Chapter 1105: Entering the City
TL: GoldenLung
As he spoke, Huang Yuanlang shot Lan Xuanyu a aningful look. The glance made Lan Xuanyu’s scalp prickle with discomfort.
Once the Flying Dragon Chariot landed, a massive dragon carriage imdiately drove over to receive them. One had to understand that the Flying Dragon Chariot represented the City Lord himself. No matter how far the Huang Family had declined, they were still a clan backed by Ink Dragon Knights. mbers of the Huang Family were genuine Higher Dragons, their status naturally exalted.
The three disembarked from the palanquin and boarded the dragon carriage, whose interior was extravagantly luxurious. The carriage carried them toward their residence in Rising Dragon City.
The Huang Family owned a private estate within Rising Dragon City. The city was simply too vast—here, land was the least valuable commodity. The size of the royal estate was in no way inferior to Bai Xiuxiu’s residence. Servants had long since been waiting inside to receive them.
Registration for the Rising Dragon Competition was scheduled for the next day. After arranging Lan Xuanyu and Bai Xiuxiu’s accommodations, Huang Yuanlang explained that he had matters to attend to and hurriedly departed.
It was Lan Xuanyu and Bai Xiuxiu’s first ti in this city, though Liang Pu had previously purchased comrcial property here. They had not co before because two Dragon Knights were stationed in Rising Dragon City. The strength of Dragon Knights was unknown, but undoubtedly terrifying. Lan Xuanyu had no intention of courting trouble in such a place.
This ti, both Rising Dragon Platform and Rising Dragon Plaza left a profound impression on them. Without resting much, Lan Xuanyu and Bai Xiuxiu inford the servants that they were going out for a walk, then left the residence.
Rising Dragon City was incomparably prosperous. Its population far exceeded that of Fenglong City. The streets were packed shoulder to shoulder—aside from Dragon Clan Avenue, nearly every road could be described as a sea of people.
Rather than walking along Dragon Clan Avenue, Lan Xuanyu and Bai Xiuxiu transford themselves into the appearance of Blue Sea Clan mbers and blended into the crowd.
The city’s bustling atmosphere was easy to understand. With the Rising Dragon Competition about to begin, a massive number of dragon-type beings had gathered here.
As they walked the streets, they noticed an abundance of shops selling weapons and equipnt. Most of these items looked extrely ancient—things like Divine Dragon Armor and Dragon Lances. There were even specialty stores offering custom-made Divine Dragon Armor and Dragon Lances.
After taking a closer look, they found that the quality of these items was utterly incomparable to what they had obtained from Huang Daoqi. The difference was worlds apart. Still, these armors and weapons did contain traces of Dragon Force. However, they were clearly not forged from dragon bones; the materials were more like tals that had rely been infused with dragon energy.
On Dragon Clan Avenue, Interdiate and Lower Dragons could occasionally be seen landing and striding arrogantly forward. Higher Dragons, however, were nowhere to be seen. Whenever other races encountered dragons, they would instinctively keep their distance.
During the Rising Dragon Competition, nearly every participating dragon was in peak bloodline condition. One could easily imagine how volatile their tempers were in such a state. Moreover, if dragons hard mbers of other races, they were almost never punished.
This was a privilege.
Lan Xuanyu and Bai Xiuxiu personally witnessed a Lower Dragon smash into two tentacled creatures while entering a shop. The two beings were badly injured, yet they fled at once, not daring to voice even the slightest complaint.
“This kind of class hierarchy… it’s amazing they can tolerate it,” Bai Xiuxiu muttered.
“This is the reality here,” Lan Xuanyu replied calmly. “They might be furious inside, but they don’t dare speak up.”
Bai Xiuxiu said, “The Federation is still better. No matter how powerful a Soul Master is, they can’t just hurt ordinary people. The greater the power, the greater the responsibility.”
Lan Xuanyu smiled faintly. “That’s why, on an intellectual level, I’ve always believed that most races in the Dragon Horse galaxy lag far behind. If dragons weren’t so slow to reproduce and so few in number, there probably wouldn’t be room for other races to survive at all. Many would have already beco slaves.”
“This Rising Dragon Competition,” Bai Xiuxiu said softly, “we should give them a lesson they won’t forget—”
“Let’s take care of our real business first,” Lan Xuanyu interrupted. After several transformations, their appearances were completely different from before. There was no risk of being recognized.
The two found the residence they had prepared in advance and slipped inside unnoticed. Lan Xuanyu imdiately began setting up a spatial teleportation array.
Because the Rising Dragon Platform was far from Fenglong City, the array here had not been completed earlier. Moreover, setting up an array in this city required far greater caution. Additional concealnt asures were necessary—otherwise, the spatial fluctuations during construction could easily attract unwanted attention.
That was why the choice of location mattered so much. This area was inhabited by mbers of the Spaceborne Clan, a race highly proficient in spatial abilities. Minor spatial disturbances here were perfectly normal. Even the Spaceborne Clan themselves wouldn’t suspect anything.
Additionally, the Spaceborne Clan and the Celestial Dragon Clan had once been on tense terms. Though it was unclear how the conflict had been resolved, recent observation showed that the Spaceborne Clan population on Celestial Celestial Dragon Planet had decreased and grown noticeably more low-profile. Under such circumstances, they were unlikely to stir up trouble or investigate nearby anomalies.
Lan Xuanyu was already extrely experienced in setting up teleportation arrays. In less than an hour, the array was complete. A quick test confird that everything worked flawlessly.
Once their task was finished, the two closed the door and quietly left. As the saying goes, a cunning rabbit has three burrows—and the spatial teleportation arrays Lan Xuanyu arranged were far more than just three. By leaping between different arrays, especially when it was only him and Bai Xiuxiu, they could teleport between most cities on Celestial Celestial Dragon Planet. Still, completely erasing all traces was nearly impossible.
After the Rising Dragon Competition, Lan Xuanyu planned to return to Shrek City. His main goal was to visit the Tang Sect again, to acquire more of their high-tech equipnt and forbidden weapons. His current strength was still far from sufficient to contend with the top-tier experts of Celestial Dragon Planet. Forbidden weapons were his best ans of resistance—and escape.
He had made thorough preparations for this tournant. Even if his and Bai Xiuxiu’s identities were exposed, they would still have a way out.
Over the past few months, aside from cultivating, he had been constantly making arrangents to prepare for every possible contingency. Celestial Dragon Planet offered far too many benefits. Whether for his own cultivation or for the Federation, the Academy, and the Tang Sect, he had to establish a foothold here. Even if his identity was revealed, he needed a way to remain rooted.
As the two wove through the crowd, the sky suddenly darkened. A massive shadow descended from above.
The thunderous beat of enormous wings sent gusts of wind sweeping through the streets, prompting shocked cries from the surrounding races as they hurriedly moved away.
It was a colossal dragon covered in dark green scales, at least thirty ters long. It made no effort to conceal its overwhelming aura. In its enormous draconic eyes, savage light glead.
Without question, this was at least an Interdiate Dragon—and an elite one at that. The aura it radiated surpassed even that of the fire dragon Lan Xuanyu and the others had faced before.
The dragon folded its wings, raised its head, and strode toward the street. Its direction of approach was straight toward Lan Xuanyu and Bai Xiuxiu.
Bai Xiuxiu’s eyes flickered, her hands unconsciously clenching into fists. Lan Xuanyu imdiately grabbed her hand and quickened his pace.
He could sense that the dark green dragon’s target was not them, but rather a shop they had just passed.
It was a food shop.
