Chapter 250: Chapter 249 Five Poison Ancestor

"Five Poison Ancestor, it’s you!" Yan Ning shouted.

Ye Fan hadn’t expected the Five Poison Ancestor to look so young. According to the Yan Clan Patriarch, he should have been ancient. Moreover, compared to the other disciples of the Five Poison Sect, his clothes were immaculate, a stark contrast to the grimy style associated with their poison arts.

The Five Poison Ancestor cackled. "Yes, it’s , Yan Ning. Where can you run today? This is the day your Yan Clan dies!"

"Is that so? We’ll see if you have the ability to make that happen," Yan Ning retorted. He was a descendant of the Ancient Emperor Yan, and his na, Yan Ning, was a testant to that heritage.

The Five Poison Ancestor sneered, "Your Yan Clan proclaims itself the orthodox power of the Divine Land and looks down upon our Five Poison Clan. Today, I will see you utterly crushed beneath our feet!"

"Hmph! Poison arts have always brought chaos to the world. The deeds of your Five Poison Clan—using living people to refine your poisons—are vile and heretical, a practice condemned by both heaven and man! If you continue down this path, you are dood to annihilation!" Yan Ning roared.

"Is that so? My Five Poison Clan’s history is no shorter than your Yan Clan’s; in fact, it is even longer. Yet, my clan grows ever more prosperous while yours continues to weaken. It’s obvious who will be destroyed first, isn’t it?" the Five Poison Ancestor said, his voice laced with excitent. "Moreover, I will use your corpse to refine the ultimate poison art and break through to the Supre Level!"

They had been stalled at the Emperor Level for many years, and reaching the Supre Level was a dream they desperately pursued. Unfortunately, they had remained stuck, unable to achieve a breakthrough.

"You won’t get the chance. Today, you will surely die!" Yan Ning bellowed, charging at the Five Poison Ancestor. The two of them instantly beca locked in a fierce battle.

At the sa ti, the Great Elder of the Yan Clan and Ye Fan sprang into action, targeting the two elders of the Five Poison Clan.

"You’re courting death, boy!" the Five Poison Clan elder facing Ye Fan taunted.

Ye Fan didn’t waste words. He circulated his True Qi and slashed down with the Yuanhong Sword. Gleaming with a sharp edge, the blade t the elder’s weapon in a blinding clash. Although Ye Fan didn’t possess the advantage in cultivation realm, he held a clear advantage in weaponry; the Yuanhong Sword was no ordinary blade, having once sliced through a Starry Sky Iron Stone Sword of the Yan Clan in a single strike.

The weapon wielded by this Five Poison Clan elder was a scepter, and it shattered into pieces the instant it made contact with the Yuanhong Sword. A cloud of poisonous mist erupted from the broken scepter. Ye Fan swiftly dodged, knowing all too well how terrifying that poison was.

The Five Poison Clan elder was stunned. While his scepter wasn’t a top-tier weapon, it was far from an ordinary item. He couldn’t believe it had been destroyed by Ye Fan in the blink of an eye. He struck swiftly, intending to subdue Ye Fan with his poison arts. His blackened fingers were horrifying to behold, especially his impossibly sharp fingernails.

Ye Fan instinctively dodged his grasp, but the elder’s fingers found another target—a nearby Yan Clan Martial Artist. That Martial Artist instantly dissolved into a puddle of black blood.

A chill ran down Ye Fan’s spine. This old man’s raw power might be slightly less than his, but his vicious thods were utterly terrifying. As they darted through the woods, Ye Fan searched for an opportunity to land a killing blow.

Looking across the battlefield, it was clear no one on the Yan Clan’s side had it easy. Yan Ning and the Five Poison Ancestor were locked in a stalemate. At their level, a victor wouldn’t be decided for at least several hundred, if not a thousand, exchanges. The Great Elder of the Yan Clan, on the other hand, was entangled with two Great Elders from the Five Poison Clan. He struggled just to defend himself, let alone help others. It was a grim battle.

