Chapter 386: Chapter 385: Deeply Tornted
At that mont, Heather, completely disregarding the Yuanhong Sword piercing her body, asked Ye Fan with a faint, unreadable smile, "Do you want to kill ?"
She spoke very slowly.
"I have no choice," Ye Fan said calmly. "I can’t watch my won be turned into vampires. Forgive ."
Heather’s body trembled. "I trusted you," she said, her voice shaking. "So why did you try to kill ? Did you really think if I wanted to drain their blood, I would have waited until now? I was just giving you a test. I intended to let them go."
Ye Fan was stunned. She’s right. Upon reflection, he realized it was true. Both Luo Yazhi and the Dark Night Demon Queen were unhard. If Heather had truly wanted to drain their blood, she wouldn’t have waited this long. He cursed himself for being so impulsive.
He sheepishly stamred, "I... I didn’t an to... I was just acting on impulse," and moved to the side.
But just then, a powerful killing aura erupted from Heather. The aura instantly filled the vampire maids and the two won with a crushing sense of despair. Ye Fan fared little better. He couldn’t even defeat the Blood Ancestor, so there was no way he could withstand the Vampire Ancestor’s unbridled fury.
Heather pulled the Yuanhong Sword from her body. "You have disappointed
greatly," she said, her voice dripping with ice.
"AHH!"
With a furious roar, all the decorations in the Vampire Clan’s Holy Temple shattered. She then began to advance on Ye Fan, one step at a ti.
Her current emotional state was akin to trusting soone with your back, only for them to stab you without hesitation. It was a betrayal so profound that almost no one could endure it.
She charged at Ye Fan. He tried to dodge, but he was already severely injured. Heather seized him by the collar and flung him through the air. Ye Fan slamd violently against a wall, spitting out a mouthful of fresh blood. Just as he was about to retaliate, Heather was already upon him. She grabbed him by the throat, her grip like iron. Ye Fan struggled, but his resistance was utterly futile.
"Ye Fan!"
"King of Heaven!" the two won cried out in alarm.
However, Heather’s eyes remained locked on Ye Fan, chillingly cold. In that mont, her one and only desire was to see him dead. But then, a mory surfaced: at her most desperate mont, Ye Fan could have abandoned her, but he hadn’t. He had saved her with his own blood. The thought made her pause, and she lowered Ye Fan to the ground.
She turned to two of her maids. "Lock him up."
"Yes."
The two maids stepped forward and dragged Ye Fan away, while two others began to escort the other won.
"Let
go! Ye Fan!" Luo Yazhi shouted.
Heather responded coolly, "Let him go? You are too naive. I’m giving you a chance to leave this place now."
"Why?" the Dark Night Demon Queen asked, perplexed. She couldn’t understand why Heather would release them. They were supposed to be her food.
"Don’t ask so many questions," Heather commanded. "Guards, take them away. If they refuse to leave, kill them."
"Yes."
The maids prepared to remove them, but Luo Yazhi shouted, "If Ye Fan doesn’t leave, we won’t go either!"
The Dark Night Demon Queen shot her a sharp glance, and Luo Yazhi instantly fell silent. With that, the two won were led away.
「In the dungeons of the Vampire Clan」
Ye Fan was bound spread-eagled to a wall. If any outsider were to see the compromising position, they would surely think it was shockingly indecent. He was incredibly weak. He had already been severely wounded, and Heather’s subsequent beating had left him in imnse pain.
Soti later, Heather arrived, clutching the wound in her torso as she looked down at him. "Do you know what I did with them?" she asked.
"I know. As long as they’re safe, that’s all that matters," Ye Fan replied, relieved. He had expected Heather to release them. After all, he was still of use to her.
Heather then asked, "And do you know why I didn’t kill you?"
"Because I’m still useful to you," Ye Fan replied with a bitter smile.
"Is that really what you think?" Heather’s voice was laced with disappointnt.
Ye Fan gave a wry smile. "Isn’t it?"
"You disappoint
more than I can say." She turned away. "Guards! Watch him closely."
With that, she left. Ye Fan couldn’t understand why Heather kept saying he disappointed her. Isn’t it simply because I’m still useful to her? A woman’s heart is hard to fathom, and a queen like Heather’s is even more impossible to read! He felt utterly helpless. Life as a prisoner was proving to be miserable.
UGH.
Alone in the Holy Temple, Heather coughed up a mouthful of blood, her face deathly pale. The wound from Ye Fan’s Yuanhong Sword was severe. A blade straight through the torso was a grievous injury, and even for her, recovery would take a very long ti.
"Ancestor Lord," her maids said, rushing to her side in concern.
"I’m fine," Heather said, waving them away. "Release the blood offerings contributed by the princes. And inform them they are no longer to capture humans from the secular world."
"But Ancestor Lord, you can’t!" one of the maids protested anxiously. "You are reviving! You need a great deal of fresh blood to recover!"
Heather shot her a fierce glare, and the maid imdiately fell silent. "Are you daring to disobey my orders now?"
None of the maids dared to argue further and hurried to carry out her commands. Soon, Heather was left alone in the vast, opulent Holy Temple. For all its splendor, she found that without Ye Fan, it held less joy. She had never felt lonely before, but now, she was consud by an overwhelming solitude. She was only just realizing that this was not the life she wanted.
「anwhile」
Luo Yazhi and the Dark Night Demon Queen found themselves at the edge of a gloomy, dense forest.
"Sister," Luo Yazhi said urgently, "we have to go to the Divine Land, find Ye Fan’s old subordinates, storm the Holy Mountain of the Vampire Clan, and rescue him!"
"Don’t be reckless," the Dark Night Demon Queen warned. "You know how powerful the Vampire Clan is. Even if we gathered all of his forr subordinates, they would be no match for them. Just a few of their princes would be more than we could handle." She had witnessed the might of the Vampire Clan firsthand. It was terrifying. The forces of the underworld stood no chance against them.
"Then what should we do?" Luo Yazhi cried in frustration. "We can’t just stand by and do nothing while Ye Fan suffers in their hands!"
The Dark Night Demon Queen simply glanced at her. "Are you so sure he’s suffering?"
"Sister, how can you joke at a ti like this?" Luo Yazhi was annoyed by the Dark Night Demon Queen’s attitude. Ye Fan might be a philanderer, but he was most certainly suffering right now, not enjoying himself.
The Dark Night Demon Queen said, "Think about it. The Female Ancestor of the Vampire Clan let us go far too easily. Don’t you find that a little strange? For now, I’d say he’s perfectly safe. All we can do is take this one step at a ti."
「An unknown amount of ti passed」
Ye Fan awoke from a groggy haze. He vaguely rembered being dragged out by guards and brought back to the Vampire Clan’s Holy Temple. He felt utterly exhausted.
Heather was looking down at him. "After being locked up for so many days," she said, "your mind should have cleared up a bit."
"Kill
or torture . Do as you please," Ye Fan retorted impatiently.
"You know, you don’t have to endure all this suffering," Heather told him.
"What’s the price?" Ye Fan asked, his voice cold.
Everything had a price. He needed to know what Heather wanted, and what he would have to pay.
