Dinner with her grandparents and her eldest uncle ended peacefully. Song Xing Xing left with her family and excused herself to return to her room.
As soon as she was slumped into bed, Song Xing Xing texted Lu Xun that she had arrived ho. Within a few seconds, her phone rang and Lu Xun's na appeared on her phone screen. She sat in a lotus position and slid her finger on the screen. Surprisingly, Lu Xun's handso face appeared on the screen.
Her face grew flustered and Song Xing Xing did not expect that it was a video call.
Looking at how he was not wearing his glasses and how the end of his hair was still a little wet, Song Xing Xing guessed that he had just co out from the shower.
Suddenly, she was conscious about how she might have looked in front of him at this ti. She had just returned from her grandparents' house and her appearance might be a little ssy. Swiftly, she lowered her head and combed her hair with her fingers.
Song Xing Xing was screaming internally. If he only had told her that he was going to video call her, she could get herself ready first.
Hearing the sound of his laughter, Song Xing Xing looked up again. "Why are you laughing?"
Lu Xun flashed her a smile. "I just thought that my girlfriend is adorable."
Song Xing Xing pursed her lips, wondering if the man was teasing her.
On the phone screen, Lu Xun was seen standing up to put down his phone on the table. Then, he walked around to pick up his glasses.
Song Xing Xing stared at the bespectacled man and thought that it was a pity that he had his pretty eyes hidden behind his glasses. However, as she thought of how she had beco one of the people who can get close to him and stared into those pair of eyes, her heart was surging with happiness.
As he was now sitting a distance away from the cara, Song Xing Xing realized that he was still in his bathrobe.
"Did you have fun at your grandparents' place?"
"Mhm..." Song Xing Xing nodded. She proceed to tell him about her grandmother's cooking and how her brother had almost figured out that she was dating. "What did you have for dinner?"
As Lu Xun listed out everything he ate for dinner, Song Xing Xing took the chance to ogle the person on the screen. Although she had many chances to stare at him, watching him through the phone screen gave her a different feeling.
At least, Song Xing Xing was sure that Lu Xun would be unable to see where she was looking at.
Because of his sitting position, his collar was a little gaped, giving her the chance to admire his collarbone as well as a little bit of his chest muscle.
Her eyes were raking over his body and her mind was wandering into a dangerous zone.
She started to wonder if this video call was his attempt to seduce her.
It was sumr but this night felt a little hotter than usual.
"Xing Xing, why is your face red?"
Song Xing Xing snapped out of her trance and quickly averted her gaze. "The weather today is a little hot. I should just go and adjust the temperature here." She moved away from his sight and cool down.
As she looked into the mirror, Song Xing Xing was surprised to see that her face had gotten so red. If she continued to stare at him a while longer, she might have noseblood.
After cooling down, she fiddled with the air-conditioner and finally sat down on her bed again.
This ti, she did not dare to look at his face as she was afraid that he might have found out her thoughts.
At this ti, soone knocked on Lu Xun's door. He excused himself and walked over to the door to look at the visitor.
Although Song Xing Xing could not see what was going on, she could still hear the voice of Lu Xun talking with soone.
It was late at night and her boyfriend was still dressed sexily in his bathrobe...
A wild thought ca to her mind and Song Xing Xing narrowed her eyes as she looked at the phone screen.
When Lu Xun returned to his seat, he imdiately noticed that there was sothing wrong with the way his girlfriend was looking at him. He placed the docunts that Bei Yuan had handed to him on the table and asked, "Xing Xing, what's wrong?"
"President Lu..."
A deep frown appeared on his face when he heard the way she was calling him. Suddenly, Lu Xun could sll trouble.
"You go outstation a lot," Song Xing Xing started. "Tell , have you ever been visited by a girl around this ti?"
Lu Xun let out a dry cough when he finally understood what she was trying to ask. "Just now, it was Assistant Bei Yuan. He ca to hand over so docunts from the eting earlier."
"You're not answering my question."
Lu Xun did not know how he should be answering her. This felt like a trick question. Whether he tell her the truth or not, he would still get himself into trouble.
"I have." In the end, he decided to tell her the truth. "But I can tell you that nothing ever happened. When that kind of thing happens, I would usually slam the door and call the security."
The last ti sothing like that happened... It was Shi An Na who had appeared before him. But, these kinds of things were not sothing that he could tell his girlfriend. Or else, he might be forced to eat more sour dishes when they t again in Capital City,
Seeing that his girlfriend had kept her silence, Lu Xun was a little worried. "Xing Xing, don't you trust ?"
Song Xing Xing pouted. Although he was sure that Lu Xun is not that kind of person, when she thought that there was soone who would look for him at night like this, she was a little unhappy. Why is her boyfriend so good-looking?
Lu Xun took ti to coax his girlfriend.
Fortunately, after so ti, Song Xing Xing was smiling again. The couple chatted until it was almost midnight. At the thought that she will have to go on a shopping trip with her mother, Song Xing Xing reluctantly said her good night and ended the call.
As Lu Xun put his phone down, a thought ca into his mind and his lips slowly curled into a smile.
