Chapter 91: Late at Night, I Took a Girl Racing!

About an hour before dusk, the campus suddenly ca alive.

The shut-in guys had finally woken up, ready to go out, ogle girls, and brag.

The girls didn’t mind the blazing sun either out buying snacks and sipping milk tea.

At the sa ti, Mu Xiaoxiao and Zhu Jingyue returned to Ganfanren after a round of business errands.

Their faces were full of excitent.

The mont they stepped inside, they rushed up to Jiang Zhou.

“Boss! We secured the deal with the Fashion Institute. How’s that for aweso?”

Jiang Zhou was pleasantly surprised. “Really? That easy?”

“The departnt director was actually very agreeable. Turns out, she’s been following our food recomndations and was happy to have us collaborate.”

“Nice work. I’ll log this as a major achievent for both of you.”

Mu Xiaoxiao’s eyes lit up. “Seriously? Do we get a reward?”

“The reward is the honor of a major achievent!”

“…”

Zhu Jingyue deadpanned, “Boss… you serious?”

“Oh, you want a reward?” Jiang Zhou reached over, grabbed a leftover veggie bun from the table, and handed it to them. “Here. Eat up before it gets cold.”

This was the lunch Han Rou brought him. He didn’t finish it.

By “before it gets cold”, he ant “completely cold already.”

Zhu Jingyue instantly deflated. “Boss… that’s just stingy.”

“Then how about you head to the delivery team and see if there are any cute guys to bring ho for a couple days. Play around a bit, then send them back to .”

“No thanks. We’re not interested in them.”

Jiang Zhou coughed. “Then… how about you take ho for two days instead? Make do with what you have? I think I’m in decent shape.”

Mu Xiaoxiao imdiately took a step back. “Ugh! So this is the kind of boss you are!”

“I’m proud to dedicate myself to my employees!”

“Forget it. This kind of ‘reward’ is worse than none at all. Boss, you just went from tall and dashing to short and greasy in my mind.”

Jiang Zhou stopped ssing with them and pulled out two thick red envelopes from a drawer.

They were fat enough to be filled with a good sum.

The girls’ eyes imdiately sparkled.

“Thank you, boss! You’re so handso!”

Jiang Zhou spat. “Greedy much? Now go hand out flyers at the Normal University and the Fashion Institute.”

Mu Xiaoxiao exchanged a glance with Zhu Jingyue. “Boss, as thanks for your generosity, how about you take us ho for two days?”

“No thanks. I’ve got no space, the bed’s too small and you’ll be in the way. Off to work with you!”

“Alright, alright, we’re going.”

The two girls cheerfully chattered as they left the office.

Right then, Han Rou walked by and shot Jiang Zhou a glare. “Just wait till I tell your future wife. You’re toast.”

Jiang Zhou slapped the table. “I didn’t even do anything! Don’t fra !”

“Hmph. Maybe you didn’t do anything, but you thought plenty, didn’t you?”

“Teaming up with Feng Siruo, are you? I can’t believe I ever cared about you!”

Han Rou huffed and marched out with her small bag. “Day’s over. Not seeing that jerk of a brother is the real reward!”

“The jerk’s brother is … so who’s the jerk?”

Jiang Zhou muttered as he suddenly rembered. Feng Siruo had gone out with her aunt.

She’d totally ghosted him and hadn’t even apologized.

Wait… ssage?

Jiang Zhou picked up his phone and saw Feng Siro’s last few texts:

“Next ti, okay?”

“Sorry…”

“I didn’t know my aunt was coming.”

“Sad face, sad face, sad face”

anwhile, at Tingxiang Tea House…

By a rockery beside a koi pond, elegant classical music flowed softly through a refined little courtyard.

Feng Yiyun and Feng Siruo sat across from each other, sipping tea and chatting.

Well, Feng Yiyun was doing all the talking.

She rambled about family affairs or vented about business woes.

Feng Siruo, as always, played the perfect listener — quiet, attentive, never interrupting.

But this ti, a faint frown slowly appeared between her brows.

“Siruo, what’s wrong? You’ve been unsettled since we arrived.”

“Auntie, I want to go back.”

Feng Yiyun nearly choked on her tea. “You haven’t seen in three months! You missed National Day too. Don’t you miss ?”

Feng Siruo was silent for a beat. “…Auntie, can you take back?”

“You…”

“I really want to go back…”

Feng Yiyun sighed and set down her teacup. “Fine. I’ll take you.”

No one could resist Feng Siruo when she used her soft voice and pitiful look.

Even if Feng Yiyun didn’t know why she was so determined to leave, she still called the driver.

At Shangjing University, the sun had already set.

The moon now hung in the sky.

Feng Siruo first ran to Ganfanren, but found the place closed.

Then she rushed to the small printing building.

That was still open, the printers were humming.

Inside, only Su Nan was there working on flyers.

“Feng Siruo? What’s wrong?”

Feng Siruo blinked. “Su Nan, have you seen Jiang Zhou?”

Su Nan was surprised. “No, I think he should be at HQ.”

“He wasn’t there.”

“Then maybe he’s back at his dorm?”

Feng Siruo nodded and ran out again.

She rembered his last ssage at noon. It sounded grumpy.

He told her to “do whatever” and that he was going back to work.

He must’ve been upset.

She stopped to catch her breath.

Tiny beads of sweat ford on her fair nose, her cheeks slightly flushed.

“I’m back.”

“Where are you?”

“Sad face, sad face, sad face.”

She sent three quick ssages.

Ding-ding!

Suddenly, her phone buzzed.

“Wait at the school gate. I’m taking you out.”

Feng Siruo stopped in her tracks, staring at her phone.

Once she was sure it wasn’t a dream, she turned and bolted toward the gate.

By then, darkness had swallowed the sky.

Crowds of students filled the streets, out shopping and eating, noisy and bustling.

Standing by the gate, Feng Siruo felt a growing sense of unease.

Laughter and chatter surrounded her, louder by the second.

She crouched down, curling into herself — like a frightened bunny caught in a pack of wolves.

Her shoulders trembled as anxiety bubbled up inside.

Until, a familiar voice broke through the noise like a hallucination:

“You disappear for a whole day, ghost , and now you rember to co back?”

She looked up. “S-Sorry.”

Jiang Zhou crooked his finger. “Co on. Get in.”

“Where are we going?”

“No idea. But we’re going sowhere.”

“Are you mad?”

Jiang Zhou shook his head. “I just think it’s a bad on to have our first date interrupted. So while today’s not over, we’re making it up.”

“I didn’t bring any candy…”

“You’re the candy today. If I get mad later, I’ll eat you instead.”

That startled Feng Siruo a little, but she relaxed soon after.

She knew Jiang Zhou didn’t an it.

He was joking.

If he could still joke, he wasn’t really mad.

So she climbed into the passenger seat, eyes full of curiosity.

“Is this your first ti riding with ?”

Feng Siruo nodded. “Can you use nitrous?”

Jiang Zhou smirked. “Good question. Let show you real-life QQ Speed.”

Monts later, the engine roared across the road.

Jiang Zhou floored it and shifted gears like a man possessed.

He had twelve license points in total, half already gone from last night thanks to Chu Yuwei.

Spending the rest on Feng Siruo? Totally worth it.

His lips curled in a mischievous grin.

“How’s that? Having fun, Student Feng?”

“I’m happy!”

…Huh?

Happy?

Really happy?

As he slowed for a turn, Jiang Zhou glanced sideways, only to see Feng Siro laughing out loud.

He had a strange feeling about this girl.

Why does this girl seem a little… odd?

She’s usually terrified of people, but she’s not scared at all of speeding?
