Song Xing Xing was a little startled upon hearing his words. She glanced at her watch and saw that it was midnight. She turned around and wrapped her arms around his waist. Then, she tiptoed to kiss him on the cheek. "Thank you."
Her gaze shifted again. Song Xing Xing saw a couple of fireflies flying over near Lu Xun and laughed. "How did you find out about this place?"
"Long Fei told about this place," Lu Xun said. "I thought that you might like it here."
"Un. I like it here." She tilted her head to one side and flashed a playful look at him. "Is this scenery my birthday present?"
Lu Xun heaved a soft breath. "Well, sort of."
Song Xing Xing laughed at his answer. "What do you an sort of?" Her eyes glittered brilliantly in the night. "Are you telling that you have prepared sothing else?"
The faint glow from the fireflies illuminated his expression. Song Xing Xing saw the look on his face and thought that Lu Xun seed a little nervous. His eyes were warm and gentle, but there was also a hint of worry in them.
It was dark at night, but she could still see his pale face.
A slight frown appeared on her face. Song Xing Xing wondered if Lu Xun was feeling unwell. Just as she was about to reach out to touch his face, Lu Xun had first spoken.
"I have sothing I wanted to say to you."
The fireflies flew over towards them, glowing. Their glow lit up the area surrounding them. Song Xing Xing thought that the feeling was as if they were standing under a spotlight.
Without knowing why her heartbeat accelerated.
"What is it?"
Song Xing Xing watched as he put a hand into his pants pocket. She did not know what he had taken out, but it was big enough that he could cover it in his fist.
As she was still wondering what he was going to give her as her birthday present, the man suddenly went down on one knee.
Song Xing Xing watched this scene with a dazed look on her face. Her mind suddenly went blank and she could not figure out what was going on. Her eyes shifted to et his gaze and her heart was beating furiously against her ribcage. Song Xing Xing found that it was difficult for her to breathe.
Lu Xun was looking back at her with the most gentle look on his face. In the dark night, his eyes were especially srizing and she was unable to look away.
It was only when he revealed what was in his palm that Song Xing Xing was finally able to react.
Subconsciously, she took a step back. Her eyes widened and her hands sprung up to cover her mouth, hiding her shock.
There was a small velvet box in his hand.
It did not take her a long ti to figure out what was going on at this ti.
She suddenly felt as if it was harder for her to breathe. Her legs turned to jelly as she was shocked at what was going on.
Lu Xun was proposing?
Suddenly, everything around her had disappeared. The only thing that she could see is Lu Xun.
His movent seed very slow. Song Xing Xing watched as he unveiled the box. A white gold ring appeared before her eyes. The diamond on the center of the ring winked at her.
"Song Xing Xing," His voice was shaky.
A thousand words ca to his mind. There were a lot of things that Lu Xun wanted to tell her at this ti. Although he had rehearsed those words a few tis before, now that he was in front of his girlfriend, Lu Xun found that he could not rember what he wanted to tell her.
His hand grip at the velvet box tightly. He was growing frustrated at himself.
"I love you," Lu Xun spoke after a long silence between them. He suddenly wondered if she would laugh at him because his words might sound a little cheesy.
"Before I t you, I was very sure that I wanted to spend the rest of my life alone," Lu Xun continued. "But then you appeared. You made realize that I should not give up on myself and that not all stories would be the sa."
A faint smile curled on her lips. Without knowing why Song Xing Xing felt her nose start to sour and her eyes were beginning to sting.
Seeing the faint smile on her face gave him a little confidence that he was doing the right thing.
"Each ti that I spent with you, you have never failed to make happy. Each ti that we spent our ti together, I always think about how I wanted us to always be together until we both grow old."
Lu Xun felt his heartbeat turn chaotic. At this ti, he did not know what he had spoken. The only thing he knew was that he have to convince her to agree.
"I love your smile and that twinkle in your eyes whenever you look at . I love you and your cat, Mr. Fluffball."
Song Xing Xing could not help but chuckle. This man was proposing to her but he had not forgotten to ntion her love rival, that fat, stupid, grey cat.
"I love everything about you," Lu Xun continued. "If you are willing to trust , I promise that I will make you happy for the rest of your life." He took a deep breath and spoke, "Song Xing Xing, I have a question for you."
"What?"
"Will you marry ?"
Before Song Xing Xing gave him her answer, he did not think that he would be able to relax.
His future depended on her and his happiness was in her hand.
Lu Xun watched as the girl in front of him continued to stare back at him. There was a smile on her face but he could not tell what was going on in her mind.
He hoped that she would give him the answer that he wanted.
If she rejected him... he would be disappointed. However, he would try to understand her reasons. He loved her very much that he would try and woo her again until that day that she would agree.
Their surroundings were filled with the sounds of the night insect. However, at this ti, Lu Xun could only hear the sound of his own heartbeat.
His throat felt a little dry. Lu Xun watched as she stepped closer to him and glomped into him. He almost fell back due to his sudden move.
Her arms were hugging him tightly. A second later, she released her arms and placed a hand on his cheek. Her lips t him into a deep kiss. And then, she gave him the answer that he has been waiting for. Her voice was a little shaky as she spoke, "Yes."
Lu Xun could finally breathe in relief.. His hand snaked behind her head as he pulled her closer to kiss her again.
