It was painful to see how much my family suffered... We had separated at a ti, yet after eting the geezers and properly healing, I had started to relate better with them, because even if it had been difficult a experience and different for each of us, they were my family... they would always be.
The ones I grew up with and for whom I wanted to escape Seth... the family I loved against difficulties and unfairness... the loved ones I wanted to live for as Granny Martha had taught ...
The scenes of what had been without in my world then continued... showing the papers and news in which I appeared. Since while being kidnapped, I had been shown to the country, the sa happened when I appeared and I guess with this... It also happened when I died...
Nonetheless, the television would be turned off in mom’s house since she would start to cry harder every ti and my brothers would accompany her quietly as they suffered not only my death but mom’s sorrow...
"... can you believe it?" — Kevin, while staring at our sleeping mother, sitting next to an also tired Trevor, mumbled... provoking a short and lifeless scoff from our older brother whose eyes were red from the lack of ease.
"... not really... it’s... it’s difficult to accept she’s dead..."
"Yeah... she’s our little sister..."
"Mm... that d*mn idiot..."
’...’
"... she would hit you for that, haha..."
"I wish she could... I really wish Eli could hit now, Kev..."
"..... I also do..."
’... I wouldn’t hit you... you’re the idiot...’ — I thought crying along the sight of my two older brothers leaning on each other’s shoulder while the expression of what wanted to be a laugh distorted into restrained crying.
"... feels like we’re living hell again..."
"Right... but this ti we don’t fear we could find her... but she’s actually dead this ti..."
"... yEah... our... our little sister’s actually dead this ti..."
"..... Do you rember... when we promised we would protect her if we found her?"
’... uh?’
"... we never were able to actually do it... although we did threaten her classmates... Eli was tough..."
"Yeah... Eli was tough... but I wonder what she would think of us if she knew we kept an eye on her once in a while whenever we lost touch for more than two weeks..."
"Ah, she would have killed us..."
"Do you think so?"
"... well... it’s weird to have your brothers travel to your city only to make sure you’re alright without ever saying it..."
’... what...’
"Is it?... I an... I was never able to get over her going missing..."
" neither..."
"... she would mock us if she knew, I think..."
’... N-no... no I wouldn’t...’
Learning more things that I ignored, I felt sad to ignore them... but even so... the little love I did manage to convey after getting better was then appreciated, not only by myself but by them as well...
"... wouldn’t she do that while happy, though...?" — Kevin said, much calr in the tears, almost nostalgic as he said it. — "... like whenever she gave us her sketches... I feel like she would make a joke and be happy to give them..."
"Ah... ’keep it and rember I’m talented unlike you baldie’..."
"Mine was ’it’s in black and white but it’s more vivid than your mouth, learn a bit’... the last one she gave to had that written on the back."
"... so annoying... haha~"
"Hahaha~ She’s an idiot..."
"...."
’... haha...’ — While seeing them smile lightly, I also laughed... finding them cute for the first ti... — ’I guess I won’t pull on your legs at night, guys...’
"I miss her, Trevor..."
"... too, Kev... she was the happiness of our family... she made difficult tis easier..."
Glad to see them, probably rembering like I always wanted them to, I saw them shed tears while happily reminiscing of what I hoped they would rember... since I had purposely done it seriously so it would stay in their mory.
"I’ll never forget whenever she said she loved us..."
"... the first sketch she gave has it written."
"Yeah... Elizabeth... was really a funny sister..."
Seeing them agree while comforting each other, I saw the scene fade into another... knowing that my belief of having conveyed my love to my family was true in its whole...
But then... the scene changed to the funeral itself. Showing a cetery with lots of green and a chapel on one side where people went to give their condolences to my family.
"... Are you Eli’s mother?" — As soon as I heard this voice, I gasped overwheld and fearful to see... although my eyes imdiately lifted to look at the elders dressed in black greeting my exhausted mom. — "We are... Eli’s friends..."
"... Elizabeth’s?"
"Yes... I am Martha, these are August and Marlo... Rose, Robert... Georgina and Vincent..." — Granny Martha said, introducing every single one of the geezers I had spent most of my free ti with. And their tired backs made cry, sorry to the sight of their old deanours looking weary and in pain, acting solemn... although so couldn’t remain as calm.
"Our Eli was a lovely child... Even after she suffered so much... sob... She was sweet and lively..." — Grampa Marlo said, wiping his tears in the handkerchief he always carried and often offered to , red while crying... without the usually sweet smile but instead with crystalline eyes.
"It’s alright, Marlo..." — Gramps August, stroking Marlo’s back said, supporting himself on his cane... one he only used when without the force to walk by himself.
"Truthfully, Mrs Lowe... All of us never thought it would be us that would assist this funeral..." — Granny Martha, resuming conversations with Mom and my brothers said, smiling even as tears fell from her clear eyes. — "We... we had always thought it would be Eli who would bury us... life is crueller the more we grow older, is it not?"
"... I appreciate your visit... Eli would be happy to know how much you liked her."
"She would laugh at us, that girl."
"That’s right! Such a jokester she was! She would tell us to open the wine fast!"
"Calm down, Marlo."
"Well...you certainly know our little sister, haha..." — Trevor said at the geezers’ words. Letting have a brief feel of delight... but then, Granny continued. After giving a smile to those around.
"Haha... I believe she would be sad..." —Granny Martha said, with a lowered gaze. — "She wouldn’t like us who loved her to suffer this much at our age..."
