The energy gel tasted like a mango gummy, but it dissolved more easily.

With a single bite of the gel, Fang Zhen felt his body and Spiritual Power rapidly recovering. A faint warmth spread through him as his strength was continuously replenished.

To be safe, he took advantage of the lull to pull so Magic Grease from his waist pouch, ready to apply it to his longspear at a mont's notice.

The Forbidden Realm Gatekeeper was wreathed in what looked like a shield from the Netherworld. After steadying itself, it violently plunged the strange weapon in its hand—a cross between a shovel and a pickaxe—into the ground and began to chant.

Fang Zhen could vaguely make out the Gatekeeper chanting sothing like, "Spirits of the Netherworld, hear my command." It was similar to the incantations and Imperial Decrees used in many Daoist School rituals; though he could make out the words, their specific aning was hard to grasp.

As the Forbidden Realm Gatekeeper chanted, a gray orb of light five to six ters in diater materialized behind it, resembling the halo behind a Buddha. Countless spirits imdiately erged from within, flying out to circle in the air. They quickly locked onto Fang Zhen, preparing to fly toward him to disorient and cause harm.

In just a few seconds, over a hundred spirits had flown out, swarming densely in the air. It looked as though even more were on their way.

Fang Zhen's eyebrow twitched as he watched.

'He had guessed the Gatekeeper might have the ability to summon spirits and the undead, but he hadn't expected so many at once. There are already over a hundred, and their numbers are still growing.'

The Forbidden Realm Gatekeeper only finished casting the skill after it had summoned over one hundred and fifty spirits.

The Gatekeeper, wreathed in its nether shield, charged toward Fang Zhen along with the one hundred and fifty-odd spirits.

Fang Zhen frowned.

'He wasn't afraid of the Gatekeeper or the spirits, but both of them together would be tricky to handle. Especially the spirits. A few of them on their own weren't a threat; a bit of Magic Fla would be enough to burn them away. But now, there are just too many of them!'

Dozens upon dozens of spirits gathered into a Soul Cloud and lunged forward. The re sight of it would make a timid person's legs give out on the spot, and their shrieking alone could shatter one's will to fight.

Only Fang Zhen, with his will of steel, remained unaffected.

He looped his left hand around the longspear, giving it a sharp tug to swiftly wipe the Magic Grease onto the shaft.

'He had prepared this in advance; there wouldn't have been enough ti to apply it now.'

The pressure from the charging Gatekeeper was imnse.

Worse, Soul Clouds ford from dozens of spirits were approaching from several directions, blocking his view. It felt as if the sky itself was blotted out, with enemies on all sides.

Yet, this only served to ignite Fang Zhen's fighting spirit.

With a flick of his longspear, he channeled his Spiritual Power to ignite the Magic Grease. Flas once again erupted along the weapon.

Suddenly, from behind the Gatekeeper ca the deep, hoarse, and echoing caw of a crow.

The Crystal Bone Crow flew in, smashing violently into the Gatekeeper's side.

The Crystal Bone Crow's secret technique—one Fang Zhen had witnessed before—activated once more. A section of the area was plunged into the Night Domain, becoming a pitch-black void dotted with points of starlight. It was a scene of mysterious and serene beauty.

A sharp glint flashed in Fang Zhen's eyes.

'Avera has good timing. At least she's not dragging

down. Realistically, she wouldn't dare hold back. If I die here, she won't last long either.'

The Night Domain seed to have a disorienting effect. Even though the domain only covered a small area, the Gatekeeper was trapped inside, completely unable to escape.

The spirits, however, were unaffected. Over a hundred of them ford several Soul Clouds and lunged forward, shrieking and roaring.

With his fighting spirit surging, Fang Zhen waved his hand. The Magic Fla on his longspear erupted, forming a fiery dragon three to four ters long.

He brandished the longspear, and the fire dragon sprang to life. It coiled into a massive ring of fire, which spun into the air and engulfed the approaching Soul Clouds.

Magic Fla was the bane of spirits, able to directly harm their soul-bodies.

The spirits caught in the inferno shrieked in agony, rapidly becoming fuel as the Magic Fla incinerated them.

The continuous eruption of flas created a stunning visual. It looked like a fiery dragon from the Xia Country, coiling and dancing as it purged the world of all demons.

This ignition of the Magic Grease cost Fang Zhen a great deal of Spiritual Power; roughly a third of his reserves were depleted in that single instant.

Normally, the Magic Grease would burn for thirty minutes. But supercharged by his Spiritual Power, it had burned through fifteen minutes' worth of grease in just six or seven seconds.

The effect, however, was utterly stunning.

In just six or seven seconds of burning, at least a hundred of the one hundred and fifty-odd spirits—perhaps even more—were incinerated.

'It was like I just used an ultimate ability. The cost was imnse, but the power was incredible. Is this the power of an Extraordinary Item from the Naless World? This Magic Grease is incredible. Among the wondrous items of the Naless World, this has to be T0-tier, right?'

He quickly reined in his thoughts and refocused.

The remaining thirty or forty spirits regrouped into another Soul Cloud and lunged at Fang Zhen.

'If those spirits pass through my body, I'll suffer physical damage, paralysis, confusion, and other debuffs at the very least.'

This ti, however, Fang Zhen didn't activate the Magic Fla again. Instead, he ford a sword sign with two fingers of his left hand and pointed sharply at the Soul Cloud.

"Kun Sha!"

Fang Zhen unleashed a Kun Sha Seal.

The Kun Sha Seal actually had a very large effective range and was a type of area-of-effect attack; it was just invisible.

As he unleashed the Kun Sha Seal with a point of his fingers, the Soul Cloud before him began to dissolve like lting ice. The spirits shrieked as they rapidly dissipated, utterly destroyed in both form and spirit!
