Chapter 46: When I Really Do It, You Get Upset

SNIP SNIP SNIP...

The lush foliage was undergoing a trial of faith. Wherever the sharp scissors passed, not a blade of grass survived. From the front, only the tips of the scissors could be seen bobbing up and down within the tall hedge.

But from behind, the owner of those scissors was working very hard—standing on a stool, rising onto her toes, her green twin-tails swaying along with her movents.

After cutting away the last uneven patch, Ella let out a long breath and raised a hand to wipe the sweat from her forehead, just about to steady herself—

Then she stepped into empty air.

“Eh?!”

In the instant she slipped, her body tilted, and the scissors flew from her hand and stabbed into the hedge.

She instinctively thought she was about to fall, yet instead she stopped midair, her heels dangling and swaying.

“Eh? I didn’t fall?”

“You should at least check who’s helping you.”

A languid voice ca from behind her. Ella turned her head blankly and t a pair of blood-red eyes hidden beneath the shadow of a parasol. Standing there was Eve, who had just returned and happened to pass by.

One of Eve’s hands firmly held the back collar of Ella’s clothes, while the other, which supported the parasol, also carried a yellow paper bag.

“It’s the big-chested monster!” Ella hugged her shoulders and grinned playfully, seemingly unaware of her current predicant.

“I have a na.” Eve half-lowered her eyelids lazily as she spoke and set her down steadily.

“It’s fine,” Ella said after landing, one hand on her waist as she waved the other. “Big-chested monster isn’t wrong anyway. In short, thanks~”

“......”

“Oh? That expression on the big-chested monster’s face… not satisfied with Lady Ella’s gratitude? Hehe, do you want more?” As she spoke, she deliberately pinched her skirt and lifted it slightly.

Eve lowered her gaze in silence, staring at the green-haired brat. She looked calm, yet the hand holding the paper bag tightened a little.

Tch… she wanted to pick her up—no, she wanted to lift her and punch her hard in the stomach. That infuriating face crumpling up… if the little brat cried, it would probably look quite nice…

Seeing no reaction for a long ti, the sly smile on Ella’s face grew stronger. She thought the other had surely been overwheld by her majesty—how pitiful.

Then she turned her head aside, covered her mouth while laughing, and deliberately lifted her skirt a couple more tis. Sunlight fell upon her white-stockinged legs, pure as a snowy scene.

But the person certainly was not.

“Sigh~ Since I’m soft-hearted, if the big-chested monster really wants it, it’s not like I can’t—”

“I want it.”

“You can’t see—eh? What did you say?”

“I want it,” Eve repeated calmly. She stepped forward and reached out her free hand.

“Wait wait wait! You’re actually doing it?!”

Ella’s eyes widened as she instinctively retreated.

But Eve did not intend to let her go. She pressed forward relentlessly—each step she advanced forced Ella one step back. After several rounds, Ella was blocked against the hedge.

Feeling the prickling branches behind her and having nowhere left to retreat, the little girl looked around in panic before fixing her gaze on the tall maid.

“I was joking! Don’t reach over here!”

“I do not think so.”

“C-can we reconcile?”

“At this mont, you must be joking.” Eve declared rcilessly, and as her words fell, her hand reached toward the skirt.

“Eek—! Perverted big-chested monster!”

Ella imdiately activated an ergency escape.

With her petite fra, she twisted free with ease and slipped under Eve’s arm in a flash, disappearing instantly.

Only a few leaves she knocked loose remained drifting slowly in the air.

Eve’s outstretched hand still hung in midair. She looked toward the direction where the green twin-tails vanished, her expression unchanged.

“Heh.”

So that was all it took? The brat was nothing more than that—bold with words but faster than anyone when it ca to running. If there were a chance, she would really like to catch her and give her a proper lesson.

This strike that pierces the stars—was delivered on behalf of the Head Maid! ()

...

Let us turn the clock back two minutes. While Eve cornered the green-haired little girl, the scene shifts to the open carved window of the study on the second floor of the main residence.

Vivian closed the book in her hands. Her small fingers tightened, and the cover creaked in painful protest.

Originally, she had only wanted to rest her eyes after reading for so long—perhaps gaze into the distance or admire the greenery and flowers.

Instead, she saw the commotion in the garden below.

And of all people, it was that person.

Fine. Very fine. She disappeared all morning, and now that she was back, her first thought was not to co see her, but to play around with other servants?!

“Outrageous…”

She abruptly turned around, threw the book aside, and strode forward—only to accidentally kick a chair.

“Hiss! That hurts, hurts, hurts…”

The chair leg scraped against the wooden floor with a harsh sound. The sharp pain in her toes forced her to bend over, but she could not care about that now.

Vivian staggered to steady herself, then stord out of the study.

BANG—the double doors wailed thunderously, startling a maid passing by with a mop into standing at attention.

“Good day, Young Miss!”

But Vivian did not notice the bowing servant. Her mind was filled only with capturing Eve. At this point, you could tell

she was going to catch soone cheating and I would believe it.

She hurried down to the first floor, passed through the corridor into the back garden—then suddenly slamd to a halt.

Wait. Soone was there.

It was not Eve she t head-on, but two maids blocking the path ahead. Given Vivian’s temperant, she certainly would not greet them kindly.

...

“Hey, isn’t that the new one who arrived recently? I heard she even pushed Sister Ellie out,” one maid whispered, full of gossip.

The other imdiately vented her dissatisfaction.

The maid Xiao Fei agreed, “Exactly. I don’t know what the Young Miss was thinking—replacing Sister Ellie with a newcor.”

“Look at that face, always so cold. I’ve disliked her for ages. Tch… who knows if she did that kind of work before coming to the manor.”

Xiao Fei even wore an expression of knowing everything, utterly convinced by her own words. “Hey, do you think the Young Miss is too lonely, so she—”

“Shh… stop talking!” the other maid suddenly warned, and then fell silent.

“Huh? Why? We can’t even say it?” Xiao Fei kept muttering in confusion.

Then she noticed the person beside her lowering her head and bowing respectfully—because the subject of their gossip had already appeared behind them.

Vivian stood with arms folded, and coldness seeped from her eyes, making them afraid to look directly at her.

Although a faint smile hung on her face, to everyone present that harmless smile was the on of disaster.

The Young Miss was angry!