In the forest, Ye Fan walked slowly, his senses on high alert. The Five Poison Sect elder had vanished, and Ye Fan suspected he was lying in ambush.

Suddenly, a figure dropped from above, lunging for his head. Ye Fan whipped the Yuanhong Sword upwards to et the attack. With a flash of light, the Five Poison Clan elder disappeared again without a trace. However, Ye Fan spotted three severed black fingers on the ground. His opponent was injured.

He began following the trail of black blood. By the ti he reached the foot of the mountain, though, the trail vanished, the clue abruptly ending. Ye Fan grew frustrated.

This old fellow’s concealnt technique is too profound. He’s probably hiding in a tree sowhere.

He carefully scanned his surroundings. There were no large trees within a ten-ter radius. Beyond that, his opponent wouldn’t be so foolish as to launch an attack; it wasn’t an ideal position for an ambush.

Suddenly, Ye Fan plunged the Yuanhong Sword into the ground.

Instantly, a spray of black blood erupted from the earth. Sothing writhed violently beneath the soil. Ye Fan quickly yanked the Yuanhong Sword free and saw that it had pierced through the Five Poison Clan elder’s kneecap. The elder was trying to scramble away, but Ye Fan gave him no such chance. With a flick of his wrist, the Yuanhong Sword flashed, and the elder’s right leg was instantly pulverized.

What a close call! I was almost ambushed. If I hadn’t noticed the loose soil under my feet in those last few seconds, I never would have detected his presence. Ye Fan thought, his heart still pounding.

The Five Poison Clan elder glared at Ye Fan with pure fury, his lips moving as if chanting so incantation that Ye Fan couldn’t comprehend. But Ye Fan didn’t give him the opportunity to finish. Bathed in the moonlight, the Yuanhong Sword cast a flickering blade shadow. When the shadow passed, the elder’s head tumbled to the ground.

He had been killed by Ye Fan, but his death was rather pathetic. If he had fought Ye Fan head-on from the start, relying on his formidable strength and potent poison arts, it would not have been so easy to kill him, even with the Yuanhong Sword. Instead, he tried to win with a stealth attack, relying on the close-quarters combat he was not skilled in. Thus, Ye Fan seized the opportunity and finished him.

After killing the Five Poison Sect elder, Ye Fan raced back toward the main battle. The situation for the Yan Clan War Group was dire. They had exhausted too much of their strength, and if he didn’t intervene, their defeat was certain. The Five Poison Ancestor must have accurately calculated the strength the Yan Clan could muster before launching his assault, as the forces he brought were overwhelming the Yan Clan Martial Artists. After all, he had mobilized the entire Five Poison Clan—a truly formidable lineup.

By the ti Ye Fan arrived, he found only two people left in the Yan Clan War Group: Yan Ning, who was still locked in a desperate struggle with the Five Poison Ancestor, and the Great Elder.

Yan Ning’s face was ashen, his injuries worsening. It was clear he had been struck by the Five Poison Ancestor’s poison. The Great Elder’s condition was also dire. Though not poisoned, he was on his last legs, as being besieged by two masters of the sa level had taken its toll.

"I’m here to help you!" Ye Fan roared, rushing toward the Great Elder of the Yan Clan. He repelled one of the Five Poison Sect’s Great Elders, saving the Great Elder from a fatal blow.

Yan Ning staggered over to join them, and the three were imdiately surrounded. They ford a defensive triangle, warily watching the horde of enemies.

With his back to Yan Ning, Ye Fan said, "Your condition looks terrible!"

"The Five Poison Ancestor’s poison has injured my very core. I can’t fight for a while," Yan Ning said through clenched teeth, his voice thick with anger. "I never expected him to be so vicious! I was so careful, but he still got !"

It should be known that while Yan Ning’s power was on par with the Five Poison Ancestor’s, his stamina was far superior. But the Five Poison Ancestor wielded poison arts that rivaled even the Gu Technique of the Miao Border. For him, those poisons were enough to defeat any master below the Supre Level.
