"Can’t I? Isn’t it thanks to my roots that your protection was stronger in my children? Your presence here today, I can tell it is also thanks to it... the least you can do is grant this wish. Or are you that ungrateful a deity?"
— Khkhkh... alright... if he goes maybe my al will be ready sooner. One from the lands of Oregor... your nature might serve my fangs so fun. —
"Take my horse, Zeleskiaz! He was easy to convince, hahaha!"
— Your child likes to bark back but he’s no fun, Ingrid... nacing him wasn’t a challenge, grahaha... —
"He grew far from where Oregor and I are, cut him so slack!!"
Doubting his own eyes, Zeleskiaz did as told without hoping to fight those suddenly getting along. The elegant mother now also seed deadly, a matter he recognised as a son but not as a warrior until now...
’Even Fenrir is easily convinced by her... what in the world is wrong with my Mother?’
The crown prince thought slightly chard by the fact, leaving the thought behind quickly. The reason was as simple as that: Ingrid’s roots were the sa as Oregor’s... lands the deity liked for their strong essence similar to its original Realm and the culture of an old race challenging deities that had made him friends for the first ti with a man.
*******
The bones were breaking, losing force... but it still wasn’t enough. It was weird to begin with, the kind of powers I had, however I could see it clearly the more I ran spewing the attacks I could muster on the go.
"You cannot hide!!"
"Holy cr*p!!" — I crawled out of the hiding spot I found that only worked for five seconds before being destroyed from below.
’How is she able to find so fast!?!?’ — I thought as I rushed, concentrating my mind in making those waves that were surely making an impact on the bones she controlled.
They were trembling waves I could see form in thin air, cracking what they touched and I was gradually making it so only the bones would collapse... much more after losing my ground when I yelled at her after Fenrir, Zel and my dad disappeared from sight.
’Oh god... I’m so tired... This isn’t working out...’ — I’ve been thinking for a while since it’s taking too long and my stamina isn’t that of a sportsman at all. — ’At this rate, I might collapse out of breath... uh?’
"A dead end... there’s nowhere to hide..." — I felt myself beco whiter while I found myself at one of the Halls ant for the seasonal Balls. One too wide that had only so balconies that could serve so use but too far for to reach safely. — "uh... er... what do I do? What do I do now?!"
"Finally. Like a rat, you are trapped now, Marianne."
"Well... Rats aren’t that bad... they sohow get their way out alive most of the ti if you think about it."
"I congratulate you for such optimism but this won’t be the case." — Walking naturally as if those bones that had chased around never belonged to her, Karina smiled. The blood she had lost now seed to be the original shade in her dress and even while torn apart she appeared beautiful... although a bit too beat up and tired, but still out of this world with those glowy blue eyes.
"I think you are the optimistic one. You seem awfully confident after losing so much blood. Do I need to remind you that you are in a worse state than I am?" — I clenched onto Alis Abyssi as I had noticed it helped to balance the course of the waves I was stealthfully dominating. — "Fenrir said you are his snack. I’m just preparing you for him."
"... Fenrir was chained by his prey once so what makes you think I cannot do it twice?"
"That was a lucky first ti, I don’t think it will happen again. I an... You seem to have trouble planning things well when it cos to . Since I’m involved in this, isn’t it obvious that your plans will fail?"
"Huff... This part of yourself... having Elizabeth mixed in yourself made you too reckless, Marianne. Your mockery and attitude are inappropriate. If she hadn’t co, you would have died and all your suffering would have stopped with just that. None of this would have happened... my suffering as well would have found closure... this war would have happened as well yet Zeleskiaz would have loved and these many deaths wouldn’t have happened. The Emperor’s, your Father’s and your mother’s... Theressa’s nor Paul’s... and yet... they are all dead now."
"... that’s a lie. They aren’t dead, I confird it myself."
"What makes you so sure about that? Don’t you know I am a witch? A witch that deals with bones... I can easily make a dead body my puppet."
"... even so, I won’t fall for that bluff. You didn’t kill them before so it doesn’t look like you have that much power. I don’t get what this witch matter you talk about is but, I know I can and have to beat you so everyone properly makes it out alive."
"... You poor thing... You have always fought to be able to survive... oh. That reminds of a little sothing... did you know that after Elizabeth died Seth was set free?"
"... h-how do you... that doesn’t matter at all! That’s another world’s story! You won’t gain anything from telling this!"
"Is it? It is still your story. I think it is worth telling it to you... I saw how he looked for you and t those old people you used to hang out with... I think you used to call them geezers? Your mother was also enraged at his freedom... There seems to be an artefact there that shows images, it was awful how the news affected her..."
"... and? That is still not part of my story—"
"Even if I tell you that later that artefact showed you mother’s murder and an old woman’s... what was she called?... Marta, I think it was her na."
"..... th-that’s a lie..."
"Do you think so? Seth was such a man. You should know that. He was worse than Paul... even you erased so mories out of trauma from when you were kidnapped."
"Shut up."
"You lost many precious firsts at his hands... how awful, having to trick your mind like that.."
"SHUT UP!!" — Desperate to silence her, I wrapped the space in a painful wave. The images were vivid as hell... and because they were hellish I had blocked them completely from my mory.
