"This ti while I was sleeping, I had a dream," Nellie no longer teased Pannis and gently stopped the bleeding of his most severe wounds. She tried to dress them, but Pannis waved his hand to stop her, so she could only kneel beside him, gently letting him rest his head on her lap, and reminisced, "It was a very chaotic dream, many of the details are quite blurry to . However, in the later part of the dream, I rember very clearly because I dread that I went back over a hundred years and entered this space again. Unlike reality, there were none of you in the dream—not just you, but none of our friends were there. It was just entering here, alone facing Danacus."
"You dread of Danacus?" Pannis raised his eyebrows sharply, trying to sit up suddenly, but the movent pulled at his wounds. Grimacing, he lay back down on Nellie’s lap and quickly pressed, "Are you sure you were just dreaming at that ti?"
"I of course thought I was dreaming before, but after seeing your reaction, I can’t be certain anymore," Nellie said with a wry smile and shook her head, "Maybe the parts I initially couldn’t rember were indeed dreams, and the parts I rembered later might not belong to just a dream."
"Perhaps," Pannis said pensively, "You don’t rember anything from the earlier part of the dream?"
"That’s not entirely true, but those dreams were really chaotic, with no connection between them. The content was extrely jumbled. At one mont, I would be dreaming of feeding birds in front of our little house, and the next mont, the scene would shift to a place I had never seen before, fighting a giant beast I had never encountered. Then, the next mont, I might find myself wandering in a completely dark environnt, unable to find any pattern or rule." Nellie scratched her head, troubled, "Not only was there no pattern, but there were many scenes in the dreams, at least thousands, flashing before my eyes. That’s why I can’t rember what the dreams were about; after all, the content was too fragnted and too chaotic."
"mory Fragnt?" Pannis ventured, "Is it sothing like that?"
"Not quite," Nellie shook her head, "When Danacus first invaded my body, I experienced the process of receiving mory Fragnts, so I can tell there is a difference. What I experienced in the dream seed much shorter and more disordered than mory Fragnts, so could only be described as brief scenes, lasting less than a fraction of a second."
"Well, maybe they’re more fragnted mory Fragnts then," Pannis stroked his chin, musing, "I can’t determine the exact cause, but considering usual logic, a collision of souls might create such fragnts, although maybe not. Let’s set this issue aside for now. Anything else out of the ordinary?"
"Indeed, there was sothing unusual," Nellie, as if suddenly rembering sothing, tensed up and spoke earnestly, "I felt my emotions were being interfered with. Throughout those dream sequences—well, let’s still call them dreams for now—my emotions were consistently low, as if I was in deep pain, very sad, and most importantly, my heart was filled with resentnt. You can’t imagine how intense that resentnt was. I truly detested everyone, wishing to kill every person and let them die in the most tragic way possible."
"Resentnt?" Pannis narrowed his eyes, uncertainly said, "And a desire to kill everyone?"
"It’s hard to imagine, I genuinely loved every being," Nellie said with a bitter smile. "Even I can hardly imagine falling into such a ntal state. Even though I knew it was wrong, I kept suppressing the resentnt in my heart, but it inevitably affected my emotions. If I were in the mortal world at that ti, I guess that even if I could control myself not to randomly attack others, I would still be influenced by my emotions and might use violence against those who dared to co near ."
"Yeah, like ." Pannis shrugged his shoulders, seeming to have figured out so things, and a smile appeared on his face again. After a remark that made Nellie want to poke at his wound, he slowly said, "I think, not long after that, you dreamt of Danacus."
"How did you know?" Nellie exclaid in surprise, but it was just a question. Having gotten used to the fact that Pannis would sohow always guess certain things, Nellie was left with only a routine surprise, too lazy to inquire about the reasons. After all, she wouldn’t understand his explanations anyway, so it was better to save the effort. Thus, the knight didn’t wait for Pannis to say anything and directly replied, "Yes, when the hatred in my heart grew stronger, the dream changed. I dreamt that I first entered this space, the first ti I faced Danacus."
"Hmm, interesting," Pannis said with a strange smile, pondering, "I think, a fierce battle erupted between you two."
"Yes, a battle erupted right from the beginning," Nellie nodded. "We were essentially enemies, only one of us could rest in peace if the other died, plus, at that ti, my heart was filled with hatred, so killing him beca the only thought I had upon seeing him."
"Heh, I thought so," Pannis nodded. "And I guess, in the dream, you were the one who had the upper hand in the battle."
"Huh? How do you... never mind, too lazy to ask." Nellie frowned with a mix of perplexity and said, "The way of fighting in the dream was very bizarre, I can’t describe exactly how we fought. To put it simply, we were not fighting with our bodies, but with our minds. We both had physical forms, but we controlled our bodies not by strength but purely by spirit. I could appear wherever I thought of, attack however I wanted to, everything was decided by my own will and mind, rendering the role of the body minimal."
"Then you must have fought very hard," Pannis couldn’t help himself and made quite a dire remark.
"Snap." Without a doubt, Pannis received the treatnt he deserved, as Nellie withdrew her hand and said irritably, "I don’t feel like talking to you anymore. Anyway, a fierce battle broke out between us, and gradually, I gained the upper hand, completely suppressing Danacus. Just when I thought I could finally do what I had always wanted to do in the dream, thoroughly teach Danacus a lesson, the situation suddenly changed."
