Song Xing Xing woke up, looked at the ti on her phone, and realized that she had slept for half a day. Her eyes stared at the phone screen with a dazed look as she was having a hard ti believing that she had slept that long.
When she entered the room, the sky was still bright. But now, everything around her was dark. She had initially planned to take a quick nap. Who would have thought that she would sleep this long?
The bedsheet rustled as she tried to move. However, a while later, a pair of strong arms pulled her back.
"You're awake?" Lu Xun's voice was thick with sleepiness, making her drowsy again.
Her neck shrunk, feeling his breath tickling her. "Hmm... Why didn't you wake up?"
"You were obviously tired," Lu Xun said. "It's better to let you sleep a little longer."
Song Xing Xing sighed. "What would your parents say?"
His chuckle reverberated in the room. "My parents were used to long-distance traveling and taking a long flight for my father's research. They understand that your jetlag."
His words eased her a little bit.
As she was still thinking about facing his parents in the morning, the man's lips fell on a sensitive spot on her neck.
"Sleep a little bit more," Lu Xun coaxed her. "I'll wake you up a while later."
"I've slept long enough."
"Otherwise, would you like to do sothing else?"
Her heart jumped in panic. Feeling sothing poking behind her, Song Xing Xing imdiately figured out what he was planning to do. She closed her eyes and finally stopped moving.
Lu Xun woke her up when the sun was up.
After taking a shower and changing into sothing more presentable, Song Xing Xing went down the stairs to look for Lu Xun.
Zhen Wen Yu appeared from behind the kitchen. Her eyes lit up when she saw the girl. She waved her hand and called, "Xing Xing, co over."
Her eyes darted around the area. Seeing that there was no one around, Song Xing Xing followed Zhen Wen Yu into the kitchen.
"Mom made so soup." Zhen Wen Yu scooped the soup and poured it into the bowl. "Quickly give it a taste and tell what you think."
Song Xing Xing reached for the bowl and took a sip. When she looked up again, Lu Xun's mother was staring at her with an expecting gaze.
"Should I add in more salt?"
"Just a little bit is fine."
Zhen Wen Yu nodded. "This is what I thought too." She grabbed the bottle of salt and sprinkled a little more salt in the soup. She tasted the soup again and was satisfied with the result this ti. "Xing Xing, you can cook?"
"Mhm... I cook a little bit. But I usually cook as a hobby."
"Cooking as a hobby is also good," Zhen Wen Yu smiled. "Lu Xun said that you like to eat seafood."
Her face reddened. Song Xing Xing wondered just what did her fiance had told his mother about her. She can only hope that it was not anything ridiculous.
"I sent Lu Xun and his father to the market to buy so fresh produce. Later, mom will cook so seafood dishes for you to try."
Song Xing Xing was still wondering where did her man had disappeared to. It turned out that he went out to shop. However, would he know how to choose fresh produce?
Although she had shopped with Lu Xun in the market previously, she had never seen him choose any fresh produce.
"You don't need to worry. Lu Xun and his dad are quite pros at this," Zhen Wen Yu said. Her lips curled into a smile. "Next ti, you can always hand over this task to Lu Xun. His eyes in choosing fresh produce are better than anyway."
"Really?"

Song Xing Xing laughed as she listened to his mother telling her stories about him. It was a great opportunity to learn about Lu Xun from his mother. This was also considered as bonding with her mother-in-law, right?
"Right. I have already discussed it with your dad last night," Zhen Wen Yu said as she turned off the fire. "Because of your dad's work, we can only head over to et your parents next month to discuss your wedding."
Song Xing Xing looked at her mother-in-law in shock. "Isn't that too soon? Mom, Lu Xun already told that dad is busy with his research. We are not in a rush."
Because Lu Xun's parents were living abroad, Song Xing Xing had thought that it will be a while before they could discuss the wedding.
"It's not too soon." Zhen Wen Yu flashed her a teasing smile. "It seed that soone is impatient to marry a wife ho."
It did not take her too long to guess that her mother-in-law was talking about Lu Xun.
"Lu Xun had spoken a little bit about you." After washing her hands and wiping them dry, Zhen Wen Yu reached to hold Song Xing Xing's hand. "Actually, mom also wanted to thank you for giving Lu Xun a chance. You should know about his past relationship." A heavy sigh escaped her. "That boy was hurt too deeply and was bent to stay single forever. I can finally be at ease now that he finally found soone he could share his life with."
Hearing his mother's words made her embarrassed. Moreover, the way Lu Xun's mother was looking at her was as if she was looking at soone great.
With Lu Xun's identity, he could choose to be with anyone he likes. However, Song Xing Xing was glad that he had waited for years and finally t her.
She could not imagine how it would be if Lu Xun did not appear in her life.
Just then, the two of them heard the sound of soone entering the door.
When Song Xing Xing ca out from the kitchen she saw that Lu Xun was carrying a few heavy bags in both his hands.
Their gaze t and his eyes lit up brightly.
Song Xing Xing walked over, wanting to help him carry those bags.
"It's fine. I can still carry them." Lu Xun leaned over to peck at her lips.
His parents were still around. What was this man trying to do? The thought of being kissed in front of his parents made her embarrassed.
The smile on his face widened. Lu Xun really liked seeing the tinge of pink on her cheek. "Go and sit down first. I'll co down after a quick shower."
After spending an hour in the market to choose seafood, Lu Xun thought that the sll was stuck on his body.
"After breakfast, I'll take you around the city."
