Chapter 266: Costu

“Why do I feel like you’d one day use those sa concepts on ?” Jiang Cheng stared at Fatty.

“That won’t happen, Doctor,” Fatty explained shyly, “We are not the sa kind of people. Without the nightmare, when faced with the sa problem, I’d consider how to save people, and you’d wonder how to take advantage of the victim.”

Jiang Cheng scanned Fatty. “Fatty, I anticipate seeing you being pressed to the ground by the ghost. I wonder if you can still talk to

so calmly then.”

Fatty shrugged, “Doctor, if I were you, I wouldn’t talk to

like that. After all, you’re isolated now. You’re alone, and you still have a tibomb called Xia ng around you. To be honest, I am your only ally now. I suggest,” Fatty said, “You should be nicer to .” He thought about it and realised that was unrealistic, so he corrected himself, “Or at least give

two praises.”

“I’ll do that later,” Jiang Cheng looked up at the sky, “I have so many praises to give you. After I leave this place, I’ll find an auspicious day and burn them for you.”

Fatty realised the Doctor wasn’t joking, and he shivered. Then, he acted like he had just woken up. He looked around worriedly and smiled at Jiang Cheng, “Doctor, I feel like I’ve been possessed. Did I say sothing to make you mad?”

Jiang Cheng gave him a side-eye and left.

Fatty followed after him. They realised they were not the only people not rushing to snatch the costus. There were also Chen Qiang and Qin Jian. They stood on the other side. When they saw the Doctor and Fatty moved, they also moved. Qin Jian was an old player, so it was unsurprising, but Chen Qiang…

He acted so professionally. Even Fatty noticed him. Facing this reticent young man who dressed like a student, Fatty felt like he was eting another version of the Doctor. He was either an experienced player acting like a new player… or he was soone like the Doctor, a newbie who was extrely calm. Regardless, it would not be good for them for the clues to fall into the hands of such a person.

Plus… they still had no clue about Deep Red. Fatty studied everyone silently. In this small room, he could sense the dangerous dark tides. No one woke up Tang Shirou because no one dared to offend the four who hadn’t put on the costus: Jiang Cheng, Fatty, Chen Qiang, and Qin Jian. Four people, four costus.

One was green, one was black, and the other two were white but in different styles.

The middle-aged woman didn’t say anything. She didn’t urge them. The others who had already changed were thinking to themselves. Xia ng’s eyes wandered all over Jiang Cheng.

An Xuan, who was the first to change, frowned. He didn’t care how the others looked at him. He just wanted to survive. Of course, he wouldn’t make enemies for no reason. However, he had a sudden worry. What if all the other costus were traps, and the only save one was the bright red costu? He raised his head and looked at those who hadn’t chosen with suspicion.

Jiang Cheng reached out to grab the black costu. However, before he could touch it, another hand snatched it away from him. Jiang Cheng turned to look. It was Qin Jian’s old but well-preserved face.

“Sir…” Qin Jian looked awkward, but he didn’t let go. Clearly, he was waiting for Jiang Cheng to back off.

“If you like it, you can have it.” Jiang Cheng shrugged and went to grab one of the white costus.

Qin Jian acted like he wanted to give the black costu to Jiang Cheng, but he didn’t know how to say it. Jiang Cheng ignored him. He sighed and put on the white costu. He changed faster than Qin Jian.

Fatty glanced at Chen Qiang. He began, “Brother, you…”

“You can choose first,” Chen Qiang was direct, but it was not hurtful, “I can fit in either, but you can’t.”

Fatty was startled before he realised Chen Qiang was talking about sizes. Of the ten, only You Qi was close in size to him. His costu was several sizes larger than the rest. Of the remaining green and white costus, their sizes were different. The green one was clearly larger.

Fatty looked at Chen Qiang appreciatively. Without the latter’s reminder, he would have chosen wrongly and made things awkward for them. Fatty nodded at Chen Qiang and took the green chosen. Chen Qiang grabbed the last white costu. They both changed.

Qin Jian was the last change. After all, he was slow due to his age. When he was done, he suddenly realised everyone was looking at him. Their eyes contained sothing that caused him to frown. What was going on?

The next second, he realised there was sothing wrong with his costu. He slowly looked down until… he saw paper money sewn into the golden hem around his waist. Then, a chill ran up his spine. His costu was… ant for dead people.

When he looked up again, he t Jiang Cheng’s shiny eyes.

Jiang Cheng tutted and poked Zuo Qing beside him, “See? I told you that they looked like mourning clothes. Elder Qin wanted it so badly, probably because he’s the closest among us to be able to use them. Always be prepared. I’m impressed.”

The mockery lowered Qin Jian down from the pedestal. He almost vomited.

“Since you’ve changed, please go upstairs one by one to examine the young master,” The middle-aged woman’s ghostly voice echoed behind them.
