Chapter 90: This Was Feng Siruo’s First Lie:

After a two-hour nap, the fatigue from the night before had finally worn off.

Jiang Zhou washed his face and made his way, light-footed, to Ganfanren.

Lu Qiang, head of the delivery team, was already there waiting.

As soon as Jiang Zhou stepped inside, Lu Qiang walked up quickly.

“Boss, there’s sothing I have to report to you.”

Jiang Zhou sat down and lit a cigarette. “What, fell in love and don’t want to work anymore? Just so you know, I’m not paying the last month’s wages if you quit.”

Lu Qiang hurried to light it for him. “No, no, it’s about those food orders from outside campus again.”

“Again? What now?”

“Well, last month we got two outside orders. I had so ti, so I delivered them myself.”

Jiang Zhou nodded. “Never offend a custor lightly. You did the right thing there.”

Lu Qiang scratched his head. “The issue is… she ordered again today.”

“What do you an again?”

“This month, we’ve received four external orders. Three of them were from soone nad Yin Shuya.”

Jiang Zhou frowned. “Did she place another order today?”

Lu Qiang nodded. “She did. And the delivery addresses just keep getting farther away.”

“She’s changing addresses? Is she ssing with us? This is a new venture, so I can’t afford interference from competitors.”

“I wanted to ask, if she orders again, should we still deliver?”

Jiang Zhou thought for a mont.

Ordering food to different, increasingly distant addresses might not seem suspicious at first… but the more he thought about it, the less it felt right.

“Lu Qiang, did you deliver the order today?”

“I assigned soone. They should be back soon.”

“Did you ever deliver one of her orders?”

“The first one, yeah.”

“Then tell , what did you see?”

Lu Qiang organized his thoughts. “She lives in a grey villa, with a swimming pool. Great figure, not even thirty, gorgeous, and very classy.”

Slurp…

Jiang Zhou wiped the corner of his mouth. He almost drooled. “So, a rich lady?”

“I couldn’t say for sure.”

Jiang Zhou nodded. “If she orders again tomorrow, let know. I’ll deliver it myself.”

Lu Qiang gave him a scornful look.

Wow. The boss really has no sha.

As soon as he heard it was a hot rich woman, he decided to deliver the food personally?

“What’s with that look, huh?”

“Boss, I was just thinking how handso and aweso you are.”

Jiang Zhou patted his shoulder. “I want to check if she’s ssing with us or not.”

Lu Qiang imdiately nodded. “Don’t worry, boss, I won’t say a word!”

“Good. Now get going.”

“Got it, boss!” Lu Qiang hopped on his scooter and zipped away.

anwhile, Jiang Zhou was deep in thought again.

He genuinely had no particular interest in rich won.

After all, he didn’t believe anyone could claim to be a “rich lady” in front of Feng Siruo.

What worried him was intent.

Ganfanren was still in its infancy.

Especially before the upcoming investnt eting, he couldn’t allow any risks.

A couple of orders might be from a regular custor, but if she kept ordering and switching addresses, sothing was off.

This woman clearly had a reason to approach Ganfanren.

So he had to check it out in person to find out what she was really after.

His gut told him: sothing’s up.

He glanced at the ti.

Wasn’t it about ti for the shopping trip he and Feng Siruo had agreed on yesterday?

Ding-ding-ding!

His phone suddenly buzzed.

Feng Siruo’s profile picture popped up in the notification. “I’m not going anymore.”

Jiang Zhou paused. “Why not? Didn’t we agree to go shopping?”

“My aunt ca to visit.”

“I see.”

“Don’t be mad, okay?” She sent a few more teary emojis.

Jiang Zhou stared at the screen and sighed.

He couldn’t just go and et the Feng family openly right now.

Only by staying hidden could he catch them off guard in the future.

So he typed back. “I’m mad. I’m never asking you out again.”

“Nooo!”

“Whatever. I’m done talking. Gotta work.”

He tossed his phone onto the desk and got back to his business proposal draft.

anwhile, outside the girls’ dormitory…

The noon sun was hot and blinding.

Few students were outside. Even the couples had fled to the shade.

Under the thick canopy of a sycamore tree, Feng Siruo stood anxiously, staring at her phone.

She waited and waited, but no new ssages ca.

“Next ti, okay?”

“Sorry…”

“I didn’t know my aunt was coming.”

She sent ssage after ssage, but it was like throwing pebbles into the sea.

What she didn’t know was that Jiang Zhou was already deep in work and hadn’t even looked at his phone.

Still, she was panicking — biting her lip, her gaze flitting around nervously.

Just then, a sleek black Bentley slowly rolled down the main road.

The door opened, and out stepped a woman in her forties.

She wore a wide-brimd black hat with a sh veil, black gloves, and black heels.

The outfit was a bit extravagant, but her presence was undeniable.

This was Feng Siruo’s aunt, Feng Yiyun. “Siruo? Waiting for your aunt?”

Hearing her voice, Feng Siruo quickly stuffed her phone into her pocket. “Auntie…”

“Co on, let’s go have so tea.”

“…Okay.”

Feng Yiyun glanced at her. “You don’t look very happy.”

Feng Siruo pressed her lips together. “It’s just… a bit hot.”

“Is that so? Then hurry, get in the car.”

“…Mm.”

Feng Siruo stepped into the Bentley, her mind uneasy.

The car pulled away and glided along the tree-lined road.

Neither of them spoke.

But Feng Yiyun, being a woman, had sharp instincts.

Sothing was off about her niece today.

She noticed Feng Siruo kept one hand in her pocket and not casually.

Her right arm was stiff. She was clearly holding sothing.

Judging by the shape… Feng Yiyun was certain she was clutching her phone.

But why?

There was only one answer.

She was waiting for a ssage.

“Siruo, are you waiting for soone to text you?”

Feng Siruo jumped. She quickly pulled her hand out. “No…”

Feng Yiyun smiled. “Little girl, you’ve never been good at lying. Did you forget that?”

“I…”

“Co on, tell Auntie. Who’s so important you’re glued to your phone?”

Feng Siruo hesitated. “…I had an argunt with my roommate.”

Feng Yiyun blinked. “You’re not the type to fight with people.”

“She said I’m a mute.”

“What? Who dares say that to you? Tell and I’ll have her expelled!”

“No, no… she apologized. She bought candy. I was waiting for her just now.”

“Is that so? Fine. If she apologized, then forget it.”

Feng Yiyun believed her.

After all, her niece had never lied before, so she didn’t question it further.

But Feng Siruo’s heart was pounding.

Because this was the first ti in her life she had ever lied to hide soone she cared about.

At the sa ti, back at Ganfanren…

The black chocolate keyboard clacked away.

Finally, a complete business proposal appeared on the screen.

Just then, Han Rou walked in and tossed a colorful flyer onto the desk.

“What’s this?”

“Picked it up from the street, just a flyer.”

Jiang Zhou picked it up and glanced at it.

Turns out, a new amusent park was opening in the northern suburbs.

The flyer said it would open officially on October 18.

At the bottom was a contact number starting with 88…
