Chapter 186: Chapter 186: I Am Willing

Chapter 186

Furthermore, the interests of each major noble family were intertwined, and no one would be at odds with Tristan Collins over a minor character like Raine Nolan.

Now, Alexander Foster only said one more sentence, but Tristan’s strong response unavoidably displeased the old man.

He said, "Since the incident happened in the Fosters’ house, it’s better to solve it within the Fosters. Our families have been friends for decades, we’re all like family, there’s no need to make such a clear distinction."

Tristan’s expression was subtle, and even though he was displeased, he couldn’t refute the old master’s cordial words.

If he argued further, he would be in the wrong.

At this ti, Alexander Foster spoke up in a tily manner: "Miss Nolan, you still have sothing to say, right?"

This gentle and polite sentence fell into Raine Nolan’s ears like snow in June, eerily cold, piercing through her eardrums, and stabbing her heart!

Even though Alexander Foster had no strong, cold attitude or words, he successfully made her feel an invisible pressure, making it difficult for her to breathe.

That handso face, faintly revealing a gloominess, frightened her!

Raine suddenly recalled not long ago, at the East wing, Alexander Foster leaning lazily against the stair railing, his cold indifference as he glanced at her, looking as if he was watching a tiny ant. The command to "get lost" was spoken casually, yet with an undeniable force.

Shocked by his gaze, Raine shivered and her lips trembled.

"I...I...I do have sothing to say. I apologize to everyone, I’m sorry, Cousin. It was because I was bewitched that I did such a bad thing, and I will never do it again. Please forgive , Cousin. Please forgive ."

As she deeply bowed to Chloe Collins, Raine scurried out of there in embarrassnt.

The words of her apology were quick and rushed, barely sincere, and more like going through the motions.

The old master watched the situation, took a deep breath, said a few words, and tactfully moved on.

The others cooperated, quickly finding other topics to chat about.

Alexander leaned against the chair, his expression solemn, seemingly unsatisfied.

Chloe was drinking water, her eyes slightly downcast, not knowing what to think.

Alexander put so excellent shrimp at into her bowl and whispered softly, "Don’t worry about insignificant people."

This wasn’t loud, and only Chloe could hear it among the elders’ conversation.

Chloe paused for a few seconds before regaining her composure.

"It has nothing to do with her."

She had no reason to be angry over soone as insignificant as Raine Nolan.

Looking at the shrimp at in her bowl, she turned her gaze to Alexander’s gentle and quiet face, and said, "I’m not a child, stop putting food in my bowl."

These words softened the man’s cold face sowhat, his eyes held a faint smile, and he whispered, "As you wish."

Unable to continue the banquet for long after Raine’s incident, the guests dispersed in about forty minutes.

Before leaving the Fosters’ house, the guests did not ntion Raine’s matter, so as not to embarrass Tristan.

Tristan returned to the Collinses’ ho, feeling upset.

As for Raine, he had no intention of letting her off easily.

At first, he had agreed to Rosalind Taylor’s request to have her live with the Collinses due to her clever and sensible nature, as well as her excellent abilities.

Later on, Raine did indeed prove to be quite well-behaved, continuously earning face for Tristan.

But recently, she had beco increasingly unruly, lacking both propriety and common sense.

Thinking about all of this, Tristan’s steps grew heavier, his anger seething beneath the surface.

The house was quiet, and as he entered, only a servant ca forward to help him take off his coat.

His face darkened and serious, he asked, "Where is Miss Nolan?"

The servant’s expression was odd: "Uh, she...she went to the hospital."
