Chapter 1104: Rising Dragon City
TL: GoldenLung
After what happened last ti, Lan Xuanyu reflected deeply on the incident. After discussing it with his companions and Elder Shu, he ca up with a solution.
The most powerful ability of the Ring of Fate was its capacity to store living beings. It was like an independently existing miniature plane—one that could sustain life and yet be carried around.
During their previous attempts at absorbing Dragon Force for tempering their bodies, they had acted on impulse, grabbing whatever they could and proceeding imdiately. That was precisely why an uncontrollable situation like the previous one had occurred.
If they wanted to absorb Dragon Force more safely and carry out Dragon Force body tempering, then their approach had to change. After so deliberation, they decided on a new plan: capture dragon-type creatures, severely injure them, and then transport them to a safe location for tempering.
In the end, they decided to excavate an underground cavern within the prival forest. On the surface, Elder Shu would transform into a giant tree to conceal the area as much as possible and suppress any leakage of aura. Within a radius of dozens of kiloters, more than ten top-tier plant-type experts would be stationed to guard the surroundings and monitor the situation to prevent any unexpected incidents.
With this arrangent, using the Ring of Fate to transport captured dragon creatures into the underground cavern would be far safer. Of course, the prerequisite was that the dragons could be restrained. Severely injuring them first and then sealing them should not be particularly difficult.
They had refrained from taking action during this period precisely to perfect this plan. Lan Xuanyu’s goal was not rely to allow the seven of them to advance through Dragon Force tempering, but to let the other mbers of the Thirty-Three Sky Wings benefit as well. The advantages of Dragon Force tempering were simply too significant. The weaker one was by nature, and the poorer one’s physique, the greater the improvent. With enhanced physical strength, coupled with the abundant life energy here and the assistance of powerful plant-type beings, everyone’s cultivation speed would be astonishing—certainly faster than training in Eternal Sky City.
A thought took shape in Lan Xuanyu’s heart: if there were enough ti for all mbers of the Thirty-Three Sky Wings to advance to the god level, then the things they could accomplish on Celestial Dragon Planet in the future would be imnse. Cooperating with the Federation to seize this place would not be entirely impossible.
Eight hours was a long ti, but when spent cultivating, it passed quickly. When Huang Yuanlang inford Lan Xuanyu and Bai Xiuxiu that they were about to arrive, the windows of the Flying Dragon Chariot had already opened, allowing them to see the scenery outside.
Before Rising Dragon City even ca into view, a towering mountain peak appeared before their eyes.
The massive mountain pierced through the clouds, rising straight upward. Its cliffs were extrely steep, and what was especially strange was that it was wider at the top and narrower at the bottom, like a giant mushroom planted into the ground.
According to the information they had consulted earlier, the Rising Dragon Platform stood over twelve thousand ters tall, truly deserving the title of “Celestial Dragon Planet’s highest peak.” Yet none of them had expected such a bizarre sight.
All dragon clan mbers were required to keep their flight altitude below the height of the Rising Dragon Platform unless they were leaving the atmosphere. This was a strict rule for dragons. Other flying races, of course, were even more restricted.
“That’s the Rising Dragon Platform,” Huang Yuanlang said with a trace of lancholy. “Not a blade of grass grows on it, yet it’s the place closest to the sky. It’s the true holy land of the dragon clan. Only those officially anointed as Dragon Knights have the right to freely enter and leave the platform.”
He knew very well that with his talent, he would never beco a Dragon Knight in this lifeti. And yet, who wouldn’t dream of soaring freely through the skies after being anointed?
Lan Xuanyu and Bai Xiuxiu exchanged glances. Amid their nervousness, there was also excitent. As ti passed, they were drawing ever closer to the very core of Celestial Dragon Planet.
The Flying Dragon Chariot began to descend gradually, heading toward the direction of the Rising Dragon Platform.
Centered around the platform, a vast city ca into view. The entire city had been constructed around it, with the Rising Dragon Platform as its core. From that central point, the city radiated outward. Judging by its size, Rising Dragon City was at least twice as large as Fenglong City. Strangely enough, there were very few exceptionally tall buildings; even the tallest did not exceed one hundred ters. Clearly, this too was related to the Rising Dragon Platform.
As they drew closer, they could see that the mountain truly matched Huang Yuanlang’s description. Its surface was completely barren, devoid of any vegetation, and entirely grayish-brown in color. It was unclear what material it was made of, but it was obvious that it was no ordinary stone. Otherwise, with such a top-heavy structure, it could never support such an enormous mass.
At its narrowest point near the base, the diater appeared to be only about a kiloter. At the widest point at the summit, however, the diater likely exceeded ten kiloters. It was truly a wonder among wonders, making it evident that the Rising Dragon Platform itself was sothing extraordinary.
“What material is the Rising Dragon Platform made of?” Bai Xiuxiu couldn’t help but ask Huang Yuanlang.
“I’m not sure either,” Huang Yuanlang replied. “According to legend, the Rising Dragon Platform wasn’t originally here. It descended from the heavens during the Dragonification Era and plunged into the earth. Centered around it, the number of mutated species in the surrounding area was the greatest. Although most of the mutated dragon clans died during that era, those who survived were also concentrated in this region. That’s why many believe the Rising Dragon Platform brought about the Dragonification—and evolution itself.”
Sothing that fell from the heavens?
Lan Xuanyu was deeply shaken. He summoned the Treasure Seeking Beast in his mind, asking whether it recognized the Rising Dragon Platform. The answer he received was no—there was no such object in the Treasure Seeking Beast’s mories.
However, the Treasure Seeking Beast told him that the Rising Dragon Platform was indeed a treasure, but its aura seed to be concealed by sothing, making it impossible to sense clearly. Unless its cultivation returned to its peak level from the Divine Realm, it could not determine what it truly was.
This was the first ti the Treasure Seeking Beast had been unable to fully identify a treasure.
As their curiosity about the city grew, the Flying Dragon Chariot slowly descended and landed in an area relatively close to the Rising Dragon Platform.
Below them lay an enormous plaza—equally awe-inspiring.
The ground of the plaza emitted a faint tallic sheen, the kind only unrefined rare tal ores would possess. Different rare tal ores had been polished smooth and used as paving stones. Because each contained different tals, they displayed a wide array of colors.
When these differently colored stones were assembled together, they ford intricate and orderly patterned designs—magnificent, strange, and spectacular.
So wealthy… Lan Xuanyu couldn’t help but feel envious. If all these rare tal ore bricks were excavated and refined, who knew how much rare tal could be produced? Celestial Dragon Planet was truly extravagantly rich.
From what Lan Xuanyu had learned during his ti on Celestial Dragon Planet, the planet had been continuously purchasing rare tals. However, these rare tals acquired from the various races of the Dragon Horse galaxy were not being extensively utilized. In terms of technology, Celestial Dragon Planet still lagged far behind the Douluo Federation. Yet rare tals were vital resources. If Celestial Dragon Planet’s technological developnt ever reached a sufficiently advanced level, these accumulated resources could be rapidly converted into imnse combat power and even greater wealth.
The tal ore bricks of this plaza were likely part of that stockpile.
The Flying Dragon Chariot landed on the plaza. Huang Yuanlang said, “This is Ascending Dragon Plaza, one of Celestial Dragon Planet’s greatest wonders. It took over one hundred and twenty years to complete. All the construction materials were carefully selected rare tal ores of considerable value. These ores can all be refined into rare tals. Dragons love things that shine—at night, once energy is infused into them, the entire plaza glows with dazzling light. It’s so beautiful that even from the Rising Dragon Platform, it’s clearly visible. Many couples have successfully proposed here.”
