Just as she reached the door, lody White saw her daughter’s tragic appearance from outside, and imdiately burst into tears.

"lanie, lanie, how did you end up like this? Who did this to you? Was it that bitch May Morgan? Should we call the police? I want her punished by law, I won’t let her get away with this!"

Holding lanie, whose face was covered in scratches, lody cried as she cursed May loudly.

Victor Grant couldn’t stand it any longer and pushed lody far away with a slap: "You old hag, how shaless can you be? Call the police? Ask your daughter if she dares! Ask her what she’s done! Does she even dare go to the police?"

lody was stunned by Victor’s words, quickly grabbing lanie’s arm, and questioned her: "lanie, what does he an? What have you done? Why don’t you dare call the police?"

"Mom. Stop asking, I’m in pain now, take to the hospital, take to the hospital!" lanie suddenly cried out in grievance, scaring lody into silence as she hurriedly followed Victor’s people to the hospital.

After sending Victor and the others away, May helped Vincent out of the villa. With the help of two bodyguards, they got into the car and planned to go to the hospital.

Actually, by the ti they got in the car, Vincent had already regained his strength and felt much clearer, no longer as dizzy and uncomfortable as before. So he suggested they not go to the hospital, but May insisted, leaving him with no choice but to accompany her on a trip to the hospital.

They first did a brain CT scan at the hospital, which showed nothing wrong. Then a blood test, which also showed no issues. In the end, almost everything was normal, and only then did May allow Vincent to return by car.

She knew in her heart that if Vincent really had been poisoned, modern dicine wouldn’t find anything wrong. They could only wait to see if there were issues later and then look for other solutions.

After all this hassle, it was already past one in the morning. On the way back, Vincent reached out to hug May, but even as he extended his arm, May didn’t react as she usually would. Instead, she deliberately turned her face to look at the night view outside.

Even though her gesture seed coincidental, Vincent knew she was doing it on purpose.

Vincent looked sowhat awkwardly at her back and asked her, "What’s wrong?"

"Nothing, just tired."

May sighed slightly, deliberately brushing Vincent off.

Seeing this, Vincent reached out to forcibly pull May into his arms, letting her rest there peacefully for a while: "I know you’re exhausted, just sleep if you’re tired, I’m here with you."

May reluctantly pushed him a bit, but couldn’t move him, mainly because she didn’t really want to deal with Vincent, so after a little struggle, she resignedly sighed and closed her eyes to rest.

Perhaps she truly was tired, because as soon as she lay in Vincent’s arms, she quickly closed her eyes and fell asleep.

When she woke up, Vincent had already carried her to the bedroom bed, and when she opened her eyes, she didn’t see Vincent there. Instead, the sound of running water ca from the nearby bathroom.

Vincent was taking a shower, so late at night, he still had the leisure to shower?

Hmph, well, he needed to wash off; he’d been with that bitch lanie, all covered in her scent. If he didn’t wash, who would?

Just thinking of Vincent and lanie naked together in bed made May’s stomach churn, even though she knew Vincent had been frad. Yet, she couldn’t stand the image of her man with another woman.

Maybe this is how possessiveness between lovers works?

Vincent took quite a while before coming out of the bathroom. Wearing a clean, exquisite robe, he stepped out, and at that mont, May suddenly had a flashback to their first ti together.

"You’re awake?" Vincent saw May leaning against the bedhead, her gaze heavy as she looked at him, and walked over to ask her.

May lowered her eyes slightly, responding in a light voice: "Mm," and said nothing more.

Vincent felt sothing was odd since their way back; they’d been passionate during the hospital visit, so why was she acting like this now?

Does this woman’s emotions change too quickly?

"What’s wrong with you? What’s got you upset?" Vincent didn’t want to argue with May, and seeing her unhappy, he hurriedly tried to appease her with kind words.

May gave him a cold glance, then took out her phone to show him the set of photos: "See for yourself."

Vincent accepted the phone suspiciously, flipped through the photos one by one, and quickly explained to May, his face turning green: "I was frad by lanie, you know that, at the ti I was drugged by her, and so..."

"So you just went with the flow, huh?" May scoffed, her almond-shaped eyes widening: "Vincent, you dare say lanie ans nothing? When I got in, you two were naked, not a shred of clothing on!"

"Well, I was out cold, wasn’t I? It must have been that bitch lanie who took off my clothes while I was unconscious, I didn’t feel anything."

"Really didn’t feel anything? You didn’t feel that when I pulled the covers off, you were all hard down there!" May said and deliberately jabbed at his lower part, saying teasingly: "Didn’t feel anything? Do you think I’m stupid? I bet you two got it on, huh?"

Actually, May was just bluffing Vincent; the covers were pulled off by Victor’s n, and May didn’t have the chance to see if he really reacted. But of course, she had to say it; otherwise, how could she justify giving him a hard ti?

Vincent was nearly driven crazy by May’s bluff; he was unconscious from the mont he entered the room, how would he know if his body reacted?

Besides, even if he did have a reaction and sothing happened with lanie, he was drugged and coerced, he was innocent, alright?

"May, I was drugged by lanie then, you know that, so I..."

"So you can cheat on behind my back, huh? Hmm?" May glared at Vincent in anger and deliberately questioned him: "And told outsiders you were sick of long ago, wanted a new wife, right? Said I’m just a country girl, uneducated, not as refined as lanie with her elite university degree, right?"

After May said this, Vincent couldn’t help breaking into a cold sweat. Okay, he did say those things to lody White, but he said them quietly, had lody recorded him?

Wait, when he talked with lody, he didn’t feel anything odd from that woman, was May just bluffing him?
