Ch.41 Automatic Repair

Hearing Luo Nan’s tone was hostile, the tall guard Polat imdiately broke into a cold sweat.

Looking at how Mr. Crow had treated that little girl just now, was he her master?

Had his actions just now amounted to damaging a custor’s property?

But he didn’t know anything about it—so it shouldn’t count as intentional damage to soone else’s belongings, right? Maybe he could get a lighter wage deduction?

“It… it’s like this, Mr. Crow…”

Polat dared not conceal even the slightest detail—he told Luo Nan everything, from beginning to end, about why he had fought with the little wolf-girl Zhixia.

After listening to Polat’s account, Luo Nan lowered his head and thought deeply. “If what he says is true, then Zhixia Cangya never inford the guards that she was already free. Instead, she imdiately drew her weapon and launched an attack.”

‘Although given her personality, such behavior is certainly possible, it still feels overly coincidental—could this be so kind of forced destiny?’

‘If it truly is, then that’s terrifying.’

Luo Nan paused for a mont, then turned again to Zhixia and asked: “Are these things he said true?”

“…”

Zhixia had now regained her composure. She rembered the instructions Luo Nan had given her before they parted ways—he had told her to inform the guards that she was no longer a slave, and to claim entry to the Whisper Market under the na of ‘Mr. Crow’.

But she hadn’t done any of that. The mont she saw that huge man behaving aggressively toward her, she completely forgot everything Luo Nan had told her.

“I seem to have ssed up…”

Thinking of this, the girl instinctively lowered her head, her small hands nervously twisting the empty recovery potion bottle.

“Zhixia Cangya? What are you daydreaming about?”

“No… no, I wasn’t daydreaming…” Seeing Luo Nan’s slightly displeased tone, the girl imdiately lifted her head to make ands.

“He’s… he’s right. It was indeed

who attacked first.”

After saying those words, the little wolf-girl deflated like a punctured balloon and lowered her head once more. Her dusty, grimy wolf tail seed to shrink in sha.

The girl clenched her lips tightly, her pupils fixed on her own toes as she began counting the small pebbles on the ground.

“I knew it…”

Luo Nan sighed helplessly and covered his face with his hand—but then realized he was still wearing his mask, so he instead crossed his arms over his waist.

“In this situation, Guard Polat’s actions were completely justified—he was acting in self-defense, and also out of legitimate duty to protect market assets.”

“Even though the Whisper Market itself is illegal, I’m also breaking the law by being here—I can’t exactly complain loudly without looking hypocritical.”

Beside him, Polat seed to sense Luo Nan’s helplessness. He clearly understood that in this situation, he was in the right. Luo Nan wanted to bla him, but lacked a valid reason—and thus didn’t know how to begin speaking.

After thinking for a mont, Polat rembered the black gold credit card Luo Nan had produced earlier. He took a deep breath and spoke up voluntarily:

“Mr. Crow, I sincerely apologize. It was my oversight—I failed to verify ownership of the property beforehand, and therefore caused so loss to your possession. I will reflect on this!”

With that, the towering Polat bowed deeply toward Luo Nan and continued: “The Whisper Market will compensate you fully for your losses. If you don’t mind, please follow —I will take you to the official loss assessnt office.”

“…”

Luo Nan glanced at the humble posture of the guard. He thought to himself: This guy has decent emotional intelligence—he knows how to lower his stance and give

face.

‘Of course—it’s definitely the power of my black gold credit card.’

‘Sigh… this is the power of a wealthy, spoiled, ruthless young master. Just by showing a little bit of it, people line up to flatter

wherever I go.’

‘Of course, except for the protagonists.’

Thinking of this, Luo Nan reaffird his grand ideal: ‘Solve the collaboration with demon race crisis, stay far away from all female leads, live as a plain nobleman, and enjoy the decadent, corrupt lifestyle of feudal aristocracy.’

“Hmm, I see your attitude. I won’t pursue this matter further.”

You don’t hit soone who shows you respect. Since he had given Luo Nan full face, Luo Nan wasn’t the type to push his luck. “As for the loss assessnt—no need. That amount isn’t worth my attention… Also, I’m not her owner. I bought her simply because I felt a sudden surge of kindness.”

“Moreover, Zhixia Cangya is now a free person—you should never use the word ‘property’ to insult her dignity.”

Luo Nan quickly adopted a stern expression while explaining to Polat the nature of his relationship with the little wolf-girl, afraid that ‘Silver Moon Sky Wolf’ might overhear and harbor resentnt against him.

“Dignity? ?” Hearing Luo Nan’s words, the little wolf-girl suddenly looked up. In her glacial-blue eyes, only the tall, slender silhouette of the golden raven-beak masked figure remained.

The girl had heard this term before—when she first arrived at ‘Snow Wolf Lily’s Cottage’, one of the older trainees had told her.

She rembered that woman had been kind to her at first, treating her almost like a younger sister—but…

As the older girl began officially engaging in work, her attitude toward Zhixia grew colder and colder, until the icy plains and open fields in her eyes transford into chains and money—the very things Zhixia hated most.

The girl could sense it: ever since then, the word ‘dignity’ had vanished forever from that older girl’s soul.

And because of that, Zhixia had once again strengthened her determination to seek freedom.

“Ahh, I see, Mr. Crow.”

Upon being corrected, Polat instantly understood what he must do. He turned to face the petite snow-wolf girl and bowed again. “Miss Cangya, I apologize for my previous disrespect. Please forgive my inappropriate address toward you!”

“Eh? This big guy just apologized to ? What should I do?”

Confused and uncertain, the little wolf-girl didn’t know how to respond. She turned her head toward Luo Nan, seeking his guidance.

“What an idiot—she doesn’t even know whether or not to accept an apology.”

Luo Nan sighed wearily and said: “Zhixia, whether or not to forgive him—choose based on your own heart.”

“I… okay.”

Just as the girl hesitated and prepared to answer, the sa violent consciousness that had previously controlled her behavior surged violently into her mind.

“Ahhhh!!!”

“Give … die!”

The girl let out a piercing scream, extending her right hand, using her nails as blades, ready to stab directly into Polat’s face.

“No… no…”

But this ti, she was not fully dominated by the violent impulse. Zhixia gritted her teeth, gripping her right wrist tightly with her left hand, desperately stopping herself from launching the sudden attack.

Visible on her skin, the wounds that had been healed by the recovery potion now split open again under this internal struggle, bleeding profusely.

Luo Nan noticed—Zhixia’s left eye was streaming blood once more.

Additionally, her ice-blue pupils had turned crimson.

“This is…”

Luo Nan was stunned. He recalled that in ‘The Shining Myriad Trails’, there was absolutely no description of Zhixia Cangya entering such a loss-of-control state.
