup and faced Rosalind with a tear-streaked face: "Fine, even you want to give up on
now, I’d be better off dead. No one cares about
anyway! All my efforts have been wasted!"
Rosalind frowned, her heart softening a bit. She grabbed the cup and wiped Raine’s tears with her hand, her voice slightly gentler: "If I really wanted to give up on you, why would I have sent you to the hospital? Mother and daughter have a strong bond; you’re a part of . How could I give up on you? Now hurry up and tell
the whole story."
These words gradually cald Raine’s emotions.
Five minutes later, she recounted the whole story to Rosalind while still sobbing.
When she ntioned the part about framing Chloe Collins, she was hesitant and stamred for a long ti, but still decided to tell everything. After all, since childhood, the person she had relied on the most was Rosalind, and they had almost no secrets from each other.
Rosalind listened carefully and, in the end, caught a few key points.
She focused intently: "You said the booklet was Joy’s draft?"
Raine sniffled and replied: "Yeah, the latter part was just sothing Chloe Collins scribbled at random before. I thought it was weird, and when I ntioned it to you, you said it was Joy’s special touch. I didn’t suspect anything, but who would have thought that in the end, I would make a bottle of poisoned water, and it almost caused a disaster. Edgar Foster must hate
to death!"
