"Eliminate all those bastards."
Boom!
Following the leader’s roar, the group of ard n who had suddenly arrived at the scene began searching for Dante’s group. But before they could take any further action, a rain of bullets precisely pierced their heads.
"Keep moving straight ahead, we’ll regroup after securing an escape route. I’ll escape through that building, which seems to be so kind of office space." Seeing that the enemy leader had been shot dead, Dante observed the crowd rushing in from all directions and quickly explained his plan to the people behind him.
At that mont, the group of five gathered under cover. Counterattacking from this position was too difficult since the obstacles obstructed their view of the surrounding situation. It was better to split up and advance.
"Move out!"
Following Dante’s command, his soldiers ran to the left and right, avoiding the enemies who had locked onto them, intending to escape from this place.
Seeing this, Dante imdiately grabbed a grenade from a corpse and threw it forward, then signaled his n to move toward the corridor on the right.
Boom!
Under the horrified eyes of the gunn who had no ti to react, the grenade traced an arc through the air, landed on the ground, rolled a few tis, and then suddenly exploded, blasting everyone nearby into the air.
As the gunn struggled to get up, waving their hands to clear the smoke, they realized that Dante and his group had vanished.
"Find them!"
"Yes! Find them, and rember—every last one of them must die!"
The large number of gunn filled the air with deathly cries. With their leader dead, they were like headless flies, unsure of what to do.
"Alright!"
At that mont, a tall man, dressed simply, stepped forward, looked at the shouting man, and said, "Don’t forget why we ca here. We have to find that man, but soone needs to hurry."
Shortly after, so of them were pulled back to continue attacking, while the rest were sent to hunt down the missing soldiers.
Moving swiftly down the hallway, Dante’s eyes were fixed desperately on the door at the end.
The rooms on both sides were tightly shut, and from ti to ti, cries for help and moans could be heard from inside.
But Dante paid them little attention. After passing through the door, he turned around and shut it, then pushed a filing cabinet beside him to block the entrance.
The noise from the cabinet being moved drew the attention of nearby gunn, who imdiately dropped their files and rushed in that direction.
"Soone’s in there!"
Hearing the sound of nurous footsteps quickly approaching, Dante took in his surroundings. It was a large office space.
Dozens of desks and single-piece chairs were arranged neatly. Dante signaled his soldiers to move to the opposite side before crouching down, hiding beside the desks and chairs.
Boom!
The mont they hid, the door on the other side of the office was kicked open, and a dozen gunn rushed in.
They all looked at the blocked door at the far end and, seeing no one in sight, exchanged cautious glances.
Silently gesturing to one another on what to do, the gunn raised their rifles and spread out, advancing slowly.
Hidden in the space between the desks and chairs, Dante observed the subtle movents outside, contemplating how to deal with the enemy.
Slowly closing his eyes, he focused on listening to every sound his ears could pick up. After a few seconds, he started to hear the noises of the outside world, identifying the enemy’s positions.
He didn’t know where so many of them had co from, but knowing that the Jiménez were probably captured by now, the pressure they were facing here was sowhat understandable.
Relying on those sounds, Dante realized that, in addition to the dozen n searching inside, two were hiding outside the door.
After confirming his targets, he turned his head to look at his right-hand man, Jack, across from him, signaled for action, and then grabbed a beer bottle from the desk above him.
Seeing this, Jack slowly nodded, as if ready to attack at any mont.
Without waiting any longer, Dante imdiately threw the beer bottle into the hallway between the desks.
The unidentified object suddenly flew out, naturally drawing the attention of all the gunn. Those with enough experience would naturally recognize it for what it was beforehand, while so, who were already on edge, instinctively pulled their triggers.
A series of bullets were fired, shattering the beer bottle into pieces while it was still spinning in the air.
At the sa mont, as the enemies were distracted, Dante and Jack seized the opportunity, erging from their hiding spots and opening fire on their enemies.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Countless bullets flew, striking down the enemies who had no ti to react. In the blink of an eye, their numbers were cut in half, and so were wounded, collapsing to the ground, howling in pain.
His eyes swept across the front like lightning, and after confirming that all enemies in the office area were down, Dante rolled forward to evade incoming bullets from the direction of the door.
As he rolled, his hand reached for the dagger strapped to his leg, gripping it tightly before hurling it.
The sharp dagger flew toward its target at a speed almost imperceptible to the naked eye.
The gunn at the door barely had ti to react. With wide eyes filled with horror, they could only watch as the dagger ca closer and closer.
The dagger pierced fiercely through a rebel’s neck, killing him instantly, yet surprisingly, not much blood spurted from the wound.
However, the force of the dagger wasn’t fully exhausted. The gunman’s body stumbled backward, crashing into another enemy beside him, causing his aim to shift.
Seizing this opportunity, Dante fired several shots, finishing off the rebel.
"Boss..."
Having witnessed everything unfold, Jack stood frozen in shock and walked toward the doorway where the two gunn’s bodies lay on the floor.
Looking at the dagger firmly embedded in the man’s skull, thinking of its astonishing speed, he muttered, "How did you...?"
"I’m just good at what I do..." Dante said as he bent down, grabbed the knife handle, and pulled the dagger free, now covered in blood and brain matter.
Wiping the sides of the blade on the corpse, Dante sheathed it back in its scabbard.
"Sir, there are people on the second floor!"
"Alright, let’s go!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Just as the two were about to leave, loud shouts and gunfire erupted from above.
Dante and Jack exchanged looks, knowing that their teammates had likely been discovered.
Boom! Boom!
At the sa ti, the blocked door behind them was being violently struck, and with each hit, the filing cabinet shifted slightly.
"We need to get out of here..."
Seeing this, both of them knew it wasn’t safe to stay any longer, so they pressed on.
They navigated through several hallways, encountering and taking out a few scattered gunn before breaking out of the building.
Dante felt no unease while escaping, but suddenly, he heard hurried footsteps behind him. A sudden burst of movent sounded from behind.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Without thinking, Dante spun around, raising his weapon, and took down several gunn who had just erged.
Boom!
But before he could fire more shots, a deadly sense of crisis hit him from the side.
Dante instinctively took half a step back, and the muffled sound of a shotgun fired right next to him. A slug round struck where he had just been standing. Though it didn’t hit him directly, fragnts of tal grazed his face.
