Chapter 172: Chapter 171: The Unbeaten Territory

At that mont, Mo Jue could only say awkwardly, "It turns out this fellow was cheating. Big Brother, I am truly sorry."

"n, throw him into the river to feed the fish!" Mo Jue commanded.

"Yes, sir!"

The man, known as Smiley Tiger, desperately begged for rcy. "My lord, have rcy! I only did what you ordered

to do!"

"Hmph! Am I that kind of person?" Mo Jue said shalessly.

After Smiley Tiger was dragged away, Mo Jue imdiately laughed. "So it was him cheating! I knew it. Since you’re the Gambling King, Big Brother, how could you possibly lose so easily? I guarantee an ’accident’ like that will not happen again."

"Hmph! And how will you guarantee that?" Mo Chou shot back.

Mo Jue then said, "I’ll play against you myself. My gambling skills aren’t great, but I own thirty percent of this casino’s shares! I’ll stake that thirty percent against you. Big Brother, is that a big enough wager for you?"

Mo Chou finally understood Mo Jue’s objective. He was making a move on Mo Chou’s influence in the mundane world, forcing him into a wager he couldn’t refuse.

Therefore, he said, "If I were to gamble with you, it would be like bullying you. Let’s have my apprentice, Ye Fan, play against you instead. He’s only been learning from

for an hour! I think a match between him and you would be perfectly fair. As for the stakes, I’ll wager my seventy percent of the shares!"

The room erupted in an uproar. The two were truly betting big; to call this a high-stakes ga would be an insult to its sheer magnitude. Everyone present leaned forward in anticipation.

Ye Fan, however, felt incredibly awkward. You’re the apprentice! Your whole family are apprentices! I don’t know the first thing about this, damn it!

Mo Jue didn’t hesitate for a second. "Thank you for the concession, Big Brother. I’m grateful. In that case, I will play against your apprentice!"

The card dealer began to deal. Ye Fan sat directly opposite Mo Jue, and the entire crowd watched them with bated breath, even though neither was a famous gambler. Their wager alone was enough to thrill everyone. Regardless of who lost, the outco would be a landmark event for this casino.

The crowd was puzzled. With such high stakes, why wouldn’t the Gambling King play himself? Why pit a complete novice against his opponent instead? Was he afraid of losing and disgracing himself? No, that couldn’t be it. Face was a minor issue at this point; he should be giving it his all. Could it be that his arrogance had reached a point where he disdained to even participate? But no one felt at ease entrusting such a massive wager to a novice. Everyone present was an expert, and from the way Ye Fan held his cards, it was obvious he was an absolute beginner—as green as they co. It had to be said, this matchup was truly an eye-opener.

Although Ye Fan wasn’t a master gambler, he knew the rules of the ga. Mo Jue, however, was far more arrogant. He was absolutely certain he would win, even if Mo Chou himself were playing. Such was his confidence.

Ye Fan stood up and faced Mo Jue. As both a Martial Artist and an Inner Strength Master, Mo Jue radiated a powerful aura that intimidated the surrounding crowd. However, another, even more powerful aura suddenly erged—one that was in no way inferior to his. It was terrifying. As this new aura swelled, even Mo Jue grew afraid.

He had never expected a re youth to possess such a powerful aura. And that wasn’t all. When Ye Fan focused his aura entirely on him, Mo Jue felt as if he were suffocating. He had known Ye Fan was no simple man, but he had still underestimated him. He cursed Mo Chou inwardly for being an old fox; Mo Chou must have known all along that he was no match for this opponent and had sent him over on purpose. Still, Mo Jue had co prepared.

"Let’s begin," Ye Fan said calmly.

No one noticed that Mo Jue’s legs were already trembling. He was struggling to remain standing, completely unable to muster the will to resist Ye Fan’s crushing aura. He shook his head to stay clear-minded. As the cards were dealt, he began to cheat, attempting to use his Inner Strength to manipulate their distribution. Ye Fan, not to be outdone, fought back with his own power. To the onlookers, it was a simple ga of cards, but only Mo Jue knew he was enduring imnse tornt. Ye Fan’s Inner Strength was so powerful it terrified him. He had gravely underestimated its true extent.

After one round, Ye Fan remained perfectly composed. Now, with only the final card left to be drawn, he watched Mo Jue grow flustered. Seeing this, no one was happier than Mo Chou. As expected, he had made the right bet. It didn’t matter what tricks Mo Jue pulled; he had Ye Fan. As long as Ye Fan was present, he could not lose. He had secured an unbeatable position. From the looks of it, even though Ye Fan had supposedly just learned to play, his technique had already far surpassed Mo Chou’s own. This made Mo Chou see Ye Fan in a completely new light.

In reality, if Ye Fan were ranked second in the world of gambling, no one would dare claim to be first. In his early years, he had been the one true Gambling King of the underground world, a scene rife with trickery and cheats. His claim to that title was far more legitimate than Mo Chou’s; he simply disliked gambling.

Mo Jue could feel his very joints trembling. When the final card was revealed, Ye Fan’s hand was one point higher. The room erupted in cheers. They were in awe of the Gambling King’s ability to find such a worthy successor in just one hour. Even though Mo Jue wasn’t the Gambling King, his gambling skills were known to be extraordinary. The fact that even he had lost could only an one thing: the Gambling King’s throne was truly unshakeable.

Although Mo Jue had lost, he breathed a sigh of relief. The pressure he had been under was the greatest tornt imaginable. If the ga had gone on for even two more cards, he felt certain that Ye Fan’s aura would have crushed him to death.

Wiping the sweat from his brow, he turned to Mo Chou and said, "Big Brother, your title as the Gambling King is truly unparalleled. Even a newly-taught apprentice of yours possesses such formidable skill! I am deeply impressed. I believe that entrusting my thirty percent of the shares to your managent, Big Brother, will allow the casino to reach even greater heights!"

Such empty pleasantries were inevitable, as he was an expert at masking his true feelings, just as he was doing now.

Mo Chou desperately wanted to kill him, but unfortunately, this was not the ti.

"You’re too kind! And thank you for your thirty percent share!" Mo Chou said with a triumphant grin.

With that additional thirty percent, the casino was now completely under his control. This was absolutely wonderful news for him. With full ownership of the casino, his power in the mundane world had officially surpassed Mo Jue’s. Now, he was only a step behind in the underworld.

Mo Jue was furious. "Fine," he said through gritted teeth. "The gas for today end here." With that, he turned and left with his n.

The mont he was outside the casino, Mo Jue violently coughed up a mouthful of blood. The strain from Ye Fan’s aura, combined with his own seething rage, had beco too much to bear. Today, his plan had ended in total failure.
