After chatting with Lu Xun's parents for half an hour, Song Xing Xing was finally more at ease. The couple was just like Lu Xun and Lu An Ran had described.
His mother was easy to talk to and his father was quiet but polite.
Lu Xun's mother often accompanied her husband to various places as he was doing his research. Because she had not t many people in the past, she was a little talkative with Song Xing Xing.
Knowing that Lu Xun ca back with his fiance, Zhen Wen Yu had prepared a al to welco them. The Lu family mbers gathered around the table to eat their al together.
While Zhen Wen Yu chatted with Song Xing Xing, Lu Jiang turned to Lu An Ran's husband to discuss a few matters regarding his research.
"It felt good to finally find soone that I can talk to," Zhen Wen Yu said as she looked at Song Xing Xing. "The past few days, your father often talk about his research. I don't think that I can hear him talking about them for another minute."
Lu Jiang looked at his wife and frowned. "This is not what you told previously. Last night, didn't you look at with your eyes full of adoration?"
"What are you saying?" Zhen Wen Yu slapped her husband lightly on his arms. "Be careful with your words. Lest your daughter-in-law might laugh at you."
Lu Jiang shifted his gaze at Song Xing Xing before he looked away and coughed.
Song Xing Xing looked at the couple and thought that the two of them had a very good relationship.
"Right, this ti the two of you have to stay a little longer," Zhen Wen Yu spoke as she turned to Song Xing Xing. "It's not easy for the two of you to co to C Country."
"Mom, I still have to work."
Zhen Wen Yu looked at her son. "Then, you can head back to look after your company first. When your father is done with his work, I'll head over to Capital City with Xing Xing."
Lu Xun looked at his mother helplessly. "Mom, Xing Xing still has to work." Why did he feel as if his mother was trying to fight for his wife from him?
"Didn't you say that Xing Xing worked for one of your companies?" Zhen Wen Yu frowned. "Then, just let her take a few more days off."
Song Xing Xing watched the mother and son exchange and smiled.
"The two of you should be tired after a long flight," Zhen Wen Yu spoke as the al ended. "Go upstairs and rest. I have already let the auntie clean up your room. Lu Xun, go and bring Xing Xing over to your bedroom to rest."
After exchanging a few words with his mother, Song Xing Xing followed Lu Xun upstairs.
The mont she entered his bedroom, Song Xing Xing began to look around.
This was the bedroom that Lu Xun had grown up in from his teenage years. Naturally, there were a lot of mories of him in every corner of the room.
Song Xing Xing stared at an old photo of him with his classmates and tried to guess which one is her fiance. Her eyes flashed when she finally found him. She pointed at the picture and turned to him with a bright smile on her face. "This one is you, right?"
Lu Xun chuckled. He stretched his arms and pinched at the tip of her nose. "Smart girl."
Song Xing Xing continued to stare at the photograph for a long ti. "You look very young."
His expression changed. Lu Xun narrowed his eyes as he approached him. "Xing Xing, are you trying to say that I look old now?"
Seeing the dangerous look in his eyes, Song Xing Xing subconsciously took a few steps back. "I didn't say that. I think you look good now. Anyway, I like a matured man."
Just as she took another step back, her legs hit sothing behind her, causing her to fall backward. With a yelp, her body bounced on the mattress. Before she could stand up, the man had already pinned her down with his body.
"Lu Xun, don't play around." Her eyes darted around. "What if your mother cos to look for you?"
They were at his parents' house and Song Xing Xing was a little worried that soone might walk into the room.
"She won't co. Besides, I already locked the door." Lu Xun laid down beside her and wrapped his arms around her waist. He pulled her closer until her back was touching his chest. "Sleep. I know that you are tired after a long flight."
Song Xing Xing turned around in his embrace and faced him. "Then, what about you?"
Lu Xun looked at her with a hint of amused. "Of course, I'll be sleeping with you."
Her face turned red. Although it was not strange for them to sleep together, they are in his parents' house. Song Xing Xing felt a little embarrassed as she imagined what his mom and dad would think about her.
"My mom already arranged for us to stay in this room during our trip here," Lu Xun said. "Xing Xing, if you kick out, then where am I supposed to sleep?" A soft chuckle escaped him when she did not answer. He hold her tighter and kissed her on top of her head. "Sleep. Tomorrow, I'll take you out around this place, alright?"
Song Xing Xing was actually very tired after the long flight. It did not take her a long ti before she finally fell asleep in his arms.
After watching her sleeping face for a long ti, Lu Xun finally got up. He helped Song Xing Xing to sleep comfortably on the pillow and pulled the quilt over her body.
Lu Xun planted a kiss on her forehead before he left the room.
When he walked into the living room, his sister, Lu An Ran was already waiting for him. She flashed him a teasing smile but did not say anything.
With a sigh, Lu Xun took a seat beside her. "What happened?"
The smile on Lu An Ran's face swiftly disappeared. She knew the reason her brother was looking for her at this ti.
"It's just as what I have ntioned to you," Lu An Ran spoke. "You know well that Anna had a lot of friends here. Yesterday, she ca to find our mother and pretended that it was a chance eting."
A deep frown appeared on his face. Lu Xun seed to recall that Shi An Na was not supposed to be in C Country at this ti.
"How did mom react?"
"Brother, you know mom well. There's no way that she would fall for Anna's words."
Lu Xun heaved in relief.
"However, I think you should be careful," Lu An Ran reminded "I don't know what's going on with Anna.. But I won't find it strange if she would try to create trouble once she learns that you and Xing Xing are planning to get married."
