’Mister~ I was just thinking about you~~’

It was natural for us to do what we did. Waving like a child would. Amused at the nice timing of a parent.

"Good morning, dear. You skipped breakfast today but I won’t let you skip lunch~ I am here to retrieve my child~"

From above the Duke singsonged as he saw us wave to him. And so, I imdiately moved to get back into the library to et Marianne’s father that kindly ca to get us.

He walked the bridge alongside us who went back into the tower, and apparently, he decided to wait at the unique door. Because when I entered the library he wasn’t there to et us.

I glanced at Paige, giving an order with my eyes she understood imdiately. And as she went to get the book we were taking back with us, I turned to Theodore to write a few words for him.

[ I thank you greatly, Scholar Theodore. This has been a wonderful experience. Hopefully, on my next visit to the library, we could read outside. Your guide through this vast tower was enjoyable. ]

"Ah.. Ah, ye–yes, my Lady..." — Watching him lower his head clearly shy, I stared for a mont at him. Pondering if I should actually point out what’s been bothering for a while.

And given how I was feeling truthful to how I felt at this ti... I quickly decided to ask. For I truly wonder what happened but furthermore...

[ Also. The bandage on your neck, I hope it is nothing I should be concerned about...]

"!..... It... P-please, do not... i-it happened because of my... Incompetence..."

"....."

Staring at him as he felt embarrassed about it, I ca to smirk inwardly at the purple librarian. Thinking he had probably fallen from the steps of a stair while organizing books or sothing as clumsy as that.

[ Regardless, do take care, Scholar. Let us et again on a later day. ]

"... Yes... Until later, Miss Marianne."

Bowing to him, I turned to go upstairs followed by Paige and Sir Vitor. I wanted to give another bow in goodbye before really vacating the library, but from where I stood, Theodore was already gone from where I left him. Completely out of sight.

It felt curious. But even so, I continued my way as Sir Vitor opened the door for us.

Standing prominently, the sight of the mister was the first thing that entered my eyes.

Smiling fondly at , he made a deep reverence, acting playful and reciting with a dieval tone.

"Thee sights finally are near your server’s eyes, my feathered Princess. May this limb escort thou presence?"

He made imdiately laugh to take his arm and we walked back into the main building, to have the famous lunch he ca to make sure I would eat.

My appetite had not been as voracious as before... But I still ate what I was served.

He would make sure I did and it was truly nice from him.

Our day went as peacefully as it had these last few days we’ve been here. And lastly... another night ca...

Another sleepless night that beca like that for a reason other than the usual.

Being on our own and still in the dead of night... We would have difficulties falling asleep.

My mind would stay blank after talking for a bit with Anne about the day or whatever ca to mind. But at so point, both of us would stop our unique conversations because both of us were feeling the sa botherso sensation.

It was probably because of the ti that had passed. Away at a place different from here. Without us doing what we used to in the company we used to... And our eyes would wander around the dark room that still allowed little light from the moon to slide into it to make it less black.

From those thick curtains, it entered... Especially from that one hiding that window that also bothered during the day.

’... It’s... Maybe it’s too soon...’

Eventually, I decided to tell Marianne what I had been trying not to talk about at night.

’H-he might be busy catching up to the work he didn’t do while we were there... So... That’s why...’

T-that’s... T-that’s why, right? That we haven’t received a letter...

’..... That must be why.’ — Seating up because of the restless feeling I’ve been accumulating, I then stood up from the bed since I couldn’t relax.

I looked around and the furniture could be seen thanks to the little light entering from outside. Hence... feeling up my way with my hands and with the map of how I rembered my room was arranged, I walked to that one window that felt annoyingly bright while I was in conflict.

My hands reached the edges of the curtains where the gap was made... And I pondered supporting myself on them... Thinking if I should look outside this ti unlike I’ve been avoiding ever since we separated.

Biting the inner side of my lip was not enough to restrain the impulse this ti since I was already in front of it, and so, my hands moved accordingly to such impulse. Opening them, timid since I was still hesitant. Giving a little peek to the outside to then calmly open the curtains further so I could look out properly.

Bright.

The moon so far up in the sky looked the brightest I’ve ever seen... Or at least that’s how I felt.

The sight of the little forest and the landscape I usually watched under the colourful brightness of the sun appeared as peaceful and as beautiful in a blue and purplish lens the different lightning of a smaller orb granted...

Truly different... Yet it was as lovely... Even slightly more breathtaking since it was my first ti looking outside my window at this late hour.

The glass was closed to prevent the wind from indiscriminately entering my room, but I still watched more of the scenery even though I wished I could also feel the night breeze caress my face.

’It doesn’t seem real...’ — I thought in awe, comncing to think I was actually dreaming.

My eyes went down. Unconsciously repeating the track they had done when he jumped from this sa height. But then it went to look at the start of the little forest... Where a silhouette... One that sohow was shaped so I wouldn’t freak out was found.

"....."

I watched and watched... Until I saw it walk to a place where the light of the moon would make it clear.

’... Ah... So I’ve... Lost it so much I even dream about him.’ — I told myself in disbelief at how delightful a sight it was... to see that golden white hair almost appear silver under the rciless moon. Hypnotised... Even opening the window’s glass so this dream would continue.

He kept getting nearer. To finally stand below my window, quietly observing with the beautiful eyes he was born with and that smile that made my heart throb so dangerously every ti...

".. .. ."

An indescribable wish to speak that couldn’t make it to this dream made feel bitter and saddened for I wanted to call him... By that na that felt so sweet within every ti I recalled how it sounds.

’Zeleskiaz...’ — Ah... How I wish I could control this dream...

Nonetheless, my subconscious knew very well... That even if I said no word... Our distance would be shortened. Because thankfully he was still a beast that would selfishly try to get his hands on us any ti he could...

I sohow knew... And I opened the glass further... and it was as I concentrated on this that...

"My lady. At this ti, you should be resting..."

The close eting of our gazes made pained to hear him say that. Because it was all his fault that I was even dreaming about him.
