Shen Mochen was searching through the bookshelves without turning his head, and said indifferently, "It's just boring gossip. So what?"
Catherine rolled her pen idly, "Just curious."
"Perhaps," Shen Mochen admitted, "no one has co to verify it with ."
Finally finding a reference book he liked, Shen Mochen returned to his desk with satisfaction. This was his first visit to the First Middle School's library. He had assud the library stocked only leisure reading, but he found plenty of study materials and even so top students' "Top Scholar Notes."
"In fact, you don't need to hide your face; not so many people are out to get you."
Catherine looked up at him and gestured with her eyes for him to sit directly opposite her.
Shen Mochen pulled out a chair and sat down, "I just find it annoying. I just want to study quietly here at First Middle School."
"Don't you get lonely doing that? If you showed your face, you'd probably be even more popular with the girls than Zhao Yuji. Instead of like now..." Catherine grinned, "You could have it all, instead of watching others have what should be yours."
"By 'all,' do you an the admiration of girls?" Shen Mochen was skeptical.
The pen spun adeptly between her fingers as Catherine looked at Shen Mochen with a half-smile, "Don't you want others' admiration?"
His head down, flipping through the wisdom of past scholars, Shen Mochen replied casually, "It doesn't matter. If a person only feels fulfilled when affird by the opposite sex, his life is too hollow."
Being soone who drew the attention of a double-digit number of girls just by stepping outside, Shen Mochen had beco immune to it, and he rather enjoyed the obscurity.
Catherine stopped spinning her pen and grinned, "Heh, so composed; worthy of the title 'Mysterious Young Man.'"
Shen Mochen looked up at Catherine unhappily, "Please don't call such a cheesy nickna, Princess."
"I told you I don't like being called that, Mysterious Young Man."
"I don't like that na either, Princess."
"You stop first, Mysterious Young Man!"
"You should go first, Princess!"
"Mysterious Young Man."
"Princess."
"Mysterious Young Man!"
"Princess!"
"…"
The two bickered childishly, but after less than five rounds, Shen Mochen was the first to admit defeat, raising his hand in surrender.
"I'm wrong, I'm wrong, Kajiena. Can we just study properly?" Shen Mochen questioned himself, wondering if such a trivial quarrel was necessary.
"With your scores almost the worst in class, it's funny you even ntion studying," Catherine taunted, her smile curving.
"Bad students need to study even harder!" Shen Mochen muttered, bowing his head.
Catherine snickered coldly at his words but stopped talking to Shen Mochen.
The two studied in the empty library, the quiet noon of spring peaceful and serene. Warm sunlight stread through the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting shadows of the trees outside onto the reference books on the table, occasionally trembling slightly.
After who knows how long, Shen Mochen rubbed his eyes, glanced out the window, and took a brief rest.
Catherine was also feeling a bit tired, she stretched forward, her nearly perfect figure drawing Shen Mochen's gaze instantly.
"Like what you see?"
Catherine tilted her head, asking with a smile.
Caught staring, Shen Mochen's face flushed red, and he quickly turned away, "The books are quite interesting."
Catherine, well aware that Shen Mochen was just being stubborn, didn't take it to heart. She adjusted his head to face her and chuckled lightly, "I'm asking if your girlfriend is pretty?"
"…After all, she's the school beauty, of course she's pretty." Shen Mochen hesitated slightly, his eyelids drooping.
Catherine's brows furrowed slightly, seemingly not too fond of that response. But the expression was fleeting.
"Want to have a feel?"
She smirked, placing her hand on her chest, her tone teasing.
"Really? Cough cough cough… I an, it's not right, we're not seriously together, it's not okay, it's not okay…"
Shen Mochen blurted out what he truly thought but quickly covered it up.
"You make a very good point."
After hearing his words, Catherine didn't get upset but instead nodded in agreent, then waved Shen Mochen over with a smile.
Shen Mochen instinctively leaned in, and Catherine leaned slightly forward, whispering in his ear, "So you better fall in love with fast, then you can touch as much as you want in the future."
The minty fragrance coming towards him made her words feel even more like a devil's temptation.
Shen Mochen's ears trembled, his heartbeat racing. He imdiately recoiled, as if a mont later he would have been lost in that devilish whisper!
"Hmph! I don't even want to touch! I don't like big breasts!" Shen Mochen turned his face away, grinding his teeth, "I like the B-cups and C-cups!"
Images of Yin Caiyu and Yin Huailian's breasts desperately surfaced in his mind!
A re G-cup won't tempt a gentleman like ! Useless!
"Is that so? That's too bad."
Catherine raised her eyebrows, her voice filled with mockery. She leaned back in her chair, yawning as if the previous flirtation was just a joke to pass the ti.
"Hmph!"
Shen Mochen grunted defiantly.
Catherine casually picked up a book and poked Shen Mochen's hand, "Hey, didn't your heart flutter just now?"
Shen Mochen imdiately denied it, "No!"
"Then your face is red."
"That's just a sunburn!"
"Is it?"
"Hmph, narcissist!"
Catherine didn't press further, but her eyes, brimming with smiles, had likely seen through Shen Mochen's tough act.
Noticing the gaze from across, Shen Mochen's face reddened even more. He started to change the subject, looking around, "Where's that freak hiding now?"
Catherine chuckled, "Are you talking about Fuzi?"
Shen Mochen nodded, "Who else would it be."
According to Catherine, that Fuzi might not just be any ordinary freak.
"I told her to go rest, she's not around us now," Catherine shrugged.
"Not worried about bad guys targeting you now?" Shen Mochen took the opportunity to tease her.
He was clearly mocking the ridiculous excuse Catherine had used last night to get him to escort her to Tianyi Immortal Garden.
"Now with my boyfriend here to protect , I'm certainly not afraid of any bad guys."
Catherine's eyes twinkled, as if hiding bright stars.
